Works Surprisingly Very Well And Accurate
I bought this bulb hoping to replace the heat producing incandescents in my refrigerator with this LED. I was pleasantly surprised by it's performance. The amount of light it produces is just about exactly the amount of light a 40 Watt Incandescent bulb produces (the box states bulb as 40 W Equivalent). The light dispersion is very similar to a regular incandescent bulb as well. In a small enclosed area, you won't tell the difference. The color of the light is SLIGHTLY whiter than your typical incandescent. You would have to pay attention to notice it but it is deledfinitely noticeable. It IS suitable for damp conditions so that is a definite plus. Is it worth it? That's up to you. Do you tend to think in the short or the long run?

Don't expect this product to last.
I bought 10 of these and after 18 months only 2 are still working and one of them has a mind of it's own (Will not stay on) with power on it'll shut off and then come back on, I'm finished with these bulbs. Not a money saver considering the cost of the bulb and not sure about the power savings. So I'm going to see how the warranty is and return all 10.

    Really bright
Generates excellent light. I first put it in a lamp near the stereo, but had to move it to another outlet when it caused static in the stereo sound. I found this odd, but checked it several times and the static came back when the bulb was near and went away when it was moved. FYI

Fair lighting, but not for a shaded lamp.
The light color (warmth) is fine. Brightness is as expected. Use in a closet, a fully enclosed globe (ceiling fixture) would be fine. Did not cast a "bulb" appearance (large/round) when used in a table/floor lamp with a fabric shade. Not nonfunctional, just not pleasing. Also, the overall size is larger than a standard incandescent bulb. Almost did not fit in the lamp's harp.

There's a reason these are cheap
I bought one of these as a trial for a "cheaper LED bulb", before I bought a bunch of them. I originally wanted to use it in an outdoor fixture that's on a dimmer. Unfortunately, it doesn't dim very well. You get 2/3 down from the top on the dimmer control, and --wink-- it goes out completely. Meanwhile, the bulb in the garage door opener went out again, and this is an ideal spot for an LED bulb, since they don't care about vibration, and it's a hassle going all the way up there to replace the bulb. I screwed it into the garage door opener, and was initially pleased. The next morning, the door wouldn't go down! Unfortunately the bulb system puts out so much electrical hash that as long as the bulb is on, the opener 'can't hear' the remote control, and you can't close the garage door behind you! This means the design quality for the driver circuit is very poor, and that driver circuit will likely fail before the LEDs reach end-of-life. I also have to rate the color quality for the bulb as not very good, either. Whites look yellow-green. Yes, it's going back.

      bright yet economical light
I have sensors on my outside lights so that they are on for both security and my convience so it is important to me to have a bright light yet not waste electricity. This bulb does that very well.

      It's a light!
The light bulb is relatively expensive for a light bulb. This should be offset by long life but I doubt I come back to make a response in the expected 10+ years of life. The bulb is quick to turn on without the "warm-up" period of some of the cheaper CFLs. The light produced is good both for color and brightness. I think the rating is about right for the comparison of wattage. Also of note, it does not produce much heat at all. It's nice to have for a reading light in the summer. Other than that, I don't know what to say. I expect it to be cost effective over the long run but only time will tell.

      Cool white = fluorescent appearance
Bright and gives off good light, but in the harsh fluorescent range. I'm going to try a warmer bulb and use this one as a replacement for my back porch light. I bought three fixtures online and thought I'd give this bulb a go. I plan to get the warmer color at the store so I can see if the color is agreeable for inside use.
