bought 3 units which is just fair, the fan on the units are much less than desired. The heating is sufficient and the ac is not as expected. When the temp gets up over 100 the performance is poor especially the fan part which is almost non existent. If it were able to blow harder it might become good from fair. The outside unit is great that is it's quieter than a normal central ac unit.

I purchased this product in 4/15 and the heater went out 6 monthes out of warranty so if you purchase this unit be sure to buy the extended warranty. In the up side the unit worked very well for 2 1/2 years

I have used mine to heat my small cabin and it worked just fine for three years. This year the heater completely quit working and I was told that it would be costly to repair. I am going to keep it as an air conditioner and purchase a separate heater. Breaking down after three years is not worth it.

was very simple to set up and get running. Does a great job of keeping the temperature even in our sun room.

The A/C works good once you figure out the operation instructions that came with the unit. The instructions for setting up the timer function in the manual are the opposite for what you should do. In other words, the operation instruction are incorrect. At one point I though the unit was broken and was getting ready to return it to the store.

easy install and works great

It is great for keeping my backyard shop comfortable year round. I wish the on board thermostat would allow me to set the temp range much broader so I could save money during the week when the shop is empty. I'm overhearing it in the winter until I can wire in an external thermostat. Other than that it's been perfect!

Easy replacement for old unit just slides in great

Sooo loud. Have two in a 1 bd 600 sq ft apt. Has a hard time keeping it cool.

Slid right into sleeve, plugged in t'stat and power. started right away and seems to be more quiet than the Amana it replaced. Must be more efficient as elect bill dropped slightly.

The world of PTAC is a difficult one to navigate, as the options within these same-size cases are many. Heat pump, electric backup, etc. GREE has a substantial range of possibilities and builds the products well. There is a comment here about purchasing the correct pigtail for the PTAC, and I'm puzzled about that. He stated he couldn't find the right outlet. Why not just purchase the correct pigtail and install it? The previous review includes nothing about GREE's performance, which is very good. Price wise, GREE products are not impressive or even terribly competitive. I would hope if you needed 20 of them or more you could get a better price, but if purchasing just one you're paying a bit of a premium. GREE does back up their products with an outstanding warranty, and for some the moderately premium price is more than compensated for by the company behind the product. With a specialty item, a $100-200 premium may just be worth the extra money up front. You will not be disappointed by the build quality, performance or warranty of these PTAC units. I own two of them, and am thoroughly satisfied. Maintenance (filters) is easy, and the filters are accessible and durable.

So far so good, only one month of service. This unit is typical of hospitality equipment. I feel this product is commercial grade and is a good value. I have thirty plus years in the HVAC industry.

We ordered 4 of these for apartments. They came in a timely manner but with a fatal flaw - the plug. It is not a standard 220/240v, 30A plug. The big box stores do not carry an outlet that works with the plug (which isn't too surprising) but neither do any of the electrical supply houses. They couldn't even special order them. The salesman at the electrical supply house said he had never seen a plug like this in 30 years of selling electrical parts. He speculated that they might be more common in Europe. We had to have an electrician put a new plug ("pig tail") on each of the units to make them usable.
