Nice unit
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had no trouble with the installation. It took about 45 minutes. After installing it I put it to the test. I like the fact that it did a better cleaning job then the old unit and it did it have the time the old one did.

    Not so good...
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this dishwasher not quite 3 months ago. It is already having problems starting and does not clean the dishes as well as I had hoped. The service man is coming out this week to repair the machine. Not what I expected from Frigidaire.

Hey dirtydish, I am sorry to hear how frustrated your dishwasher experience has left you. I know you stated the service technician is coming out, but I have a few things that may help. The “sweet” spot for water temperature is between 120-125 degrees (at the water heater) for the best cleaning and drying potential. Make sure you run the water in the sink until it is hot (like you would do before getting in the shower). Is the heater (inside on the bottom of the dishwasher) covered by a heavy mineral or calcium scale (looks like white spots on the heater)? If it is, start a cycle with no dishes in it. Once it has finished the initial fill, add 1 cup of white vinegar to the bottom and let it finish the cycle. Don’t forget the rinse aid (it really makes a difference)! Using the high temp wash or sanitize can also improve cleaning and drying performance. Best wishes, your friendly Frigidaire lady, Ruth
      Dishwasher Question
I bought a couple days ago. Looks and cleans great! The question I have is it normal for the pump to work several times when pushing out water? When water is pushed out the drain I can hear the pump continuosly and wondering if that is normal. Thanks

        A breath of fresh air
I bought the dishwasher less than 6 months ago and that is a decision that we feel was right. Kudos Frigidaire

          Worst ever
Noisy- sounds like it is banging the dishes clean. Does not dry the dishes very well. Rack is impossible to load if you are not using conventional plates. Does not clean the inside very well either. Sorry I bought this model, but it needed to go with refrigerator-also horrific. Third appliance was matching convection gas range which so far has been great. 2 out of 3 products from Frigidaire does not indicate any level of quality

Hey ptbuzzcut, thank you for taking the time to share your valuable feedback with us. We regret to hear that you are having problems with your Frigidaire Dishwasher. We would recommend checking a few things, check and make sure the water coming in is at least 120 degrees, do you have heat dry cycle selected, and are you using rinse aid? I realize that as a consumer you feel that these are not reasons for your dishwasher to under-perform. Over the last few years Energy Star has issued stricter standards for water and energy usage which can increases the need for Rinse Aid to dry dishes. –Hope this helps! Kindly, Jennifer Frigidaire

          Great Product
The installation of the dishwasher was very easy with minimal tools. The tenant reports the dishwasher runs quiet and cleans well.

Quieter than my last dishwasher. Attractive. Holds a lot and gets everything squeaky clean.

          Very Pleased
First off I can say that it is VERY quiet. There were only a few drops of water left on a few of the cups. Everything including the tub was dry. The dishes and everything else were clean. The installation was stright forward and went well. No problems. Yes, you have to furnish a power cord, drain connector, and water line but I already had these from the previous dishwasher. It is easy to learn how to stack dishes, etc. The dishwasher has most of the features and at the price range I wanted. I can highly recommend this dishwasher.

I like the simplicity and the features.
Frequently we find food still stuck to the dishes after washing. When using the rinse only feature the interior smells horrible the next day.

Hi, sk417! Thank you for your time and comments concerning your Frigidaire Dishwasher. I recommend checking your water if your dishes are not getting clean. Your water may be too hard, please see your owner’s guide detergent chart. Also, check your water temperature and pressure; the recommended temperature should be 120°F and the water pressure should be 20 to 120 pounds per square (psi). In regards, to a smell after the use of the dishwasher, please check your drainage hose. If any kinks are in the hose this will cause food to get trapped inside the hose. Please contact us directly for any further assistance. Thanks again, for being part of the Frigidaire Brand family! –Regards
            Love this dishwasher
I've only had this dishwasher for a few months, but I really love it! It is much quieter than my previous one and cleans better than any I have ever had! I've tested it's cleaning ability by putting dishes in that haven't been rinsed; have dried on egg yolk, cheese, spaghetti sauce, etc. and all have come out spotless. I also love the way you can adjust the top shelf to accommodate different shaped objects. The only con I have found is that you can't access the back portion of the utensil basket unless you pull out the bottom shelf.

