It definitely qualifies as an air filter. I have an old style ac system that does not have standard size opening. This filters the air. It has to be custom made. Delivery was faster than expected.

These filters are for some reason a hard to find size in local area stores, even the local Home Depot doesn't stock them. By purchasing a case of 12 online, and picking them up at the local Home Depot, I save a bundle over the only place I can get them locally , at an Air conditioner supplyhouse/contractor where they cost more than twice as much, no matter how many I buy at once. And the shipping is free!

I was glad that Home Depot carried this size as our local Lowe's does not have them in store or on line. An odd size that is hard to find
