The price is right, but because it's plastic, it can break. I like the flexibility, but don't necessarily need it. It's free delivery so I selected these over aluminum extension and they serve the purpose. Attaches easily to each other, easy to cut, and attaches to aluminum. I've bought 5 for my house.

In less than a year all 6 of mine broke right apart on the seams of the accordion part. Like someone perfectly cut the extension in half with perfect cut. A seam in every one of the six just broke right apart and you can not repair them at all. Less than a year and they go in recycle. Thanks other customers! I had little idea what was happening until I saw the exact same thing was happening to everyone else.

Bought a few of these prior to Covid - they lasted about 5 years. Recently, I purchased 3 new ones post Covid and they didn’t even stretch out without breaking at the seams. I compared the two and it is clear that in an effort to save a few pennies, they made the plastic material thinner which weakens the accordion seams. Shameful as it used to be a great product.

Installed these in June of least year, and they are all dry rotted and brittle. All 11 are junk, only 8 months later. They were great at first, and did exactly what we needed them to, but since they dry rotted they are worthless. Avoid

This is the second one I have bought. Thought it was just a bad batch but nope its garbage. Cracked at the joints within . This is mounted under primarily a shaded area so no blaming the sun. Its just garbage dont buy it.

I purchased these flexible rain gutter pipes to deflect water away from the house. When installed slight cracks appaired in the thin material. It was to late in a flood situation to go back 70 miles away to the only Home Depot store that had this product. The next storm the cracks got larger and none of the water was being deflected away from the gardens and house where ponds were forming.

I’ve purchased these downspouts a number of times. Quality seems to be getting worse. Even with normal use, that is without changing length or bend, they crack along the accordion lines letting water spew everywhere. Once removed and any change in shape attempted, virtually all accordion lines crack open.

This fell apart within six months of using it, likely because of UV exposure. Poor quality. It's ridiculous that something that is supposed to be used outdoors can't withstand the elements. Avoid.

Installed to flex around a bush. Absolutely love its accordion like flexibility. Unfortunately this just didn't stand up to the elements. Likely UV exposure as it was installed in heavy sun location. I saw water pooling along the extension and discoved three breaks, each of which was critical. Pipe ripped & tore easy when removing . Would not use unless very temporary. Replaced with 4" ADS corrugated pipe, 4" downspout adapter, small gutter screws, and 2" tile tape. All of which were in stock at local Home Depot.

Very disappointed in this product. Poor quality plastic. I needed the small end to connect to my downspout and I cut the larger end off, as directed, in order to tie it in with a 4" corrugated drain pipe. So far, so good. However when I extended it to not even it's full 55" length at least 4 of the bellows cracked open. Lifespan of product about 3 minutes. This was on a 20 degree Celsius day. I could only imagine what would happen if one of these got kicked or hit with a snow shovel in the Canadian winter. The plastic would not last. Furthermore, when I attempted to fit the cut end inside the 4" drain pipe I found the plastic was way too thin and the end just collapsed in on itself and would not seat properly and securely into the drain pipe. Don't waste your money. If available, go with the Mole Pipe brand which has screw-type bellows (rather than the parallel bellows like this one) which allow various adapters to be hand-screwed onto the ends. Much more robust in materials and design and much more versatile than the product being reviewed here. Before any of the trolls jump on me, know that I have used products like this for decades and know how to use them and have never had issues with them until this product.

Very easy to install. Slips securely right onto downspout. Adjusts with accordian design. Keeping water away from new flower bed and foundation. Giving 4 stars ONLY because you cannot paint it to match your exterior color. Otherwise, can't beat it for the price.

Does not hold up in sunlight or small hail. Cracks in several places.

I just noticed that the spout extension just started fall apart at the flexible area. I have never seen plastic fall apart like that.

Took care of a lawn flooding issue.

this thing is a waste of money. It split after less than 3 months.

I bought 4 and after 1 hot summer all cracked in multiple places (see photo), leaking water that drowned and killed bushes and washed away mulch. Tried rotating to put leaks on top, but any attempt to move it later on will cause many cracks to occur everywhere. The creases are too thin and this product is poorly designed and not durable. Don't waste your money like I did.

Fitted to downspout easily with no modification. Got a gullywasher shortly after. Performed properly. ?

I placed 4 of these extenders after having new gutters installed. The installation was easy and did not require screws to secure to my downspouts. The length of the extenders can stretch and curved to align with natural ground flow. I selected these extenders knowing in the near future i will cover with river rock to form a creek bed. Im convinced these extenders are sturdy enough for this application. Very pleased with this extenders.

These didn’t even last a year before they split open. I bought 12 of these and 10 of the 12 have already split open. The only ones that hasn’t are the ones that’s in complete shade all day. My house is 11 years old. Last year I replaced my 10 year old downspout extensions because they had faded badly. A couple of them had cracked. Getting 10 years out of a downspout extension is beyond my expectations but not even a year is ridiculous. Especially considering how much these cost.

Attached it to the downspout with a sheet metal screw and they work perfectly.

They're so cheaply made they're already breaking I have to return them and exchange them not even a week old

Works great! Using it to direct our gutters into a rain barrel. Screwed into the downspout and ran a bit of wire around each end to secure it in place when windy. Should make for easy removal in winter. The bendy portion is nice and stiff and stays in place once you shape it as needed.

I bought 3 of these and in less than a year they split, cracked and came apart like they were 30 years old. If you decide to buy these things anyway keep your receipt. Home Depot please take notice of the failings of this product.

I installed the spout extender on my gutter downspout during the fall of last year. I looked at it today and saw that it’s cracked along the seam resulting in rain water leaking out where it bends.

Bought these 6 months ago. Hooked a couple together and installed at the gutter downspout. Both are now splitting/cracking at multiple places along the molding seam. Would not recommend this product.

These extensions are very cheaply made. I've bought about 12 of them, and had to throw 5 away. They crack or break in the thinnest part of the tube. I just noticed that I have another one in use that has split in 2 different places. Do not buy these unless you want to keep replacing them.

These things are ok. But they don’t last to long in my opinion. I probably should bring them in for these hot summers here in Texas. But with Texas weather it can change in a instant. One minute sunny and hot, the next monsoon or blizzard. So I think it’s better just to leave them. The last ones lasted me a year a half so not to bad ya know.

This was my second try with this extension. First one cracked within a week. This one cracked upon install. These may work over grass, but laying them over concrete does not. The edges are so weak and break so easily. I'll be throwing this in the trash and trying a different brand.
