Product looks great and install was fairly easy, however scratches very easily and some edges chipped during install. Used cheaper engineered hardwood a few years ago and it has held up well. For the price of this product I would expect it to do as well or better than cheaper product. One week after installing, already concerned how it will look in the future.

Poor performance WILL NOT withstand normal wear
Have had flooring one year and this flooring scratches too easily, dents and molding pieces peel and chip. See attached pictures.

Looks great, yet they aren't that tough against abrasion. I placed self sticky felt pads on most of our furniture and try not to move it too much. With carpeting one can slide furniture easily, yet with the Hand Scraped Maple it's always a challenge.I'm committed to the HSM now of course because it's in several rooms, yet I'd think twice before I'd purchase it again.

    Downstairs wood floors
I started this project 3years ago. Each time I ordered enough to do what was needed and every time I have reordered the wood it all matched!!!

Heartbroken that we spent so much money on this.
We purchased this for our home which will become a rental home this summer. We bought enough for 3 upstairs, low-traffic bedrooms and a hallway. We have solid, real hardwood downstairs but wanted to save some money and at the time, this was cheaper. It's awful. We haven't even finished installing it and there are already scratches and scrapes and tears that expose how Not Real this "engineered" hardwood is-just from furniture being moved back into place (even with the pads on the bottom!). Unless you have no kids, and basically walk around on egg shells and never move your furniture, this isn't the flooring you want to spend money on. Go for the real thing so when you scratch it up, you can sand it down and refinish it. Either that or go with carpet. This flooring had scratches and tears within HOURS of installation. It's going to need to be replaced before we try to sell the house in a few years. I don't know how you feel about putting hard floors down, but my idea was that with renters, they wouldn't have to be replaced as often as carpet. Well, with this flooring-you will probably have to replace it sooner because you can't clean out the rips and tears, and it's not wood, you can't fill them in and sand it down and blend it with the surrounding laminate. We're returning what we have left and carpeting the bedroom we haven't installed in yet. Don't do this to yourself. Get real wood.

    Avoid spiked heels!
Make sure if you install this wood to tell people to take shoes off. High heels where the nail to the heel is exposed can cause serious damage.

      Awesome "wood" flooring
I installed this floor about 5 years ago in my house. Their is a lot of traffic and yes, they're are scratches and dents. And yes, it does creek when walked on. But one thing to remember is, it's a wood floor. It expands and contracts with the temperature and humidity. It's wood, of course it's going to scratch and dent. If u don't want to deal with any of that, get yourself tile that looks like wood! I think the more scratches and dents it gets the more character it gets. But, I would recommend getting a good quality vapor/ sound barrier. All in all I love it and would do it again. Only wish the made tread and risers for staircases.

Scratches EASILY & VERY POOR Warranty
I would NOT recommend this floor to anyone. Scratched the first day we move a waist high cabinet back that was on cardboard. I have scratches through out the kitchen that are very noticeable. I bought this because of the 55 year warranty that they do not stand behind & never even offered the putty or pen to help resolve the problem. I hope I never have to replace my stove or refrigerator because I'm sure it will be worse!!!!! PLEASE do NOT buy this floor because you will NOT be happy!!!!!! I would not even rate this with one star!

            very prone to scratches
Looks great out of the box, but absolutely torn to shreds by any kind of pet (scratches, deep grooves, etc).

Looks Great but the Finish Marks Easily
Let me start by saying this product looks fantastic and was really easy to install. I've done hardwoods before but this was my first engineered installation. No issues on the install at all. My only complaint about the flooring is that it seems to take a mark pretty easily. For the most part they were easy to bring back using steam and a cloth. Just a little bit of a pain though. The product would probably benefit from a thicker clear coat.

              easy to install, durable
Overall the installation went very well. There were some imperfections in these Chinese-made engineered flooring pieces, with occasional imperfections in the surface where the sedona red stain was exceptionally dark. In addition, as mentioned in other reviews, the lengths are not truly random, but of a few fixed lengths, so you have to work a bit to make sure that you end up with a overall astheticly pleasing pattern

Looks good, but noisy and scratches too easily
Looks good, but creaks when you walk on it, and scratches way too easily. The rating of a 3 on hardness for a floor is misleading and disappointing.

              Beautiful!!
I have never laid wood flooring. It was easy. Just make sure and take your time and have a sharp saw blade. It turned out beautiful.

              Great new floors
Love the floors, had them installed 6 months ago and still looking great. However, a warning on the stair nose molding -- the color does not match the flooring.

                Good for the Money!
I've been installing this in my 300 sq ft living room over the past week or so and i'm very please with the results. Easy to install, i recommend spending the money on bostitch's 18 gauge engineered flooring stapler. Not all the boards are perfectly flat, but that's what the tongue, grooves and staples are for! i haven't had to discard any boards expcet for a few i miscut. In sunlight there are some ridges, but doesn't look bad. I'm planning to install this throughout the rest of my house.

                  Poor cosmetic outcome
though the installation was relatively simple, we were extremely disappointed in the final outcome. We discarded any warped pieces-perhaps 5% -10% of the delivered boxes. We installed over a dismal weekend, since we were homebound. Once the sun reflected through, the poor quality was evident. In each piece there appear to be parallel elevations.
