Bring back!
Bring this dishwasher back. Our kitchen is way too small for a regular one. The one we have is dying and I need a replacement!

Gave us the best years of its life
Title: "The Great Dishwasher Rebellion: A Comedy of Suds and Sorrow" Oh, the saga of my GE dishwasher – a tragicomedy that rivals Shakespearean tales! This rebellious contraption has declared war on dirty dishes, and alas, the battle has left me in stitches. From its mysterious clunks to its waterworks that rival Niagara Falls, this dishwasher has a flair for the dramatic. It's not just an appliance; it's a diva demanding attention with every spin cycle. I must confess, the soap dispenser has mastered the art of surprise. Will it release detergent gracefully, or will it launch a soapy rebellion across my kitchen? It's a game of chance, and I've become an unwitting contestant. The door, oh, the door! It swings open with such gusto that I half-expect it to break into a musical number. Perhaps a dishwasher-themed rendition of "I Will Survive." After all, it has survived countless dinner parties and spaghetti-night catastrophes. And let's not forget the grand finale – the dishwasher's pièce de résistance: a symphony of clinks and clanks that could rival a percussion ensemble. It's like having a dishwasher and a drum set all in one – truly a multitasking marvel. In conclusion, my GE dishwasher has transformed dishwashing into a riveting comedy, complete with unexpected plot twists and a cast of characters that includes stubborn spinach bits and elusive fork tines. It might be broken, but it's broken with style. Bravo, GE, bravo!

          Newer model, lesser features
This unit was purchased to replace an older model that had seen better days. While it does run quieter than the previous model, the redesigned lower tray makes it much more difficult to fit our dishes then the previous tray. The locking mechanism for the door is also much less sturdy, and the soft touch buttons on the front panel feel as if they may come loose at any time. in addition to all of this, it seems to take longer to run a lower than the previous model. So this leaves us with a dishwasher that takes longer to run, and can fit fewer dishes per load. It was nice to find this model available for purchase, considering we cannot fit a full-size dishwasher in our current space, but the minor differences in features compared to the previous model are something of a disappointment.

Poor redesign. This is my third GE Spacemaker dishwasher. The first lasted 24 years. The second lasted 10 years. I have had this one for about a month. If you are looking to save space on a dishwasher, this model is a decent choice. It does save space, and it does get the dishes clean. However, the latest model has one annoying fault: the redesign of the lower rack. Now, if you place cereal bowls in the deeper outermost recesses of the lower rack, you cannot place dinner plates in the next row, or the water flow will be blocked from the bowls. In some of the rows, my ordinary (10 1/2 inch) dinner plates rub against the upper rack. It is possible to work around these issues, but overall, with these new shortcomings, the capacity of the lower rack is diminished. It disappoints me that the previous models were more to my liking than the new one.

              It is a great dishwasher!
I had this dishwasher installed today. The installers were friendly, kept me informed and of course took my old dishwasher away. I ran the dishwasher today and it works great. My only issie is that there is an oder when it is running. I heard it is common and it will go away after a few was cycles. I even took the 5 year protection plan! A lot of people say that it is noisy but it is not any nosier than any other dishwasher i had. Makes noises just like a washer would.

Very Poor Quality - especially considering the exorbitant price
We've had the prior model for three years - the plastic finish on the tray is worn out on the points, and there are spots where it is beginning to rot (not rust - rot - the metal is boiling up and flaking apart). The body is cheap injection molded plastic - why does it cost so much then? Novelty The plastic internal sprayer becomes brittle and the retainer clip broke while the GE technician was clearing a clogged drain (the clog was our fault). Resulted in what would have been a very costly repair had we attempted to clear it ourselves... Over all it's an intriguing design but the quality is so poor I would sacrifice cabinet space for a better made dishwasher and save your money and disappointment on this one.

                  Bring this model back please!
GE was the only one to make this model, I have a client who has this in their hotels across the country and need replacements! There is literally NOTHING out there like this. GE should reconsider bringing this model back! The alternative is to have them redo their millwork and cabinetry!

Please bring back this Under the Sink Offering!
I saw that your GE Spacesaver Under the Sink dishwasher is no longer being manufactured. I am very disappointed. I am so happy with my GE Under the Sink dishwasher. I have been using it for years. It is great. I visited a friend's home over the weekend. Their kitchen needed this dishwasher, but I can't recommend it because it is no longer being manufactured. I don't know what I will do when I need a new one. My kitchen is too small for a regular dishwasher that is not under the sink. My friend's kitchen is too small for a regular dishwasher also. They need one that fits under the sink. Please reconsider making this "Under the Sink" dishwasher again. I know there are many homeowners that can benefit with an under the sink dishwasher. Most just don't know about it. I wouldn't have known about this type of dishwasher if I hadn't lived in an apartment that had one. Please reconsider making this dishwasher again, a perfect solution for a small kitchen that has no room for a regular dishwasher.

