This light switch it expensive, but you get what you pay for. It has a sleek design, look great, works great.
Light switch has multiple features, it is easy to find in the dark and is one of those things that you don't think you would need it or like it until you have it.

Switches are really nice dimmers, work for new led bulbs. Manual doesn’t really explain linking a 3 way set up. Once you do, they are great.Con. You have to have another hub to use them remotely with your phone.

Pretty good... until the gremlins attack. I started with Insteon because I needed to be able to control the upper and lower outlet in the same box independently, and they offered the easiest solution I could find. That was promising, so I built out a few rooms and added motion detectors for the closet lights, since my family constantly leave those lights on. So far, so good: Closet lights shut off 30 seconds after the last motion is detected, kitchen & living room set up, porch lights automated to turn on at dusk & off at dawn, and one bedroom set up to control multiple lamps and the ceiling fan. Programming via the app was a bit clunky, and definitely slow, but I was satisfied with the end result. Until things started going wrong. The started small at first, but every few weeks, we'd notice another. * When we'd turn the kitchen light switch on, not only would the kitchen lights come on, so would the dining room lights. Turning the switch off would turn off the kitchen lights, but leave the dining room lights on. * The bedroom keypad started clicking with every keypress, even though the app settings had that box unchecked. * Turning on one of the lamps in the bedroom would start the ceiling fan. * Turning off the ceiling fan (via its dedicated switch) would dim one of the lamp keypad switches while the associated lamp's state remained unchanged. * Our outdoor light timer ended up on a completely different schedule than our days/nights, and resetting the hub clock didn't change anything. And so on. Every few weeks, we'd notice another odd behavior. So I called support, and they asked if I'd been removing devices from the system without removing them from scenes first. I definitely had, since the instructions don't warn against it and the app UI allows it. Unfortunately, the back end software isn't so robust, and those old settings were ghosts in the machine, orphaned and inaccessible from the app. Support's recommendation for solving this was to factory-reset the entire system and start over. They claim to be working on a software fix, but it's at least six months out. More and more gremlins kept creeping in, so I finally did the reset and re-programming, which took five (5) hours. TL;DR: Insteon is a neat system, and worked fine for small jobs, but the clunky, slow app isn't ready for prime time--especially when the gremlins creep in, support leaves you out in the cold, and you need to start over.

This dimmer can not dim L.E.D. or CFL over 450 watts; but can dim incandescent lamps of to 600 watts; in a 3-way switch circuit. Is there a 3-way that can handle 600 watt for L.E.D. or CFL?

Over the course of about ten years of service, 90% of our Insteon switches have failed. The most recent one to fail is only a year old. Save yourself the frustration, and money: don't buy Insteon.

I have over 10 of these in my new home controlling dimmable LED lights throughout the house and the number will frown over time as replace original contractor switches. I love the reliability of the remote control capability. I use both the iPhone/iPad app as well as Amazon Echo (Alexa). I mainly use voice commands with Alexa because it is just so easy. I have some light switches in not so convient locations because pocket doors pushed them away from the entrance or I just have my hands full. Alexa response to command Insteon switches is quick. I now have installed 5 Amazon Dots to supplement my original Amazon Echo so I can voice command anywhere in the house. (Amazon made a recent software update so they all can be call "Alexa", but only one will respond. You use to have to give two without earshot of each other different key words to keep them both from responding). I love the ease of local control to dim the light for old school folks like my wife who refuses to talk to Alexa (LOL). You can make all kinds of configuration changes with thes switches like the ramp up/down speed as well as even how bright the switch LEDs are the front of the switch. You can even link switches to control another switch if you want to. I highly recommend the Insteon switches. The more you have the more reliable your system will be. They make a mess network and repeat commands to other switches by RF and over your house wiring so you are rewarded by having more switches in you large home. My home is 3,100 single story and I don't have any reliability issues.

            LED ok for me
I'm using these (and some older model single band Insteon switches) with the Cree LED bulbs sold at Home Depot and they work fine. The only problem is that the Cree builds don't dim smoothly all the way to 0%.

              Works great, including with LEDs
Unlike other reviews I have not had any problems with LEDs and the Insteon switches. I have about 20 of the 2477D in my house. On some LED fixtures I get buzzing when dimmed, however this was the case with the previous analog dimmer I was using as well so I suspect the issue lies more with the quality of the bulbs I'm using (Cree). Interestingly some of the Cree bulbs don't have any problem at all. Overall I'm extremely impressed with the solution as we were reviewing the MUCH more expensive Control4 solution prior to experimenting with and ultimately deciding to use Insteon.

Slick solution to some tricky problems
Works well as an electronic dimmer, but it's too expensive for that alone. The value is in the ability to use it as a remote or remotely controlled device. I used a pair of them to control one light in an area that didn't allow the wiring needed by normal 3-way switches. Installation was simple and so was the programming, so full marks there. A neat feature is that the led lights on the switch are dimmable so your house doesn't wind up looking like Times Square at night. The only caveat is that the Insteon communication protocol is not totally flawless, although it is much better than alternatives such as X-10. The first time I used one of these to control a remote light, it didn't work until I installed a pair of repeaters in the system (extra cost). In the current installation, there is cross-talk between the sender and an already-installed unit elsewhere that will require some reprogramming. The end result is great, and these switches will let you do some things you couldn't do any other way, but it won't necessarily be perfect right out of the box.

              NOT CFL-LED COMPATIBLE
Insteon online manual says "Wired-in incandescent lighting" with minimum of 25 watt usage to avoid flickering.

Great dimmer - Does NOT work with LED
I LOVE insteon and have a house full of it but it cannot handle LED. The lights flash when ever there is network traffic and the fade is rough.
