Great "Fishing" tool (pun intended)
I ordered and received the Klein Tools 50 ft Steel fish tape several months ago. We have a couple of project boats that we are currently working on and this tool was just the trick for fishing multiple cables and wiring through the gunnels and also below deck. The tool was very versatile and the steel fish tape had just the right stiffness to get through both areas. I know the tape is primarily used in the housing industry, but it was an incredible time saver for us.The reel is very easy to feed and retract. Klein makes great tools that work. Not much more can be said about that. I would recommend this tool to my friends and family without hesitation. I have included a few photos in order that you can see the tape up close.

Can't Beat Klein Tools Quality
While you may pay a premium for their tools over some other brands, they just work well and are quality. I have owned this fishing tape for over 12 years, and while I don't need it often, when I do it works great for running wires! No matter how much I bend it the wrong way, it reels back in to the case and maintains it's shape. It still looks like new to me.

    Sturdy 50’ Klein Fish Tape
I recently purchased a new Klein 50’ Fish Tape needed for a 42’ electrical pull. I already have the Klein 25’ Fish Tape for small runs and a larger one for the bigger jobs, but someone borrowed it and left it out in the elements for an undetermined length of time for which I received it back all rusted up and funky. Thus I got this new 50’ tape. It’s actually a sturdy 1/8” thick which is thinner than my old one and works just fine for it’s purpose. Klein makes great products.

Steel fish tape is good length, easy to use, with unexpected features
The 50’ (15.2m x 3mm) 1/8” Klein Tools fish tape is half the length of the one I already own, but is so much easier to use that it has earned a place in my toolbox. This tape come s on a 7.5” diameter bright orange plastic reel with a handle/guide that makes it easy to get the spring steel tape off, and back onto, the reel. The tape itself is laser etched with numbers and lines at one foot increments, counting down from 50, so you’ll spend less time wondering if the tape should have gotten to the other side yet…

This Klein 25' fish tape is very easy to use. It has markings on the metal tape letting you know the distance the run is and how long to make the wire. The end of the tape does not seem to get hung up on obstacles while setting the run. The 25' length makes this perfect for running wire at home or office and not be too long and heavy or bulky to use. I wish I had a fish tape in other projects that I barely managed to get finished. ThispThis fish tape makes running wire a breeze. The black handle also makes winding the tape back in to the case easy, hold handle and spin the case and you are done.

        Great for running HDMI cords
I have used this fish tape for the last 4 years and have had a lot of success with it. It makes running HDMI cables through the wall a breeze. I normally just wrap a good amount of electrical tape around whatever wires or cords I'm pulling through and then run this tape in behind the wall and out where I need it. It is a fantastic product and it makes the job a lot easier. This product does meet my expectations and I do not have anything to dislike about it. Please hit the thumbs up if this was helpful.

I just got my new 25 foot long Klein Tools Wide Steel Fish Tape. It works great for the short run jobs that have 90 degree bends and turns that just won’t let you hand push your wire through because of it being too pliable. Thus with a steel tape you just feed it on through your pipe, secure your wire to it, then pull it on back through your piping. It makes your job that easy. Over the past 40 years I’ve done electrical work, security system installations and communication systems installs as well. Having a small fish tape on hand for the short runs is a must.

I got the Klein tools 25 foot wide steel fish tape and used it today. It worked great feeds out good and winds back in very easy. It has the feet from end marked on the tape so you know how far you have left to pull. I was running a new switch and power run in our three seasons room and was using conduit, and it made the job a lot easier that trying to push the wire. You can also use it to pull wire up walls from basement.

I really like this fish, especially the curved / rounded over tip. I have another Klein "fish" which has a squared off flat tip and is more of a "pull" than a fish because the squared tip has sharp corners and catches on everything. The round tip on this one makes it slide through the wall like butter. I pulled six or seven 50 foot lengths of CAT5 through a soffit and didn't hit a single snag with this one. The tip also has an internal slat that allows you to quickly loop your cable and tape it off. It was super easy to turn around from fishing to pulling. Overall I'm very pleased.

