So much for lifetime warranty. I'm an original owner of a high-end gut rehab in Chicago. The kitchen faucet is a Grohe pull out faucet. Recently the faucet on the pull out cracked and when I called to get a replacement, they said it was just "normal wear and tear" I take very good care of everything in my unit and can tell you that the crack must have been some sort of defect. I've heard such good things about Grohe standing behind their products. I called customer service and the person I spoke with was incredibly rude. When I asked her how to get a new faucet she told me - "I could go by new one online" in a very snotty manner. Grohe shouldn't say their products have a lifetime warranty if they don't and they shouldn't rack with normal usage.

Hello ,
I am very sorry you have had issues with your Grohe product. The written warranty is below. After years of use there is a time that the manufacture defect ends and it becomes the wear and tear.

Grohe provides a Limited Lifetime Mechanical warranty to the original purchaser when sold and installed in a residential application after January 1, 1997.
A Limited Lifetime Mechanical Warranty is provided on all mechanical parts to be free from manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for as long as the original purchaser owns the product. Proof of Purchase ( copy of your original receipt, purchase order or invoice) , the date the product was purchased and installation date is required.
At the company's discretion, Grohe will preplace any part that proves to be defective in material and/or workmanship under normal installation, use and service. Please note our warranty does not cover normal "wear and tear" to your product and we do not cover installation or any other labor charges.

    Well constructed faucet base
Grohe is among the top-of-the-line in faucets. The Alira is German engineered and designed and assembled in Mexico. I installed the Alira deck mount on a flat stone surface so a hole had to be cut. The switch from faucet stream to spray is easy with a simple press without turning off the water. Both selections work satisfactorily. It has a 1.75 gallon per minute flow on the regular flow position. Valve flow control and temperature operation is great. Smooth control regardless of HOT, COLD or mixed. Grohe Alira Pros: - a heavy, well built brass faucet body - a beautiful stainless finish on the faucet body - the pull-out hose design is well thought out. Instead of a weight to pull the spray head back to faucet, Grohe uses a slinky spring. - install connections for the pull-out sprayer is pretty easy, once you get it figured out Grohe Alira Cons: - install instructions are very vague. No guidance for measurements are provided and no detail for steps for assembly. - while the brass faucet body is very heavy and well designed the pull-out sprayer is plastic with an applied finish. I was very surprised by this and can only think Grohe did this for weight concerns of the sprayer. Other tips: - If you have to drill a hole for the Alira, you need a 1-1/4 inch but no larger than 1-3/8 inch. - You will likely need hose extensions to reach the wall valve stops. The Alira hose connectors were not long enough for me. I believe they are about 16 inches long.

Outstanding Quality and Highly Functional Kitchen Faucet
I have been very satisfied with other Grohe Products and decided to obtain the Grohe Alira Single-Handle Pull-Out Sprayer Kitchen Faucet in Stainless Steel. As expected the build quality and finish are outstanding, and the performance is superb. Because my sink has three mounting holes, I chose to purchase the Grohe 10 inch Stainless Steel Escutcheon, which is a perfect match. After using it for several weeks, I am very impressed with the quality, aesthetics and functionality of the faucet. Installation of the Grohe Alira Kitchen Faucet is not difficult. As with other Grohe Products I have installed, the instructions are very basic and rely heavily on graphic diagrams. Unusual for this faucet is the long “slinky style” spring to retract the pull-out handle. I found this method works better than a weight attached to the hose under the sink. The handle has a soft touch dual-spray control that extends out 36 inches. It includes a ceramic cartridge and thermostatic mixing valve for maintenance free use. The soft rubber spray nozzles also easily removes lime buildup at the touch of a hand. The only negative for the Grohe Alira Kitchen Faucet is the high cost. However, the quality and appearance are top of the line. It comes with a limited-lifetime warranty for all mechanical parts, and a 5-year warranty for the finish.

        Great faucet
I installed this faucet for my mother 14 yrs ago and just had to replace a couple parts and Grohe sent his out fast and no charge. This has been a great faucet. All these people leaving poor reviews i bet is from poor installation. I seen it is discontinued but I would recommend Grohe to anyone and trust me I don’t do that much

          Low Flow Rate
Flow rate is too low making it almost useless for a kitchen sink.

Thank you for your feedback on this product. We recommend pulling the flow restrictor out of the back of the spray head to help increase flow. If this does not help please contact us at 800-444-7643 to try some troubleshooting to find the problem and fix it or have the parts replaced.

Our old faucet, 20 years old, was a Grohe so we were very surprised and pleased to find the perfect replacement at Home Depot. So far the new faucet meets all our specs. A perfect match with our Corian counter tops.

Very easy to install. The only issue was with the spring on the hose. The directions are not clear. You need to put the "stop" on the hose so the spring will "seat" against the stop at the base of the faucet. Grohe did not have any better directions "online" either. It now works perfectly.

