I like everything about the fan except for the amount of air it moves. The slider rheostat doesn't seem to make any significant difference in the air movement. This may explain why its so quiet.

This is not truly a 36” hood but a stretched version of a 30” hood which has major deficiencies for a 36” stove-top. The unit is displaced off-center by 4” on the left side and 2” on the right side resulting in poor lighting and exhaust capability as neither covers the full 36” stovetop width. Physically the most serious compromise is that the vent duct is off-center from the cabinet centerline resulting in having to specially design and manufacture an adaptor piece that will connect the two offset sections of the exhaust duct. If this is not bad enough the installation instructions are a hodge-podge of illogical and difficult to understand requirements that make no sense. Why they are written for DIY in an upside-down cabinet beats all common-sense since most installations are made in existing cabinets. Parts are provided or described that seem to belong to some other Broan product. Request for Broan technical assistance were of no help at all with no guidance, explanations, or videos provided that would enable installation. Having paid $600 for this unit there is no choice left but to return the unit as unacceptable.

This is the second time we've purchased this hood vent because we moved to a new home and needed to replace the current one. My favorite thing about it is that it is so thin, it really opens the space about the stove. For us tall people that is a huge plus. The only draw back is that the light is not bright enough but it has a lot of great features to make up for that.

I was replacing an identical 25 year old unit by Broan. I expected the new fan to have a modern LED bulb. It did not. It has a fluorescent tube and ballast. Second issue is that the slide out hood does not line up with the fixed switch area. They are not in the same plane. Sloppy manufacturing. I would not have bought this one out of the store (the purchase was made online).

This product does not fit into my existing frame or replace the previous 15000 series at all. Broan has changed the positions of the two screw holes on the left bottom of the unit. As a result, the unit cannot be attached to the existing cabinet. Hence it is not usable in my case. Otherwise, the new product looks nice and sleek.

We have had the white model since 1998. Although it has functioned relatively well, the paint is very sticky now. When trying to clean with any sort of soap or degreaser, the paint rubs off in sticky clumps. Don’t want to get a new one (stainless steel) as I like the design but put off at inability to really clean this anymore without removing paint. Would only recommend in non painted version.

Easy order, easy install!

Love the sleek line. This was a replacement for an older one. There seems to be more fan power.

Misrepresented on website.

I purchased this range hood in 2003 and it has served me well for 16 years! However, it is very difficult to clean. I have cleaned the filters 3-4 times a year and also replaced them a couple of times over the years. My concern has been the grease that has accummulated in places I cannot reach. Nonetheless, I am replacing it with the same model to avoid having to change my current kitchen design. Hope it lasts another 15 years.

This was an exact remake of a model that was installed many years ago in our house. We wanted to upgrage the color scheme in the kitchen to brushed aluminum from the exsisting old black color without reworking the cabinets to much. This replacement fan did the trick.

I have had this fan for about 15 years. I wish I did not have this fan. It is extremely difficult to clean. Choose another!

We installed the Broan Silhouette under cabinet slide-out range hood 30 years ago and absolutely love it. At that time there was only white available. Now there are nicer selections. Very sleek and easy to clean. Pull it out and you have a fantastic light over your cook area and pull a little more and now you have your adjustable vent!! Before you buy one of those big over head vents, check this out!!!

The overall design and look is contemporary & sleek but the light type is antiquated, insufficient brightness bon dimmable and poorly designed for a unit in this price range.

It met our specifications perfectly. They’re dependable. The last one we had lasted for 29 years.

Beautiful and sleek. My first choice was a chimney style hood in black stainless to match other kitchen appliances but it overpowered the look I wanted for the kitchen. The Broan fits in seamlessly with the cabinets and you really can't tell it's an exhaust system.

This was a replacement unit fo original in our kitchen. Because the cabinets are low, this is the only unit that leaves enough space above the cooktop. Did not come with plug but electrician took it from the old unit. Used existing vent too.
