This birdhouse looks adorable at first. But the quality is not there. The roof and base started pulling apart after only 3 months. Instead of a solid piece of wood, it looks like thin sheets of wood were laminated together. It would probably hold up if it were kept inside but in my world birds live and nest outside. Because I did not notice it until 13 days after the 90 day return policy, they would only give me store credit. That would be fine except the store credit cannot be used at HomeDepot.com. It can only be used in stores. This does not make sense to me since I bought the birdhouses online. And I did that because there was not a selection of birdhouses in stores. As a matter of fact, guess how many birdhouses are stocked at my local store? ZERO! This seems grossly unfair. I am posting this review so that others may avoid this unfair policy and a poor quality product. Oh, and apparently the birds were not impressed either because so far no birds have chosen this as their home. In contrast, all my other houses are currently being occupied.

Adorable birdhouses. Easy to hang. Seem to be of good quality but time will tell. Hope the birds like them.

Sprains its external faces with lacquer to make it weather proof and hung it.

I love the way it looks. It is a birdhouse not a bird feeder so there is no access for food if it is hung up correctly. Other than that it seems sturdy and I like it.

Birds were fighting over it as soon as we left the area, Have Barn Swallows that are nesting in it now. Love this house as it seem well built ( Heavy ) for the price of it .

The birdhouse is very cute, constucted well, with one big design flaw. It has a hanging device on the back, which is a thin wood panel about 2" X 4", with a hole at the top for hanging. Now heres the flaw. You cannot hang it unless it is firmly against something flat and solid. Otherwise it will tilt forward at a steep pitch. The only way we could "hang" it was to nail it to the side of the garage....which I hate. If you try and affix something to the roof of the birdhouse, it will split the little shingles, plus compromise the "weatherproof" construction. We're working on a new plan for next spring, or just give up and use it in purely decorative way.
