Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, Thank you for your feedback on this flooring product. When deciding on a wood species for your hardwood floor it is important to keep in mind color variation. First thing to remember is that no two floor boards are like. Each shows its own variations in character, from knots to mineral streaks to pinholes to grain patterns. Wood is a natural product and even boards from the same tree will accept a stain differently. Similar variations exist between samples, pictures and purchased flooring. They are normal and it does not mean the product is defective.
