We were looking for the look of a tin tile with a less costly and time intensive process. These tiles were a great solution. I definitely recommend following the instructions, drawing out your space and not over gluing the panel. It did take 2 people to install on a ceiling, 1 to guide the tile and one to hold/press into place. Results are well worth it. Would buy this product again.

This product is very lightweight and easy to install. Approx. 1 tube of locktite for each 2.5 tiles.

Our dining room ceiling is swirled drywall with some repaired areas, plus some small, older water stains. My wife loved this idea of covering it with decorative (mock-tin) tiles. These 2' x 4' tiles are a little flimsy, but covered our ceiling pretty easily and quickly, easily gluing over the textured ceiling without any pre-scraping. You really need two people to glue them up. It took my wife and I a couple hours to fully cover our 10' x 13' dining room, plus a bay window ceiling area with a can light. The tiles are easy to cut with large scissors. I also caulked the seams, and painted the entire ceiling to match the crown moulding. We also replaced our dining room chandelier (also ordered online with Home Depot), and I think the whole project turned out great.

These tiles are the world's easiest way to change a shabby ceiling into a showplace ceiling. I got an extra panel to experiment with painting. In a kitchen I wanted to stick with white, but wanted gloss. Once installed they may be difficult to paint, so I hope that will be years away. For this reason I wanted to avoid oil (or alkyd, generally) paint because it will yellow. I had intended to prime with Rustoleum clean metal primer, but found that it is unnecessary. Surprisingly, the plastic takes water base high gloss acrylic enamel beautifully straight from the can. "Ultra white" is so close to the plastic's color that a single coat rolled on with a 3/8" foam roller is all it took. Rollers with 1/2" nap are (wisely) recommended, but weren't easily available in foam. A tip that Global Specialties gave me when I installed tiles in another room isn't in the instructions. Once you have a panel up and in place properly, press it flat against the ceiling by rolling over it with a dry paint roller. The adhesive is thick enough it requires a little force to squish it flat. The 9" square pattern was perfect for a 12' x 12' room. The 6" pattern I think is too busy for anything but a small space. I used a different 12" pattern in a larger space (14' x 28'), where it worked well. It probably would have been fine in this room as well. Another consideration is that a 9" pattern plays well with a standard 9" paint roller.

Easy to install and looks fantastic. We did cut a small piece from the corner of a tile where there were four corners overlapping .

cuts with good scissor ,make over lap seems in one direction, caulk outside edges when installing use Loctite power grip, start from center out.

Beautiful, light weight and so easy to install. Our ceiling was a mess due to prior patching and removed popcorn. Looks great now.

Overall, this is a nice product - easy to use, looks good, decent price. I have one complaint with it: the overlapping seams. I understand the idea behind it, but when you overlap more than 2x, and depending how you lay them out it could be 4x, the edges will not lay flat. I think the better way to go would be butting them up against each other and using a strip to hide the seams. A little more work maybe, but would look nicer when finished.

This product is just what I needed! In a matter of months, the paint in my bathroom ceiling, due to high humidity, always ages prematurely and peels off. It is a problem I have been dealing with for a long while, ever since I bought my house; and it seems I am not alone on this one. At the Depot, I had a chance to talk to others homeowners and even Home Depot employees.. We all face these common disappointments and frustrations in our bathrooms. Well, for me, I think with this product, my worries are finally over. I am sure this is the end of my frustrations! Once installed, these tiles look simply awesome! All I have to do now, is add a wall molding to cover up imperfections at the edges of these tiles.... but in theory, you don't really need them. I recommend these tiles highly... ,

Easy to install for my husband and I. Not sure I could have done it alone as they were pretty floppy. The recommended loctite adhesive bonded them to the ceiling immediately. Took about six hours to do a large room and then install crown moulding. Would recommend to cover damaged ceilings and uneven spots. My ceiling was not finished properly in the first place and this product really made it look a thousand times better!! Not sure yet if I will paint them, they look nice in white so I may not.

Thought it was tin, as stated, or might at least have a tin coated paint. Nope! Plastic! I asked the people at HD if it even remotely resembled tin and they said no. Wasted my time and gas on this.

Gorgeous Ceiling Tins !!

Not just for the ceiling, framed the piece and mounted it behind a steam radiator to protect the wallpaper from peeling. worked out well and looks great.

Would give it a 5 but there were some issues with Indexing we found after getting 1/3 of it up. Also recommend that you use contact cement instead of the tube adhesive. Tube adhesive didn't want to stay in place, kept sagging down. Wasn't sure if the color was a good idea at first but once it was done it looked great. Will be using it for other parts of the house ceilings as well.

Went up easy, some were cut a little off center. What you can’t see in their pictures is, depending on the direction you view the ceiling, some of the overlap seams are visible, but it actually makes it look more like the old tin tiles.

If you are looking for tin do not purchase these. Its plastic.
