I purchased several tripod units at the start of last summer and the heads broke on several of them before the summer was done. Purchased replacement heads at the end of last summer and they broke less than a week into using them this summer. I'm talking major breaks. The pulsator arm snapped in half on two heads!!! The first broke in two on the back side and the other broke in two on the front side. These might as be made out of plastic for how quickly they break.

I had the same issue with the pin falling out. I just drilled a hole straight through and put metal wiring through it. Melnor, please make a better product or at least put more effort into R&D.

At first I was very happy with this sprinkler. I wish there were more instructions in the packaging but thankfully everything can be found on Youtube. The tripod is very sturdy and allows the sprinkler to be positioned in an optimal place off to the side of my yard in middle of the bushes but still able to reach the other corner. However I was doing some yard work today and noticed the head looked a little different. Looking closer I saw that the metal piece that adjusts the depth of the stream was on the floor under the tripod. Without the adjusting piece the stream mostly waters my driveway and sidewalk instead of the grass. It is extremely disappointing that this "high end" sprinkler broke a month after purchase and is pretty useless now.

The sprinkler was used 7 times before it started failing to rotate right to left. The gear that makes the sprinkler rotate became loose and completely fell off the next day. Unfortunately it doesn't appear that you can easily put the gear back into the sprinkler and tighten it. Very poor craftsmanship for the price.

This is the bomb! Works great. I recommend purchasing if you are thinking about it.

The Melnor pulsating sprinkler is a great tool for anyone that cares about their lawn. I recommend this tool to anyone that likes a beautiful yard. Very good price!!!

This is a great product! just what I needed!

This is a great sprinkler and it is sturdy. Does a great job and has lots of setting to adjust it exactly like you want it. The nicest attribute is the tripod is sturdy and sound yet light weight and adjustable too. In fact, I am ordering another one now. I’ve used other less expensive models and they do not compare. DEFINITELY GET THIS ONE and I highly recommend it.

The sprinkler came with the spray deflector and screw loose in the packaging and there is no way to attach the shield. I can use the sprinkler at full throttle but cannot adjust the spray pattern at all.

When the sprinkler gets to then end of the coverage area on the left hand swing it just stops.

While this tripod unit is very light weight, the materials used to construct it are even lighter. The aluminum water tube is paper thin and the plastics used are extremely thin and fragile. Only one time the hose pulled it over the whole thing broke completely apart like cheap toy. On top of that this thing has back-scatter when in operation. I assume this was by design to help "fill" the circle but that means it needs to be 20 ft from anything you don't want sprayed. Junk.

Works very well, I purchased the sprinkler tripod form areas my underground sprinkler system doesn't reach. Very satisfied with it

I thought it would spray from two ports, I did not like it. My fault I was looking at some other one.

This is my second Melnor ..... Just great and make life easier.

It is constantly getting stuck. It is not the water pressure

They last, on average, somewhat more than 3 seasons. That’s amazing.

Overall a better result. Next year I will be trying a soaker hose instead.

Very well made unit. Water sweep is adjustable to 360 degrees or about 200 degrees by flicking up a clip. Projection of water is adjustable by a metal flap that loosens or tightens with a screw. The watering mechanism is all metal, no plastic. The height is adjustable and it is plenty tall enough. Can't beat it for the price.

This item allows you to cover a large space of ground easily. Adjustable legs to gain extra height for more ground coverage. Adjustable settings to direct water where you want it. Have used routineky and very durable.

I hooked this up to my water supply hose and it worked. At first, I was satisfied it would work fine. I watched it run for about 30 mins, then noticed (what other reviewers noticed) the head rotated a few times correctly and then started sticking. The mechanism that triggers the head to reverse direction often wouldn't trigger. Eventually, it would reverse. Interestingly enough, I purchased 3 back and forth sprinklers of the brand. They had similar problems.

What a piece of junk this sprinkler turned out to be. Bought it last season and it was excellent for watering a new lawn. It really does have an impressive range. however, took put for use this season and it no longer rotates. additionally the armature snapped up. It is cheap junk. The tripod is the best thing.
