I'M TOO SCARED TO REMOVE THE AERATOR; guessing it will be a one time, shatter-type of thing.
It is 100% plastic and a little too flimsy, brand new. Just shutting off the valves causes them to FLEX in and out without any cracking noises, so far. The finish is very realistic, brand new. EZ install with putty and new hoses. A week later it still works great, so far.

Unexpected
The faucet is made of cheap material and it's not strong at all. Not a good purchase item.
