I saw the negative review about broken and miss-shaped pieces, but the case I purchased to make a fireplace mantel was nearly perfect! This green onyx is truly beautiful. Before you purchase, make sure you have a reliable source to cut the tiles. HD no longer cuts them, though they do rent wet saw tile cutters. DO NOT use a scoring / snap tile cutter. Onyx is a more fragile stone that can easily fracture along its many internal lines. My case of ten tiles came double boxed with a formed sealed foam packing and web taped and are individually wrapped in a pvc type plastic 'sleeve' stacked face to face two at a time. Very sturdy and safe. No cracks, broken pieces or anything. They are exactly 12"x12" and approximately 3/8" thick with very minor thickness variances. I am please with the beauty of these.

One can see why jewely might be made from this stone! I installed 12x12 polished green onyx in my remodeled master loft bathroom on the floor, walls, spa tub surround, shower walls and seat and floor of water closet. I only cut them for walkin shower floor. LOVE THEM. I hand picked out where pieces were to go on floor. But my Insaller picked out where they went on the shower walls and pony walls between spa tub and shower and made fantastic choices. These DO, HOWEVER, hairline fracture after installation and some parts that had been microscopically filled with, whatever is used, starts to disappear. But it's not enough to deter me from LOVING THIS BEAUTIES. I COULD take one star away for not supplying the microfill for cracks OR for letting the consumer know exactly what to purchase, because they KNOW IT'S GOING TO OCCUR. WHEN MY BATHROOM WAS COMPLETED I THOUGHT, "oh know, that is alot of green!" Then I remembered, "Hey...it's one of my top three favorite colors." :) Buy with confidence that you can ALWAYS RETURN THE BOX! OR ... go to MJINTERNATIONAL and pick them out yoyrself? You should see the onyx display the have in the warehouse. It is one piece at least 12 feet square if not bigger. STUNNING!! Worth the drive just to see their business and everything they have to iffer for sale!! MIND BLOWN!!

I received a box of this tile. What I got wasn't even close to the color. All of the tiles are a variation of cream, no green or dark colors at all. On top of that, 6 of the 10 tiles in the box were broken. Terrible shipping and this is a bait and switch. Do not buy this product if you think you are getting green. Shame on you Home Depot.

This tile arrived with only one cracked piece. A little research revealed the problems onyx can produce such as delicate tile and curling after installation. To resolve these issues I back buttered each piece with PC 11 and let them cure for at least a week while I prepared the backboard. Only one piece cracked during installation and no pieces broke during cutting. There was some variation in tile thickness but every piece was square. I used CBP marble and granite-white which has proven itself on several projects. As on all projects preparation is very important. I used a very thin space of about 1/32 and used no grout. Edges were sealed with sandless grout caulk. The cooperation of MSI with Home Depot has allows the average DIY to obtain good stone products at a reasonable price which results in a high end project at an affordable price as long as you have the determination to get it done and delivery is free! I definitely recommed this product but preparation is key

As beautiful as they are, the excessive quality failure rate is excessive. It would be nice if the actual tiles were as displayed on your promo image. Instead, 30 to 40% of the tiles exhibit defects of one kind or another ( broken or excessively rounded corners, surface gouges which readily trap grout, chipped & misshapen edges, irregular surface contours, signs of having been reclaimed, etc )

I have ordered many cases (10+) and lately it seems like they only send the yellow/brown type vs the dark green that used to be more common. I’m assuming the quarry is into different rock, but that’s only a guess. I really like the dark green type of rock so it’s a little disappointing. Still great.

This stone exceeded my expectations! I have always loved real stone and the coloration of this onyx was gorgeous!

Although the tile is beautiful I have a lot of broken tiles and find it will break easily when handling. This tile cost to much for the amount of waist I end up with.

I was concerned about not being able to see them ahead of time. Very pleasantly surprised how beautiful they are. The installer is coming next week, and I can’t wait.

Buyer beware!!!!! Most of the tiles have very little Green onyx, and are not translucent...appear to be tiles that the manufacturer would have trouble selling as Green onyx to customers that are not buying them sight unseen online. Secondly, check every single tile in the box when you go pick them up if you do order them....I had quite a few broken ones and the associate told me there would be no problem returning individual broken tiles if I took them home and went through them......apparently he lied because when I brought the broken ones back to get refunded.....they tried to screw me over and say you can only return full cases of tiles.......you have to return entire cases in groups of ten........who wants to open every case in store or hold up your project returning cases of 10 sq ft because a few will be broken in every box. Home Depot has lost my business forever.

