Excellent product little heavy but very beautiful doors

Very nice door

I have had these doors for almost a year now. Overview: They are very heavy, and required two people for me to "tilt in." Once they were tilted in, I was able to do the rest by myself. They were not any more difficult to install than ordinary doors. Feather River did include (what I perceived to be) some quality features, such as instructions on how to trim the weatherstripping so the Astragal seals well. I felt that attention to detail had been paid to the sealing, and the quality of the materials was very good for what I paid. The good: I like the materials, the look, and the way the door seals. When light shines through the doors, it makes a pretty, sparkly pattern on the floor. Everyone who sees the doors on our house is immediately impressed and is compelled to make a comment. The bad: The glass is triple pane - each full lite appears to be fully sealed. They claim that the glass qualifies for energy star in all 50 states - but the glass is DEFINITELY not low-E. They say the glass is tempered, which means that I can probably install a film. I have not done this yet because I am not certain how the windows are sealed. I'd hate to over-heat the glass unit and have it break, or burst a seal. It is not clear to me how well the glass is insulated because I have no way to test. Also, the NFRC label did not come on the glass, so I am unaware of the stats. I do know that when the sun shines through the door, it is as warm on my hand as if I were in direct sunlight. Another bad is that the middle pane (the decorative glass) was slightly loose sandwiched between the two exterior plates of glass. This means that when you close the door, it rattles. This is actually quite annoying - but I have learned how to close it in such a way that I don't hear it anymore. I did call Feather River about this, and their customer support was willing to listen to me, but didn't really try to help. I suppose I could have pushed harder, but I decided to just live with it.

Love the door and the looks of it. However there were no holes drilled in the threshold and the top for the locks for the door. So obviously the locks were not engaged during shipping and we had to drill holes for the locks when installing. Manufacturer needs to know about this.

This door never sealed well. The trim around the glass cracked..the lead at the top of both windows is drooping about a quarter inch. The door without the knobs is difficult to open..Feather river basically said sorry about your bad luck..never again.

This door is beautiful. It brings out the beauty of the home. I do suggest adding a light tint inside the door so no one can see through it.

Omg!!!! They are beautiful! I received many many compliments! Love how the sunlight shines through and give a rainbow of colors throughout the room! The doors are just BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

The door is a very nice door. The frame came twisted. I'm guessing it happened in shipping. Made it very hard to install took a few hours to get it hung. Most times we install the same type of door in under an hour.

The door looks fabulous! Even though I had to wait a month for THD installers, I am not disappointed.

Nice door .... elegant look for a cheaper price.

The door was the right size and height. The only issues I had was that they drill four holes in the door and I only needed two.

I have had these doors for about 3 years now. I love them! They are beautiful doors, I had them installed by someone that installs impact windows and regular windows and doors. It was a two man job. Doors close well and when I want to open both doors I really have had no issues, maybe a little W-40 just to keep them smooth. I think you need a good installer, My particular installation cost $400. the doors look more expensive than what they are.

The doors are actually very nice. The problem we had was with the frame. The top of the frame was a half inch smaller than the bottom. When the brick moulding was installed they missed with one and blew out the left side jamb. Also they missed when shooting left jamb into the top of the frame and destroyed the door seal in that corner. Its funny that there is a notice on the door that it was quality checked and non returnable. I guess they need a quality control guy to check on the quality control guy.

My door was installed by Home Depot's installation services. It looks nice, but it doesn't close properly. I don't believe it's a result of the installation, but more of a result of the quality of the door. The active panel of the door doesn't close tightly at the top of the door and doesn't seal well against the inactive panel. There is a plastic clip that doesn't allow the door to seal tightly. Also, the dead bolt does not work when you add the strike plate to the inactive panel. The adjustments behind the strike plate don't adjust enough so that the dead bolt will properly enter the inactive panel. In general, the doors don't seem to close tightly. There's a lot of play in them and I'm concerned that I'm going to have a lot of air intrusion this winter if I don't do something about it. Not what I would have expected with a new door. All in all, I'm disappointed with the door. If I were buying another door, I would select one that was of better quality. Would not recommend.

This is a great looking door. We shopped around at local door places and spoke with the local rep at HomeDepot, who thought very highly of FeatherRiver doors. We saw a lot of doors that were $2,500 - $3,200 that were roughly equivalent. This one is particularly nice in that the doors have 4 matching door/lock holes for great visual symetry. With the downside that it takes 2 complete locksets at $130-$140 each. The glass offers some privacy but not complete privacy with some clear beveled peices. This is great for letting in light. The instructions on adjusting the Astragal (the bar in the middle between the doors) were a bit unclear. But we were able to figure it out. UPS Freight called during delivery and stated they needed authorization (at $125 cost) to use a truck with a lift gate as it weighs 300 lb. We called the homeDepot.com help line and they sorted it out so that it was set right next to the garage door in the driveway at no extra charge as stated on line. Unfortunately, it was too tall to go in the garage door standing in the shipping crate. The door seals well and opens and closes nicely. The door came with installation instructions. We installed it ourselves with shims, 3-1/2" screws, caulk, spray foam, a level and a power screw driver. There were 3 of us and it took all day with removing the old door, installing the new one, reinstalling the trim, caulking and installing the locks. Definitely will take at least 2 strong people due to the size and weight.
