I bought these for 3 of my windows(bedroom, kitchen and family room) to block out anyone from the street to see in the windows as needed. They work great for this aspect, although my only complaint is for keep the sunlight out, my first night installed in my bedroom, i woke up at 7am with sun glaring in, switch the shade direction and it helped enough but wasn't as great of a "blackout" as i had hoped. Besides that they look pretty nice, give a much better look than 1"shades and the fresh white look is classy. In defense, i had a couple Hunter Douglas 2.5" blinds also mounted and obviously these can't quite compare to quality but they aren't bad seeing how i got 3 larger blinds for less than the cost of 1 HunterD.