            Kitchen Faucet Genius
Another superb GHOHE faucet. I love the stainless steel that doesn't show fingerprints and wipes off cleanly faucet makes it a suburb. This may be one of the best yet. With a 3 foot pull out sprayer, it can reach cans, and other items on the floor for easy filling and gives a 140 degree function. GHOHE has now made, it seems, a system to automatically clean lime and other deposits that always accumulate where hard water is a problem. I appreciate thier faucets and they really last!

Product arrived without key pieces. The plumber we hired and stayed home from work to ensure installation could not complete the work. Phone call to customer service at Grohe only played music. Return to Home Depot was smooth but an undesired trip. If you are going to charge top dollar please ship all the parts!

Short Height is good for Tight Places ; Built like Gold
This is my second favorite brand, and not my first due to its high price. Grohe make expensive faucets, but their valves are number one. They move effortlessly & I've had some for 6 years that still move like day 1. Just a little Calcium-Lime-Rust spray cleaning every 6 months. I like the simple & minimal look of this particular Grohe Alira model over many other Grohe faucets. The directions are not the best, but when it's all done you will sit back and realize that you have something special.. which the neighbors probably don't have in their kitchen.

            Grohe is Great
Grohe has always been synonymous with excellent plumbing products, so when the opportunity arose to try this Alira kitchen faucet in stainless steel, I jumped at it. From the outset, I could tell this was a quality faucet-- the brushed finish is flawless, the handle moved smoothly, and the fit of each component was spot on. The installation was easy, and within half an hour I had the faucet installed and in use. I like the size of the pull-out spray head-- it's a bit smaller than other makes, which makes it more attractive, in my opinion, and easier to direct. The response of the soft-touch spray control is immediate, and I also noticed the spray nozzles themselves were of a softer rubber, making them a breeze to keep clean. It should be noted the area I live has a very high concentration of lime in the water, so having the SpeedClean anti-lime system and those jets are a real godsend. All in all, this Grohe Alira costs more than some other manufacturers' offerings, but for years of top performance in your kitchen, the Alira is definitely well worth its price.

            High Quality - But Pricey
Grohe builds some of the best faucets in the industry and this is a nice example. The shorter height fits better in many kitchens than the high-arc heights of others. The finish is gorgeous and the operation flawless. On the downside, the instructions are the old-style graphic-only type with no helpful hints and tiny print - so you'll probably spend more time installing this faucet than comparable ones. Has stainless braided lines, an advantage over the plastic lines of other brands. No 3 hole deck plate cover or soap dispenser included, which might be expected in this price range.

            Excellent Faucet
I was looking for a new faucet for one of my sinks. I decided that a pull out sprayer would be a nice upgrade and you can't go wrong with the quality of a Grohe fixture. This Alira single handle pull out sprayer faucet is a great choice. The stainless steel finish is beautiful and looks like a piece of jewelry. The handle and base are all metal, but the actual sprayer nozzle has a plastic head with the rubber spray holes that make this an outstanding faucet. If you every have hard-water buildup this material makes it easy to remove the calcium deposits and prevent blockage. The installation was a little challenging for me but I re-read the instructions several times and found a few videos on YouTube that helped. It turned out great and I am very pleased. Turning on and off feels great, and pulling the sprayer out is smooth, no tugging. I like the button that changes the water stream, very convenient. Grohe designs great faucets. They are a little more expensive, but remember, "you get what you pay for."

Never Had A Faucet as Nice as THIS!!!
We absolutely love this faucet. Our old one had become lime clogged and this one has prevention of that built in, so it was particularly attractive to us. My husband, who installed it, says that his only complaint is that the instructions were not very clear. I suspect most people would have it installed by a plumber, but I'm lucky and my husband can do it. WE LOVE IT and highly recommend.

            Nice faucet
I was deciding between a moen and this one. I choose this one because smaller in height and length . It functions very well . Spray goes off automatically after you turn off water it goes back to stream. -A little bit more than I wanted to spend but other GROHE PRODUCTS last and I want something that will not have to be changed anyttime soon. I recommend if you can afford. It only hurts once when U get the bill.

              Grohe Alira Faucet
Replaced existing kitchen faucet and was pleasantly surprised at the ease of installation. Had read other reviews indicating that the installation was a nightmare with very poor instructions provided. One tip I gleaned was not to use the plastic collar if faucet is mounted directly on a substantial counter-top (granite, quartz, etc). Otherwise, followed instructions that came with the product. If you are able to 'read' diagrams it shouldn't be a problem. Once the old faucet was removed, the new Grohe took about 30 minutes to install and reconnect hot/cold feeds. Not sure why so many people seem to be having trouble with the pull out hose, as mine is working fine. I'm not a plumber, just an occasionally handy homeowner. I'm pleased with how smoothly the faucet works and it is easy to adjust the water flow. Also pleased with the Home Depot price which was significantly less than purchasing at a plumbing supply business.
