I love it, especially with the correct pans. I'm on my third set, trying to find the best for my preferences. I tried the tri-ply stainless, but due to sticking, it drove me crazy and I didn't want to re-learn how to cook with all stainless. I tried the non-stick pans with only the stainless base & they stink. They took too long to heat up and seemed to heat up only at the stainless base. I finally found stainless with a non-stick coating and now I am VERY pleased. The cooktop works like a dream and the clean up is extremely easy. The simmer (L) function will keep food warm for hours and not overcook. The high (H) function will boil your water in seconds to minutes (depending on the pan size). I don't like knobs, so the touch feature is better, but your fingers must be dry to use them. Any moisture cancels out your touch and they won't work. It would've been nice to have the burners outlined a little more. You can barely tell where the burner is, unless a light is shining down on the cooktop. I'm not sure about the efficiency but assume it will be better than electric. The built in timer is a nice bonus feature. My only wish is that we would've gotten this sooner.

We bought this cooktop from Home Depot about 1 year ago. It's been holding up well. My wife hated the electric cooktop and wanted gas but our house wasn't piped for gas. It would have cost quite a bit to run gas. But she loves this induction cooktop. Some nice things about induction: food doesn't stick to the cooktop. Since the cooktop doesn't get as hot as a standard electric cooktop, spilled foods don't cook onto the cooktop. That makes for easy cleaning. There is some heat transfer from the pan to the cooktop but it's nowhere near as hot as an electric. Heats like gas: The reaction time to when the pan starts heating is almost instantaneous. You put the pan on the top and you can feel the heat start to build up. . Turns off automatically when you take the pot off the top. It looks as good today as it did when we first bought it. Some downsides that are common to all induction is that you have to have special pans. They have to be magnetic. If a magnet doesn't stick to the pot, base, it won't work on this cooktop. They don't have to be expensive. We found some pans from Ikea that work fine. For the 36" cooktop, you'll need a 50 amp line. For the 30" it's a 40 amp. The hook up was simple. 3 wires and you're done. Anyone competent with electrical should be able to hook it up for you if you're not comfortable with it (turn your breaker off).

I had my induction cooktop installed during kitchen renovation a month ago. With the Renovation I switched to GE Profile appliances thinking they were upgrade from my LG appliances. Loved induction. Its great! After about a month of cooking on it, two nights ago I heard a pop while cleaning the cooktop. Now the two big burners and the other little burner on that side dont stay on. GE repairman says the board is down and needs to be replaced. This is not the first one he has seen. Only a month. Sure, they will have the parts here in two days and repair it on Monday but its Mother's day weekend and I have a lot of company coming and no working cooktop! Not Happy. The boards are about 1/3 of the price of the cooktop. What am I in for here? Not happy and worried that I decided to switch to GE Profile appliances.

I was able to buy this cooktop for about 800 less than the full price as it has been discontinued. I had only read about the plus points of induction cooking and when remodeling my kitchen gas was not an option in my area. So I bought this model and I learned right away from a friend that has one that to know if you have the right pan or not, Simple way to know, if a magnet sticks to the bottom of your pan then your pan will cook correctly. I had to give a way a couple of my pans but I use all-clad and every one of them work beautifully! The even and quick heating still has me in total amazement! love it! will never have anything else.

I wanted a GE Product in my remodeled kitchen because a GE Refrigerator that my Parents bought in 1940 is still going strong even though it has never needed a repair!! I enjoy using this induction type, sleek looking, easy to clean cooktop. It accommodates 5 pots/pans and cooks with the responsiveness of gas but is much safer to use because there is no open flame and there are no knobs to clean around. When I am not cooking on it, it can be used as additional counter space. I am hoping my 2009 purchase will perform as well as my Parents' 1940 purchase. So far - so good ...

I had a one burner induction unit and decided to go with induction in my dream kitchen. I will never have anything different. It is the very best. It has surpassed all my expectations. Every one I know wants one. The features are endless and the ease of cleaning us the biggest plus EVER. Just a warm damp cloth and a little drying with a towel and it is perfect.

I've been using this cooktop for four months and am totally impressed. A watched pot actually boils quickly. Cleanup is a breeze. The touch controls could be a bit more sensitive, but it works great in every other way.