            So far so good!
We bought this dishwasher to replace a 14 yr old Frigidaire that was starting to fade. It arrived 4 days after I placed the order - so easy!! Installation wasn't too bad, however, it took several adjustments of the legs to get it level. It is much quieter than I thought and cleans so much better than the old one. And it looks nice!

              Good Value, Good Product
This is the second Frigidaire Gallery dishwasher I've owned, and I am pleased with this purchase. The Frigidaire #FGBD2445NW washes and dries (including plastic dishes) well. It has a sensor that determines how dirty the dishes are and automatically adjusts the number of cycles and amount of wash time for the degree of dirt on the dishes. On a recent "normal" cycle, after a few minutes the cycle time dropped to 69 minutes as I had rinsed the dishes beforehand (old habits die hard), and still the dishes came out perfectly clean and dry. Other features I like include an adjustable top rack, time remaining display, and a large silverware basket that contains no slots (I hate slots). In addition, the racks are made of nylon, so there is no metal and no rust (I've had to replace racks that have rusted out on other dishwashers). On the negative side, the bottom rack is light weight, but also somewhat flimsy and is not adjustable like the top rack. In addition, check the size of your dinner plates before purchase. Mine are 11 inches, and there is only 1/4 inch clearance between the plate and the spray arm, and this is with the upper rack in the top position. If the upper rack were in the lower position, the spray arm would hit the dinner plate.

                don't buy
We bought this two years ago and it's now completely broken. Cost of repair is almost the same as buying a new one. My experience is most Frigidair products are of poor quality. Big lesson. Will never buy another Frigidair appliance again.

                Good machine for the money
Almost anything would be better than what I replaced but this dishwasher really works well. I still rinse dishes out of habit since I only run it when full. I put some old glasses through a cycle that were spotted from the old machine and they look great now. The silverware basket is large and is inside, not on the door, which is what I wanted. I do have a problem with my long utensils not fitting in the basket but I just lay them down somewhere and that works fine. The sensor checks the level of washing needed and adjusts the wash time accordingly, that is a nice feature. The rinse aid dispenser could be easier to use. I have a hard time telling the level. I have had it about a month and no big complaints.

                7 years and counting...
I have the 2006 version of this dishwasher. I don't understand how some reviewers say it is small, it's seems the same as every other 24" dishwasher on earth - maybe they had oversize models previously?? Ours works great after all these years, no complaints. We have VERY hard water. Every few weeks it will start to moan, make this loud noise, which I researched and which seems to be related to hard water buildup, not the unit's fault. When that happens I open the door and throw about 2 cups of white vinegar in there (just toss it in), it quiets down and works great for several weeks. I didn't have luck getting shiny dishes with the gel liquid (pour-in) soap, but packets or bricks work great.

Regret purchase- too small and bad quality
the dishwasher washes well enough but has no space on the bottom. Even a normal size dish in the middle of the bottom rack is too tall. Forget about cookie sheets. The top rack is weak and doesn't hold weight well. If I fill the top rack with glasses it sags and makes even less room for bottom dishes.

                A Good Value
We spent a little bit more than we were looking to in order to get a quieter dishwasher, as ours sits very close to the living room. It is definitely quieter, but at the expense of a longer washing period. Which is OK because it does come with a delay timer that is well worth the extra money. One thing that I really like is the layout of the rack tines. The way they are arranged leads to a lot of flexibility in how you can load the dishwasher. In my previous dishwasher, the tines forced you to arrange your dishes in a particular way that was not very space efficient. Though this dishwasher fit in the exact same space as the previous one, this model seemed to have more available rack space, which I appreciate. Installation could have been easier as the junction box where you made the electrical connections was very tiny and the screws to release the cover off of the box were placed in a hard-to-reach area. It is a nice enough looking dishwasher, but not what I would call sleek or modern in any way and the plastic front face seems a bit cheap. I hope it holds up for the long haul. One other minor fault is that the drying cycle doesn't always get everything dry, though this is a problem I have had with every dishwasher I have ever owned. If I am going to use more electricity by turning the heated dry on, I would really like for them to come out dry (and no, I am not talking about the water you find on the tops of cups). Overall I am pleased with the dishwasher, but we have only been running it for about a month. I would recommend it based solely on what I have seen so far however.
