The screw drive on mine was not adaptable to an extension.

I had one problem with my installation process. The opener was for a 7 foot door. It said on the box that I would need a extension kit for the eight. So I bought the kit they had at the store. It turned out, wrong kit. Had to order the right kit online. It took a few days, but the store was easy to work with and it was easy to order online. The intallations instructions were great and the parts bags were colored to help with the process. Wouldn't recommend for someone to install without some kind of training and understanding of framing or carpentry background or working with tools.

this thing saved me from buyin a new opener after i installed the 8 ft door . worked very well

Since I have an 8 foot high garage door, I needed to adapt my new Genie opener to operate it. This extension kit was easy to install, and works great!

Good product. I just think it should be part of the purchase. Just because my garage door is 6 in. taller I shouldn't have to pay extra money for an extra 12" of rail.

works as advertised. I would have given it 5 stars but it is not prelubricated.
