Milwaukee Electric chain saw
For my occasional use, I hadn't planned on spending this much on a chainsaw, but the price at the time ($158) was close to $100 less than anywhere else. The quality is so much higher than my admittedly much cheaper (and worn out) McCullough. As expected, the Milwaukee quality shines through; I found the tool easy to handle, and remarkably efficient. As I've only used it once (a power failure accompanied the next occasion I had to use it--next year a generator?), I can't really speak to longevity, but the general build quality and "feel" suggest it will be with me a long time.

    Milwaukee #6215 Electric Chainsaw
I've had a variety of gas and electric chainsaws over the years. Most of the electric ones have worked OK but eventually failed. I read some reviews on the Milwaukee and decided to give it a try. So far I'm impressed -- it appears well built, and works great. While it is only rated at 2.25hp compared to others that are rated at up to 4hp, this saw is substantially heavier, and the motor is physicallly bigger -- so I assume the other saws are over-rating their horsepower. This saw seems to have plenty of power for the size stuff I am cutting (mostly limbs up to about 6" in diameter). This saw is really expensive compared to most other electric chanisaws. Most places charge between $280 and $500 (yikes!) for it. The very best price I found by far was Home Depot Online at $155.
