Good product. Video quality is average. Records movement to slowly even with a faster SD card read speed. Excellent Audio sound pickup and also speaker audio is excellent when communicating with someone thru speakers on each camera. Need more recording options with this system. Only can record onto a SD card. Need to have WIFI to PC or to smartphone. For the price this is what you get. Need to have electrical outlet close by each camera. I had to wire two extra into my house eaves. I have knowledge to do this, so make sure you do or are able to dish out extra $ for electrician to do so. Extension cords are not wise. Make sure you mount exterior cameras up high so perpetrators cannot unplug or take down. Also, mount exterior cameras out of areas where they would receive moisture (snow, rain, hail, etc.). A bigger monitor would have been a plus, but again this isn't a high $ setup. Overall, for a first time monitoring system this is great. I am happy so far for last two months.

This security monitor works or me. The picture is not as clear as I would like it but I guess because I live in a two story house there is more distance to cover than a one story house. This model lets me know when somebody is leaving the house and approaching the house, it will beep. I am satisfied with the model and feel more secure in my house. It was easy to install. I have it hooked/wired up to my television in my bedroom, but you don't have to have it wired to a T.V., and you can put it anywhere in your house.

It was advertized that additional cameras were available for purchasing and now less than a month later they have been discontinued.

System was easy to set up but no night vision. The cameras worked great during the day but as soon as it got dark you could not view anything. Very disappointed. Sent them back.

The cameras were easy to install and do an excellent job of capturing any activity on our property very pleased

We were happy with the product for six weeks then we came in to find the monitor blank. We had to uninstall the entire unit and return it during an incident in which our office had to be on "lock-down." this was very inconvenient since we couldn't see visitors who rang to be let in.

One of the cameras failed within an hour of turning on. I've had the system for over a month and am waiting for replacement. Cameras are not Water Proof. They tried to suggest that I had mounted these in a location subject to inclement weather. My second camera is just fine.

The item is already discontinued and it was not noted when I made purchase. I am highly disappointed.

The product is OK customer service think on both ends Home Depot and defender have issues and customer service in the near future I will not purchase anything from them again

I set this up in less than 1 hour including climbing up ladder to install the cameras.

For the value and performance it was an excellent choice for me. Didn't want to spend a fortune for a home security system but wanted one that performed well. This Defender system did both. Needed to do some electrical wiring for the cameras in the exterior of my house but after that the set up was a breeze and the system is functioning better than I expected.

I got my defender system on time..via ups...I was excited to set up. My 1st surprised its not wireless as stated you have to have a power outlet close by to plug in the cameras (this should have been mentioned) and also the 7 in monitor. So I tried to look past this setback and set up my cameras...2nd disappointment the signals are very poor, only 1 camera has a strong signal (the one on my front porch) and I have to plug it in an outlet right behind the door inside my foyer approx. 8ft away . I cant plug it anywhere else, the signal will get lost. I do like the 2-way communication though it's very clear. I was trying to mount the monitor this morning and the antenna came off in my hand. That's it I'm returning to Homedepo.

Purchased this system for the Lake House that we are building so that if something were to ever happen while we were gone, hopefully we would have some type of record (nothing yet, thankfully). It was very easy to install, but we still had exposed walls where we were putting the cameras and that made it easy to add outlets for them. Display works great, easy to use. Make sure that items that move with the wind (if you are using them outside) are out of camera shot, they will trigger the motion sensor every time. My only complaint is that there isn't some kind of short battery back-up for when the power goes out. We lost power on a Wednesday one week and when we got to the house on Friday the unit was off. So I guess we need to figure out a way to create our own back-up system to keep the unit on during power outages.

The install and setup was easy, but the video quality was poor. I can hardly identify myself 15' away in my driveway much less a bad guy I don't even know. I will spend more money next time and not try to go cheap to save a buck.

Don't waste your money the monitor show a bad picture you can barely tell what you are looking at and the sound keep going out on the monitor

This is one of the least expensive systems out there. The installation was easy. It's plug and play. The signal strength is not 100' as advertised. It's more like 20' and even then its finicky. I had to move the camera's around during the install to make sure I had a signal. One spot had no signal but 6" to the left was a perfect signal. The camera's feel solid but the DVR is cheap light weight plastic. I might suggest spending a little more money.

This camera system works great for my needs. No running wires from the camera to the monitor. I can take the monitor to my pool in my backyard and see who pulls in the drive and talk with them on the intercom.

Does everything it said. Plus its fun to play with.

Cameras had to be installed under soffet on outside of home. Didn't know they couldn't be rotated. As a result, image is upside down on monitor.

Camera and base unit were very easily installed. Picture quality was great for a small camera, and works great. There is a sense of security in being able to see who is at the door before answering. Also, recording when you are not home is a great feature.

Simple to install... howerver the product support is simply 'Poor'. Locating an 800 number to contact the company for support is like finding the winning lottery ticket. Sent an email request for supporting an issue (device not recording) but I still have not heard anything from this company it's been 4 days. No emails or Phone call from the company. Moral of the story, buy American made and you get what you paid for...

1 WHEN POWER IS LOST, DATE IS LOST, BUT NOT THE TIME OF DAY. 2 MOUNT DOES NOT STICK OUT ENOUGH TO PERMIT CAMERA FROM BEING POSITIONED NEAR HORIZONTAL. THE WIRING HITS THE WALL. I HAD TO USE HALF-INCH SPACERS UNDER THE MOUNT. 3 MEMORY STICK HOLDS VERY LITTLE DATA.

Bought it for my daughter who lives alone and was having problems with someone leaving her front gate open. Very easy to install. Works great. Night vision is awesome! Really like to voice/intercom feature. Only complaint I have is I would have liked to install one of the cameras outside my front door pointing to the walk way but it being a steal door the monitor wouldn't pick up the signal even though it was just a few feet away on the other side of livingroom window. Had to move it a few feet away under an eave and point it at the front porch but that works fine to. Great value for the price. The gate issue has stopped (wish we could gave gotten someone on tape but seeing the cameras and installing motion lights has been a big deterent). I bought another camera from elsewhere and it quit working after a few hours. Glad I found this one. Real peace of mind.

The daytime vision is excellent; however, recording is sporadic. Night time vision is poor to the point of non-recognition. The operation of the "joy stick" is tricky and difficult.

The Cameras need more resolution and clearity and to be able to record all cameras at the same time. The cameras have a slow responce time from the motion dection to start of recording. System does work good over all.

GREAT SECURITY CAMERA! I GOT MY SECURITY CAMERA, IT WAS VERY EASY TO SET UP.

Nice system. Range on the wireless camera was shorter than expected.

The only thing I don't like is the motion sensor is not sensitive enough but all in all it's a good system.

I have had the system set up for a few days now and it works very well the alarm feature is good it lets you know when there is movment outside in range of the camera, and the recording feature is the best function it records and saves for future playback and can be transferred to other devices i.e. laptop or device that accommodates a SD card for future use. The only information i would advise anyone to be prepared for is that the camera's require a 120Volt A/C power source close to wherever you are going to mount them. So far so good im satisfied with the system.
