Im very sad that this foam has mildew. This is not Home Depots standard

It is wonderfully thick. It makes my old carpet feel like new planning on installing this throughout the house.

This is second purchase. My first was 3 years ago. Carpet is changed because of stains. Padding will outlast most carpet. Installers told me 1/2" pad causes the carpet to wear out faster. Installers did not say it causes the stains. Comfort is really more important if printer ink is going to be spilled.

The product was very good, but the service at home depot rates a "0" for their service.

Excellent padding for the money! It makes my budget carpet feel a lot more luxurious. I wasn’t sure if it would be better to get the 8 lb instead, but I don’t think I needed to spend the extra money after walking on this padding.

I would give it 3.5 stars. This pad muffled about 30%-40% of the sound. We installed it on the second floor from where I live, and I'm pretty satisfied. 40% is pretty good. This pad is soft. And it was easy to install. Make sure you place the rough side facing up so you could move the carpet around easier. I initially installed it because there's my 2 year old niece running around up there and wakes me up at 9am. Well now I don't hear her much, and I don't wake up to the sound.

Made from recycled products this is one of the best quality pads on the market if not the best. It should last a lifetime. This pad will help add to the life of your carpet, providing that you maintain your carpet as recommend by the manufacturer. Always bust your roll and lay out your padding for at least an hour or so as the pad will continue to expand. Use some adhesive along the edges where pad meets pad or tac- strip, so that when you are stretching your carpet in the pad will not move. New carpet should always be power stretched. I do not recommend this size padding for olefin or berber carpets, you will want to use the 3/8" 6 lb density. Hope this was helpful.