INSTALLATION WAS EASY. UNIT WORKS GREAT. HEATS WATER TO A ROLLING BOIL QUICKLY AND CONTROLS RETURN TO SIMMER ACCURATELY.

I love love it! Water comes to a boil quickly, food cooks evenly. No worries about touching a hot surface when burners are off. Very easy to clean. Look greats and compliments my kitchen! A great product. Couldn't be happier with my choice.

Don't worry if you hear a humming when its on high, that's normal. Love the timer, love that there is an option to lock the controls yet still be able to use the timer. It works just like a gas stove if not faster boil time!! Excellent stovetop, don't buy anything else. I have owned a gas stove, electric stovetop, and this buy far is the best!

I bought the cook top about 3 months ago, and I haven't regretted it for a moment. My wife, who hates to cook, will on occasion use it. The temp control is just like gas, it heats up fast just like gas, and it stops cooking once you lower the temp - just like gas. If there was one item I would change is that the heating eyes are hard to see. I would make them stand out a little more.

Replaced old electric cooktop with the new induction cooktop when moving into newly-purchased home. Had induction in previous home, and all the induction cookware, so preferred staying with it.

This cooktop performs as well as a gas cooktop with features that are better than a gas cooktop we previously were acustomed to use.

Only realized that the cooktop required 12 to 14 inches of clearance for proper venting and prevention of combustion at time of installation. So, that utensil drawer I had build on the new island had to go. But it's all good! I love how quickly I can bring a pot to boil now and cleanup is a breeze. Since I can not have natural gas in my kitchen, this is the next best thing.

kind of let down with this unit. the touch sensors are kind of picky it takes alot of poking to turn it all the way up. the large burner is not very good i have a pan that is large and fits it but it doesn't get hot enough. and some times when you put two pans on one side you get a very annoying humming/ pulsing sound coming from the unit. and it's loud enough that my guests have commented about it.

I like to cook on cast iron so this induction cooktop was a perfect fit when remodeling my kitchen. It is super fast at heating my pans, yet cools just as quickly. The stove top is easy to keep clean and looks very smart in my kitchen. Giving operation instructions to my stay-over guests has not been an issue. Even my 12 year old granddaughter found it simple to use. My only caution is don't run away as foods will cook faster so stay nearby and monitor whatever you are cooking. It won't be long before you bring a delicious treat to the table.

We love our Stovetop....it is super efficient; cooks fast and well and I never have to worry about burning my pots and pans because the heat is applied at the molecular level, not by direct heat or flame. Although the functionality is amazing, I would have opted for the Stainless Steel trim - within days of installing the stovetop, a bowl made contact with the side of the glass and chipped it. Now I have to be very careful cleaning the edges so that I don't cut myself and I have to live knowing that the glasstop is chipped. Had I bought the SS trim this would likely not have happened, but I would never have guessed that the glass would break so easily. So....5 STARS for performance.... I took one star for quality. I do recommend this product....but recommend it with the SS Trim.....cheers

3 months old, Performing as advertised. Place to touch for actual "on/off", including "controls" could be better defined. Cleaning was difficult at first but has been easier after some use. Use does require some "getting used to".

I cannot tell you how much I love this cooktop! Sleek, fast to boil water, very adjustable controls, and scratch and dirt resistant. make sure your induction cookware is completely flat on the bottom otherwise it will hum.

My husband hates this ONLY because it takes forever to cook his eggs...the only thing he makes EVER. I however like it a lot, especially how fast it can boil water. I had to buy all new cookware for the induction, which was fine but costly. It is gorgeous and user friendly, but definitely takes some getting used to. We've only had electric.

I just switched from gas to induction. I have been cooking with gas all my life so this was a hard decision! The two main things that made me switch to induction: 1) Easier to control low point simmer and 2) Easier to clean up. I am so happy with this product!! It really does boil water in a minute and I can really simmer!! My gas cooktop did not have low simmer points so even on the smallest burner with the metal plate over the flame, it still boiled. I am still getting used to how quickly the cooktop responds but I am loving this! AND, I love to cook alot!!

I got induction cooktop in November 2014 because I couldn't have gas. I am so glad I have it rather than gas because it is so much faster and easier. Still learning cooking settings and how to keep it clean.