Cleans well but way too small inside
Cleans very well, even pots and pans. With use of finishing product in reservoir, no spots are on glasses or silverware. Heat dry does dry very well. The reason it's 3 stars is the size. I had to buy smaller dishes, my dinner plates would not fit. The top shelf is really only a half shelf. The back of that shelf is ok for very short things, like little pet bowls or spatulas, but doesn't fit even short glasses. My previous dishwasher was full size and this one seems apartment sized on the inside, although the outside is the same size.

                          Inferior product
Had this installed 4/13/2019. Barely used as we handwash dishes most of the time. Not draining water as of today, 7/21/2023. Motor gone. Expected it would last much longer than 4 years. Very disappointed.

                            Never had a dishwasher before
We designed our small kitchen around this dishwasher. My mother has one in her small apartment and it works great for her. We had a hard time finding one. Had it installed on 5/1/23. We were able to do 4 loads before it stopped working. Waiting for the factory service person to come. Two weeks for an appointment.Since it is no longer manufactured, if it needs to be replaced, how will that be accomplished?

I've lived with this dishwasher for 30 years
I'm on my second "spacemaker" dishwasher. It does a decent job of washing, but the space is quite limited. The first one finally died after 20 some years and one new motor. The new one is only a few years old the the bottom rack is rusting badly. I can't seem to find a replacement anywhere. Anyone else out there that has been able to find a repalcement bottom rack?

No where near the quality for the price
For as much as this dishwasher costs, I feel that it doesn't line up with the others on the market. When your budget for your kitchen doesn't include a total remodel and this is your only option- it just seems unfair. The price is very high and the quality is low. We've replaced the dishwasher once already and the highly expensive racks keep rusting! The only metal being washed is our silverware - everything else is ceramic or plastic. I'd love to replace our racks a 3rd time, but I can't justify the price. Cleaning the filter is a nightmare compared to other dishwashers on the market. After all these years this dishwasher hasn't moved forward in ease of upkeep or nor quality for the price. GE do better!

                                    Special features, looks great
This is a very unique dishwasher as it fits under a sink. The tube is smaller to accommodate this special feature. This product is not manufactured anymore. It was very hard to find. Looking forward to a long relationship with this dishwasher. I have always trusted GE products. I expect no problems.

                                      It gets the dishes clean
This model is definitely better than the Spacesaver model I had before, which I hadn't used for several years because it leaked. The new one is quieter and has a larger top rack. It gets the dishes perfectly clean on the Normal cycle without any rinsing beforehand. (I generally rinsed the dishes with the old one.) My chief criticism is the low clearance between the racks, which requires me to lean my dinner plates sideways and makes it difficult to be able to position the top rack over the bottom one. I haven't yet figured out how to fit a dinner plate into each slot of the lower rack, the way the owner's manual shows, and still be able to slide both racks fully into the machine. As a result, my recommendation applies only to people who require an under-the-sink dishwasher.

Greetings - We appreciate the honest review and feedback here. It is super helpful to us. We're really happy to hear that you are enjoying the dishwasher overall and that you are getting good cleaning performance. That is something we definitely focus on when designing our newer dishwashers. At the end of the day a dishwasher should be great at cleaning dishes. However, we are sorry to hear about racks not working well for you, we definitely can see that some space management is needed. This knowledge is certainly going to be sent over to our design team for review. Thank you so much for choosing GE Appliances. Stay safe out there. Jonathon@GEA

It is not a good dishwasher but it fits under our sink. No one else makes one that could fit. The one it replaced, did not even last 7 years. We were only running when full, which amounted to only twice a week. These are quite expense. Our repair man said this new one would probably only last about 5 years.

We do hate to hear you have concerns over the internal capacity as well as an issue with the dishes not drying well; we know any issues like those may be concerning, and regret any inconvenience caused. We will certainly pass on your thoughts to our Dishwasher Design team – we always like to know what our consumers think of our models, so your insights are appreciated. Regarding the issue you’ve had with your dishes not getting dry, you may want to make sure the water temperature is at least 120 degrees F. Selecting Heated Dry and/or Hot Start may help make sure the water is the right temperature to provide the best possible performance. Using a rinse agent may also help dry your dishes. If it might be useful, we have a Troubleshooting Tips section listed in the manual, starting on page 18: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-55114-1.PDF& . Niche model, serves its purpose and works well
Because of limited space we needed a dishwasher that would fit under a kitchen sink, still have a reasonable amount of available space and work well. This unit fits the job nicely. Check the online installation manual before buying to make sure that you have the necessary clearances.
