Fantastic HD Camera Quality, Peace of mind
This QT5816-16V6 16-Channel DVR Security System is the perfect security camera system. I love it. Out of the box it was easy to set up. I individually tested each camera and they all work perfectly The initial setup of each power cable included in my package that came in 60 foot lengths. I am by no means nothing more than a DIYer with some previous knowledge of wiring. But you can do this all in a day or two as long as you have the proper tools and cable clips to connect to the walls and of course a ladder. I picked the perfect location for the Pre-Installed Hard Drive & internet/Ethernet connection and had to of course buy a good 1080 HDMI Television to use as the monitor to view. The TV monitor is not included in the camera package. I bought a nice 27 inch model. The camera produces magnificent video and stills I am sure whatever HD monitor you choose as long as it is larger than 19inch screen display. There is no specific make or model required. You choose what suits you. Once you have the cameras up and running and setup the initial startup, setup admin/password It is then working recording, and playback each channel as you choose. Look at all channels or single one channel at a time on screen display. Search mode has time/event/file management/Image. You name each camera for easy identification/recording. And record everything. 2 tb storage does hold alot of video information. The cameras are a major deterent to wanna-be criminals and peace of mind to me that they are installed. Day or night high quality video from each camera. I have also used a few stickers that came with this system for my windows to announce I am being continously protected by Q-See. This is a great investment for any home and or business. Anyone interested in a great system I am recommending Q-See for its quality and up to date technology. Thanks Home Depot for a excellent system that will give me years of service and peace of mind.

Good product, easy installation. Maybe a little short on documentation
Camera and recorder installation / connection was a easy, and the system worked well out of the box. There is little in the way of documentation, or user manual in the box, and that would have been more helpful with the installation/connection to remote viewing via mobile phone app. With a little research I found and managed to get the remote viewing via internet connection feature working. Worth the price if purchased on sale.

Clear and crisp images even in low light, wonderful system
This is a great system. It comes with 16 cameras and mounts, one cable for each (you may have to buy more cable if you need longer runs), a DVR with 2TB of storage, and a mouse for set up. The images are crisp and clear even in low light (Night vision!) and the remote access from the web or from your smartphone is awesome. In order to utilize the remote access you'll have to have the DVR connected to a router via ethernet cable (no wireless), so keep that in mind when you select a space to set it up. You'll also need to supply your own monitor so there are extra costs involved beyond purchasing this system. Setup is straightforward enough that you can do it yourself, but if you're limited on time you may want to hire someone to do it, especially if you need to run and hide wires for long distances. The cameras need to be hard-mounted and they come with mounting screws, but if you need to get into masonry you'll have to get your own masonry plugs to mount these (not a deal breaker, but you should be aware of this). The cameras themselves are hardwired, meaning you need to run a cable from the camera to the system's DVR. Once the cameras are installed, the system just plugs together and it runs you through an easy set-up. The directions are clear and straightforward. You can remotely access it through the web or using an app for either iOS or Android, I use the app on my iPhone 5s without issues. I don't know if it works on an ipad, but I can't imagine why it wouldn't. All said, I think this is an excellent system. 2TB of hard drive space is plenty, but if your security plan calls for longterm storage of footage you'll need to consider backing it up from time to time. I'm surprised it doesn't have a lager drive, but you're better off doing back-ups anyway. Once you're past the tedium of installing the cameras you'll love this system.

Fantastic unit! Clear even at night
With some basic wiring knowledge and the right tools it's a straight forward installation. Beaded chain and a cut straightened coat hanger help run the wire! Product picture quality is excellent. 2 TB storage is more than enough. Take time to read the instructions and understand them check to make sure you have all the mounting hardware. Mine was missing some but the customer service dept priority mailed them to me within 3 days. Overall I believe this adds a great level of security and safety to my family. Unit comes complete with everything us the window stickers as additional deterrent. should have a plastic sign for the property frontage or mounting by the mail box. The camera produces excellent video and pics monitor (not included) make sure it is large enough or attach to your aux on your TV HD recommended.