Excellently designed product makes sending line through a wall very simple and quick. The design allows you to easily extend and retract the semi rigid fish tape that is spooled in a very lightweight but rigid housing. It has stood up to some bang and bumps around my workshop and doesnt show even the slightest scratch. Very impressed with the quality!

I have been using fish tapes for over 25 years and I really like this one. I like how the foot measurements are etched in the tape so you can tell how far in your fish tape is and how far you have left to pull. It is also very handy for pushing through the conduit and getting a measurement for wire cuts. The fish tape unreels very easily so you don’t wear yourself out just getting the fish tape out of the reel. The bright orange color makes it easy to spot and less likely to be left behind when you pick up for the day.

This is a pretty hefty tool for a home owner performing DIY electrical work on his/her home. The Snag-resistant double loop on the tip of the tape worked pretty good. I was able to run cables in my attic without any issues. The tool is "assembled in the USA" with global components. Although not fully made in the USA, that still contributes to our economy so thumbs up on that. The reel housing is made of heavy duty plastic, it looks and feels like it could take a beating. There are markings on the tape that i found useful since they helped me determine about how much wire was needed. Also, although probably not the primary intended use for it, this will work well for running/replacing wires on an boat.

Solid and well made fish tape. Best part it's made right here in the USA. Product does everything you would expect it to do as a fish tape. Total length is a just slightly under 50 feet when fully extended. Tape is flat so you are able to make some turns with the tape without worry of it breaking or getting stuck in the pipes or walls. Tape rolls back into the holding case very easy and is immediately ready for reuse. Again, quality made in the USA product. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Klein Tools has always made an excellent line of electrician's tools. This 120 foot Steel Fish Tape is no exception to their quality offerings. I already have a couple of smaller 25 and 50 foot fish tapes that I keep in my electrical tool bag. Neither of those is sufficiently long to reach from my house to my workshop about 100 feet away, so I ordered this 120 foot beauty for just that purpose. There's an undergraound conduit that runs from my house telephone panel to the workshop's main telphone box. I'd like to run a cat 5 ethernet cable from the house to the shop so I can extend my wifi into the shop for security cameras and motion detectors. With the Klein Tools 120-foot Fish Tape, I think that will be possible. This Klein Tools fish tape is well designed with a good sized handle that automatically guides the steel fish tape back into the tape housing. Though a lot heavier and bigger than my other fish tapes, it is not unwieldy and pays out the steel line with ease. The housing of this Klein Tools fish tape is about 12-1/2 inches in diameter and 1-3/4 inches thick. It weighs just under 5 lbs.

Klien Tools again delivers quality at its best. The steel fish tape has been very easy to use. We had to add new conduit lines at work on an addition that we've been working on and this tool made the job so easy. the steel fish line went in like a champ and the easiest part was retracting it. The reel flowed really well with no struggle or pulling at all. You could hold onto it easily and to reel it in was with little effort. You cant go wrong with Klein Tools. They're made in the USA and they spare no efforts on QUALITY! Highly Recommended.

The Klein fish tape is A great. Operation is smooth. Unlike my last one. I keep it in my work trailer at all times. The fifty feet is fine for most jobs. Usually 10-25 ft. Is all I’ll use. The plastic case of the fish tape is study and won’t break the first time you drop it. You know that will happen. It has a loop at the end as most tapes do. The flexibility of tape is perfect. Not too stiff or wimpier.

I ordered this fish tape to make all my electrical issues easier to take care of . not long after I received this tape I was asked to help install a electric range in a mobile home . Of course we had to run new wire . In a 32x80 mobile home thats a long way to run a wire. But with this fish tape it took half the time and was very easy I recommend this tape to DIYERS and Pros alike

I used this right away to pull a few Ethernet cables through the house exterior. The hook held on tough through the layers of Plywood and hardiboard. I love the laser printed measured markers. This is my first fish tape and I am wondering why it starts with 240 instead of 1’. Just my lack of training, but I appreciate the new fish tape tool. Works great and feels awesome

The Klein 240 ft steel fish tape is the best fish tape that I personally have ever used. I don't know that I will ever need the full 240 feet of tape but it is reassuring to know that I can run wire anywhere that I need to. The real action is incredibly smooth, both feeding and receiving. The handle fits nicely in my hand and the barrel rotates around it. It is pretty heavy with all the tape inside but you get used to it.

