Bought as a replacement belt for MTD edger (part #754-0142), which it specifically states on the package that this belt is a replacement for OE. Belt lasted about 10’ on sidewalk edge before it frayed and flew off the pulley. The old belt lasted more than 5 years of weekly use.

I went through two of these belts in 5 or 6 uses on a residential sidewalk lot about 200 feet. I don't know why but this belt just split apart and tore off my pulley.It kept stretching as it got hot so I had to tighten up on the down lever to cut grass with edger blade.The OEM belt lasted two seasons and was twice as thick.I guess if you had a small lot this belt would last because it wouldn't get as hot.I'm on corner lot and need a thicker belt to make the 200 feet of cutting.

Belt wasn’t an exact fit compared to original that came with the edger. On first use the belt had come undone and was nearly shredded to pieces. I was able to salvage the belt and rig the tension. So far so good after 5 uses.

Seems to be to small for MTD 588 Edger. Does not allow blade to be fully engaged.

I have an old MTD edger. The belt fit fine, works great.

Wrong size...the website said this would fit my edger. It's way too big

The unit I bought and returned was on the assigned peg however it was for a different MTD edger.I should have checked a bit closer for correct applications, but didn't until I attempted the install which is a thrilling process in itself on an MTD edger.

Purchase this as replacement for 854-0142 OEM V-Belt on my Yardmachone Edger. Belt fits and seems to work fine. I edged about 500 feet of grass along my sidewalk and no problems were encountered.
