Definitely quieter!
This dishwasher is really quiet; you can barely hear it--even when I'm the only one in the house and standing right next to it! Unfortunately, the drying capability isn't impressive. We've used the HEAVY cycle with STEAM on, and SANI and HEATED DRY settings on-- so that 271 (degrees F) is displayed. We've had to lessen the load we're trying to wash, which means leaving more space between bowls in the upper rack. The (empty) front rack tends to slide out on its own when the door is open-- perhaps due to the front of the washer lower than the back? All in all, it's a GOOD (decent) dishwasher, especially for the quiet operation. Time will tell if it holds up to daily use.

    Quiet and hard-working
We have been using this dishwasher for over a month now. It is MUCH quieter than our old model - you can hardly tell that it is running. It does a great job getting dishes clean on top and bottom racks. The Slate color and top controls look great too.

    I love it!
It took a bit to realize that ONLY Cascade Platinum would clean without residue but now that’s done I absolutely love this machine! I have wanted one for a while. It’s quiet, has easy to get to filters to clean , and makes the cutest song when done.

      Great Features!!
I have had this dishwasher for a couple months and I LOVE everything about it from the exterior to the interior. Not only is it pleasing to the eye, but it is also quiet when running.

        Dishwasher
Only complaint was that the fitting( 90% elbow) to connect to the water line was not included ..It would have been nice to know that we needed to purchase that before we left the store. Maybe that should be in bold print on the exterior container or on a sticker on the appliance.

          Detergent cups poor quality
The dishwasher was great for about 9 months. After that, the dispensing cup failed to open, even when manually pushing the button.

          It doesn't clean the dishes
We had an old set of GE appliances for 15 years that worked great. We updated our kitchen and wanted new appliances. We liked the slate finish and replaced everything; dishwasher, refrigerator and stove/oven. The dishwasher doesn't seem to work right. It leaves soap residue on dishes and silverware. We have tried several different types of soap, but can't seem to get it to work right. Even put it on the heavy cycle thinking it would wah longer, but still not cleaning the dishes. It is only a couple of months old. Not sure why?? I think the soap door isn't opening properly or at the right time.

          Worst Dishwasher Ever Purchased
This was the third dishwasher I purchased and installed, and I have never had a problem with a new installation. We purchased this dishwasher to match our new refrigerator, so it sat in the box in my garage for just over a year before I installed it (old one worked fine). So no warranty, and my fault. After installation, I ran the first load and it started leaking all over my hardwood floors. There is no float mechanism to shut off the valve if the electronics on the valve malfunction. The technician came out, told me it was a defective valve, and told me he would rather I replace the valve (it needed to be ordered, and he was very busy). So I ordered the valve, replaced it, and the leaking problem was solved. Unfortunately, I quickly learned that the door latch is very temperamental. The unit is absolutely installed correctly, but the door latch doesn't always want to close (yes, it's properly loaded too, level, etc.). Sometimes we have to close it 10 times or so before it will stay closed, and sometimes the door will open again part way though a cycle. I thought about ordering a new latch, but will probably just buy a new dishwasher. The new dishwasher will absolutely not be a GE.

          Immediate disappointment
Does not dry well; requires up to 50 minutes extra (energy expense) time - suggestion is "to leave door open" just like "hang the clothes out to dry if dryer doesn't complete task" ; No user or operator manual - necessary to print off at my time and expense( 29 pages) - Same new story - higher prices, less quality

Really good but takes too long
I love the effectiveness of this dishwasher! However, cleaning dishes (no matter what the features selected) shouldn't take 3–4 hours!

              Exactly what we needed!
Having never shopped for a dishwasher before, I really didn't know what to be look for in a new dishwasher. We love the silverware baskets being on the end of the racks, as it frees up rack space for other dishes. The controls are easy to use. It runs much quieter than our previous dishwasher, although it is taking some getting used to with the wash cycle sounds.

worse than the dishwasher i replaced
Thought I could trust the GE name but I was wrong. I own this dishwasher for 4 months. It has already been replaced under warranty once because the dishes werent drying at all. Where do I begin, first this dish washer takes hours to complete a cycle and if heaven forbid anybody opens it before completion, you will have to hand dry the dishes. We paid for a low noise rating, yet this washer has an annoying low pitched screetching sound during cleaning. the bottom pull out rack comes off the track almost every time its pulled out. The dishsoap is left in the bottom of the dishwasher after the completion and isnt dispersed, so I am to assume the dishes are'nt even clean. The dishes have to be rinsed off, WELL, before putting in the washer otherwise after one day, the smell from the washer is intolerable. I dont know if it has to do with the stainless steel or an oddly tight seal when closed which causes bacteria to grow very quickly. I never had this happen with my old dishwasher. The dishes are never fully dry and there is at least 2 dishes that are'nt clean after the cycle. There is no paper manual, only online, which is very inconvenient. We are so sorry we bought this, we waited a very long time to replace our other model and now we miss it.

                GE dishwasher purchase
I bought this to replace an existing older washer that wasn't cleaning well. It was a tight fit with all the sound dampening fabric on the sides. It is very quiet and cleans very well. Love the buttons on the top of the door and has a very clean look to it. Really happy with the silverware baskets on the front of the pull out trays. Gives lots of extra space for larger items. Cheaper online than in the store. Really happy with it.

                Waste of money
After dealing with this product's inability to successfully dry the top shelf as well as fully clean the soap residue off of the soap dispenser for two years it conveniently stopped pumping water into the basin. GE's support model suggests "tapping" on things (flood sensor) and refer's the customer to one of the worst rated repair services on the internet. It's too bad no other manufacturers offer appliances in Slate.