The Klein 50foot steel fish tape. 1/8-in. wide laser etched, 50-ft. long coated steel fish tape. The issue is that unless you have a magnifying glass to see these etchings it is next to impossible. The write up claims that that payout effort and retrieval is easy. This is not true. the case is hard to hold. The handle cuts into your hand and is too narrow. I am not happy with this product. It is not Klein Quality that I know and trust. Also it is NOT USA made. Assembled in but Global Components

I have a 50' metal Fish Tape, I bought from a discount tool store. It met my minimum requirements, but was a chore to dispense and reel in. This one is much better! With this new 120' Fish Tape, I can not imagine a spot in my house I can not reach (Klein also has a new designed 50' and 240' steel tape). It's flexible, smooth, and easy to retract. I really like it has etching showing the distance (see pics). I got it specifically for running power out to my garage ... and wouldn't you know it, it is a few feet short. I feel it negotiating the 90 degree elbow, from the run to rise, but when I go to the garage, it is not sticking out the Schedule 80 conduit. I guess I will be using the old vacuum, string, rope trick. Wish it had a locking mechanism. The wire keeps uncoiling. In fact, when it was delivered, the wire was sticking a foot out of the package.

Klein Tools 240 ft. Steel Fish Tape. Klein Tools 240 ft. Steel Fish Tape is another professional product that is offered by Klein tools. I was immediately impressed by how smooth the steel fish tape fed out and retracted back in. I must have gotten used to my older steel fish tape, which recently broke. These new Klein Tools Steel Fish Tapes are vastly smoother. I have used steel fish tapes my entire life, but I know that there are some improvements that have been made over the years. One of the largest improvements is the laser-etched length measurement marking on the fish tape. The newer design allowing easier, effortless feeding and retracting is also an added benefit. Can’t go wrong with steel! For the price and durability as compared with the newer fiberglass fish tapes, you can’t go wrong with one of these. This one weighs in right at 7.9 pounds, which is heavier than the Klein Tools Fiberglass Fish Tape, but the fiberglass fish tapes are only made in 100 ft lengths, so if you need a fish tape longer that 100 foot, this is your best and only option! Many times you have to use linesman pliers for pulling large wires in conduit with multiple bends and this is where steel tapes excel. After using several underground conduit situations, the fish tape cleans easily with a quick wipe. Just a great all-around weather tool. I performed several tests with this tool and can verify that wire pulling between my old steel fish tape and the new Klein steel fish tape has been improved. The double loop end makes it easy to create a strong, snag-free joint with the wire that is being pulled through the conduit. While using the fish tape, I have gotten it wet several times, but wiping it down after use should keep corrosion and rust at bay. I have always relied on Klein tools and this is just another great product. Klein Tools have been made in the USA since 1857 all backed by a lifetime warranty. This Klein Tools 120 ft. Steel Fish Tape is a high quality tool which makes pulling wires through walls and conduit easier. This steel fish tape comes in 50 ft. 120 ft. and 240 ft. lengths. Klein tools also have stainless and fiberglass models. The case is a strong plastic and is easy to both unwind and rewind with the large handle and open body of the spool. At 120 feet this fish tape will do the job for most applications and is easy to handle in its case. The steel 1/8 inch fish wire is both strong but very flexible which makes it easier to get through conduit with bends and 90 degree elbows. Klein tools also has a synthetic lubricant used to reduce friction when pulling wire through conduit. Another nice feature is the laser etched foot markings so you can tell how much tape you have fed out. I am sure this Klein tool will last a long time as it is made for the professional trades.

The problem I have with these fish tapes is they bind in the case making them difficult to pull out and run back into the case. The foot markings make it great to know the length you need eliminating the guess work. The tape is strong but bends easily in the conduit. We used this while installing a 50AMP sub panel and it worked perfectly! They we used it to fish wires in the attic which happened to be behind the AC handler. Without this fish tape we wouldn’t perform both tasks! Just wish the tape wouldn’t bind in the case!