4 colorful pieces out of 40. The rest were mostly brown, very misleading and disceptive. A gross waste of my time and all were returned.

I ordered GREEN ONYX all I got was brown onyx.

Only because if U CAN'T see the tiles ur getting stuck with THEM...

These onyx tiles are gorgeous! I'm so happy they all arrived without any breaking! I have printed out the instructions on a previous review for installation. I am planning on using them for my fireplace, can't wait to see this awesome custom project completed.

The tile looks nice, but some cracking of the tile happened while putting it on the wall.

Spent too much time dealing with broken tile in shipment. 2 trips to the store with broken tile in both shipments.

FIRST - the tile is BEAUTIFUL. Having experience with this, I did order TWO boxes, in anticipation that several tiles would be broken. They were. We were able to salvage what we needed since it was a small job. If you aren't experience with tile, this stone is soft and has LOTS of cracks. Fine if you are laying the whole pieces, but you get into trouble when you need to make cuts. Just be sure to order MORE than what you need.

There is too much variation in color and quality within one box. Two are primarily brown and very opaque, nothing like those shown on the webpage. Anyway, kept them and may try ordering another box.

Great tile. I shopped around lowes and local tile shops. HD was the only good deal. It only cuts with wet saw, and it needs to be sealed.

So anxious to pick up our order… I opened the boxes as soon as I got home. We loved the sample that was on display in the natural stone section at the store. I have to say that this was exactly, possibly better than we hoped. We had three tiles out of about 180 tiles that we were unable to use - remember you will need to cut some tiles so any "rejects" can be trimmed and still earn their keep. And as a result, the added 15% extra we purchased will be used for my pantry backsplash. Should also say that my husband was very happy with the way these cut - smooth and very accurate and he was able to give them the "tumbled" effect after being cut so they did not look cut. if you want something no one else has and prefer a rich, earthy style… these are worth a look. They are not as pictured online. They are just beautiful! Our tiles are mounted now and we anxiously await drying time before applying the grout… I'll attempt to post a picture once the grout has been applied.

I'll start with the good. This tile is beautiful. The colors are eye catching and definitely makes a statement. This was a purchase for our fireplace. We needed 20 tiles, so we ordered just that. Our tile guy said that if a tile or two was cracked it wouldn't be a problem. Now the bad. Out of 20 tiles, 10 were cracked, some very extreme. I called Home Depot and because we were over their 60 day policy they wouldn't do a thing about it. They told me that the person that handed me the delivery should have had me open the boxes right then and there. They didn't, and to stay safe, I decided to keep the tiles in their boxes unopened. Yes, the tiles are individually wrapped, but they are individually wrapped in PLASTIC, and stacked on top of each other. No cushion between each tile. Thankfully we had a remarkable tile guy that was able to epoxy these tiles, lay the ones that were severely cracked into less noticeable corners, but we basically bought a case of damaged tiles. I would NOT recommend to buy these tiles through Home Depot unless you plan on doing a cracked mosaic look. I am very disappointed in the customer service, but am glad there is another home improvement store right down the road that will get the remainder of our business.

Thicknesss varies not only between pieces but within each individual piece, making it impossible to install a flat floor or even a flat wall. My contractor decided to tear out the entire installation and start over. Quality control is terrible at the quarry from which this material is mined.

We purchased these tiles for our huge open kitchen. They are just beautiful. They are absolutely stunning & dramatic. I've got pictures, but apparently insufficient # of pixels. If you could see these pix, you'd jump on these tiles. They're the showcase of my great-room! Glad to see they're still available, as I'm thinking of putting them in my new Florida condo too!

Ordered this tile for my upstairs bathroom floor and could not have been more pleased. The tiles came individually wrapped and not a one was chipped or cracked. They have not yet been installed, but I will update this when I do!! Don't buy this tile unless you are wanting a dramatic look!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this tile but the over all color is not the green color but the photo here is true. I purchased a case and keeping it. The green onyx is beautiful even though the brown is throughout the tile the green color is a cool light color. I will use this on bar area.

I purchased these on line as I do 90% of my items. The color is rustic brown with red very rustic looking, not the look I needed but would have kept them if I was going for that look. The quality was fair at best I rated poor because of the cracks and chips in 70% of the case. I had to return these and went with glass tile. Remember they don't look anyting like the photo, nothing.