                  DO NOT BUY!
This is the WORST dishwasher I have ever owned. We have only owned the dishwasher for 4 months. Door does not latch properly, dishes are always soaking wet when the cycle is finished, soap dispenser rarely opens, and when it does, it just leaks all over the silverware basket. The dishwasher also leaks from the left corner. We have to put a bowl underneath the door to catch the leaking water. Luckily, GE is replacing the washer with another model for free. I don't recommend this dishwasher to anyone.

                  Great Dishwasher
This was a great purchase and update to our kitchen. We needed a new dishwasher that would produce little to no noise. At 48 decibels, this unit has delivered and complements are other GE Appliances in our kitchen. Would recommend.

                    So fresh and so clean
This is an exceptional piece of equipment! I found it best, that if you are using a cleaning pouch make sure no silverware is in front of the compartment. If so, the dishwasher will not clean dishes to its full potential!

                      Terrible purchase
We purchased this dishwasher new in 2014 and have had issues with the door not closing since purchase. I researched the problem through GE's website http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17527 and waited as instructed hoping it would get better. This was far from the case. It is poorly engineered. If you look at other brands, it is the only one to have a plastic door clamp and not a metal latch. I had to try and start a load of dishes 7 times the other night before it would start. Will not even start with dishwasher empty at times. Contacted GE about the problem and they said my warranty was expired (luckily I purchased an extended warranty through HD) and they couldn't even provide service in my area. GE offered for me to get a new device at a discounted rate, but later took back their offer. Poor customer service and GE does not stand by their produces. I purchased the Slate finish so now when I switch brands it wouldn't match. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!

                        absolutely the WORST
If there was zero stars I would give it that! I have had this dishwasher for less than 2 years and while many of the complaints others have mentioned (have to set it at "heavy" to get dishes clean, etc) ring true, I am most frustrated by the fact that it is broken all together now. I have had a repair company out here several times and each time one part that needs to be fixed leads to another. GE is aware of the parts negatively affecting each other and even though I haven't had to pay more for each additional part, I have been left without a dishwasher for many weeks now, waiting on the hope they might send the right part! I also have review in for the other appliances that came with this "package" we bought, which are equally disappointing!

buy this get the extra Warranty! It just replaced the dish washer, too much broken to fix. the electronics dead, the main sprayer came off and melted on the drying element, plastic on the drying element, one of the rollers on the main try broke. Also be patient on the warranty it has been 3 weeks since I requested service, now I have to wait for another phone call from warranty to let me know officially it will be sending me a check, Not sure how much. another week I was told. Looks Good But Functionality Is Poor
This dishwasher is small - due to poor design. The design of the silverware tray being in the front (attached to front of the dishwasher) really takes away a lot of space. In order to get the door to shut properly and for the detergent door to open properly you can not put silverware in the bottom left center of the silver war tray.

                              Wish I had returned it
Let's see if I can effectively put into words how much I despise this dishwasher... We've had this dishwasher for three months now. It was a decent price and we liked the buttons on the top (we have little kids who like to push buttons literally and figuratively). Not long after getting it I started to have second thoughts. I now wish I would have sucked it up and returned it. I had to bump the settings up to get most of the dishes clean (I'd say I can get about 80% of our dishes clean now). This particular cycle takes three hours. I don't know how the dishwasher works when it's closed, but I envision GE put one of those tiny squirt guns in there from the dollar store and it just kinda comes out when I shut the door and squirts the dishes. We refer to it as our 'dish rinser' and I have to remind my teenage daughter she needs to wash her dishes before putting it into our 'dish rinser'. The utensil rack in the front seemed like a novel idea, until I ran my first set of dishes and realized the sprayers can't even reach the utensils effectively. AND...if I don't position the utensils *just right* the door won't shut all the way. The interior of the dishwasher door is scratched up because the utensils rub right up against it. THEN...the door might shut. But it might not. But either way I won't know because the cycle will still start! Which means I have water dripping out the sides of the machine onto my floor. OR...it will pop open mid cycle and I'll come back three hours later and find out 0% of my dishes have been cleaned. This is by far the worst appliance I have ever bought and I will definitely think twice before purchasing another GE product again. A shame because we are planning on updating all of our appliances soon. This dishwasher included.

                                Worst purchase ever
I was not impress with the GE Adora top control dishwasher, for one the dishes did not get dry with the two loads I did, dishes were dripping wet after the dry cycle. The Lower pull out draw when loaded drops & hands on the door and it has to be lifted from both front corners to finish pulling it out and if not careful it will drop off the track. So I give this GE Dishwasher a two thumbs down review I would have thought GE would be top of the line since they have been in business since around 1892, being in business for that long you would think that everything they make would be superior to any other product on the market but that is just my opinion. The Adora Gas Range I bought with this dishwasher , the oven had something wrong with it from out of the box. So no recommendations there either I returned both to HOME DEPOT for a full refund. Do not purchase on line through PayPal , there will be no record of receipt at HOME DEPOT and it is very difficult to return. You will be told NON Refundable . Double check everything before you buy. Read all reviews on each product you are interested in.

                                Horrible washer
Listen to these reviews. I wish we did. Dishwasher does not clean dishes at all. All of the soap is still sitting in the door after cycle. Cycles are long. First dishwasher came with loose handle, second doesn't clean dishes. The heating element doesn't work and leaves everything wet and then washer smells like stagnant water. Pay more if you want a GE. Avoid this model!
