We are using this borrowed dehydrator for a 4-H project. We have dried fruits, vegetables, herbs and fruit leather. It has worked well for every item. The sheets for fruit leather worked well and the fruit/vegetable trays worked well. It is easy and intuitive to use.

I will buy Excalibur every time I need a dehydrator from now on and recommend them to anyone! Also I must recommend getting one with a timer, I will never go back to non-timer machines! Excalibur is great because you don't have to rotate your trays due to the fan being in the back of the machine (no drips on the fan anymore)! This dehydrator does an excellent job dehydrating and is better constructed than you might think. For home use this is the unit to buy. Its very simple to use! Relatively quiet - We've had it running for very long time periods with no noise issues. It's not silent, yet it's not annoying. Can't say enough about it! I love to dehydrate frozen veggies, my favorite being corn, its good just as a stand alone snack!

I bought the 9 tray dehydrator in about 2009? and it has never failed. I recommend it. 5 stars is all i can give but I am thinkiin...mmmmmmmm...7?

I bought the Excalibur many years ago. The first year was great, then my brother in law borrowed it and won't give it back. It's too good. I visit often and at least get to eat what he dehydrates with it. All in all, I'm really happy I bought one!

I really appreciate this workhorse - large capacity, multiple use, temperature menu, timer controlled. Everything I needed, except it is too noisy to keep in the kitchen and run for hours. I put it in the basement, check in on it a few times and let the timer do the work. I had an abundance of apples this fall, so I have dried a number of batches. Makes a great gift to tuck in a package to send via mail to those far from home. Using an apple peeler/slicer works well when looking for consistent apple thickness.

I have had a 9 drawer Excalibur for about 20yrs. I bought the new one as I am going to increase my volume of dehydrating. obviously I have been well satisfied with the one I have as it is still working good. One of the reasons I am continuing with the same type is you are still offering the manual control models. The digital appliances are almost throwaways if you have any problems our to expensive to repair.

I hope this new one proves to be as wonderful as the one I've used for 35 years! Please note, I did not receive the free Guide to Dehydration in the box when it arrived.

I bought a 3000 series quite a while back like 10 years ago or more, I am not knocking this one down but look out they do break. I was just making jerky and as I was putting in a tray I just happened to miss track on of the trays and thats when I noticed it was broke on the bottom which I will fix when I am done with my jerky, it just has a crack below the door no big deal but if you can afford it buy the stainless one you will be glad you did. I am going to buy one of the stainless ones because I make a lot of jerky. I really don't think there is a better dehydrator out there I used to have a Nesco but in my book it is no good it is round, how can you make jerky on a round dehydrator.

I bought this dehydrator a few years ago (minus the timer) and my dad was borrowing it so much that I gave it to him for Christmas. I've really missed having my dehydrator around so I got myself a new one. I love this one even more because I can't over dry my food with the timer!

I wonder if there is anything the Excalibur can't do--it is excellent for incubating yogurt, rising bread dough, drying fruit leather, and it is WONDERFUL for drying fruit of varied thicknesses. Also herbs. So easy to check the different trays. Simple to clean. It does the job it is designed to do, and perfectly. No regrets.

I bought the 9-tray with Timer! Super easy to set up and figure out! The fan is not loud and I'm so glad we bought the one with the timer! Would definitely suggest this product to anyone who wants to dehydrate! Love Excalibur!

This dehydrator is wonderful. All I had before was a small round Nesco dehydrator. It did the job, or so I thought and it was too small. I cant believe the difference! I no longer have to rotate the trays. I just pop in what I'm dehydrating, set temp, set timer and walk away. I couldn't be happier with my new dehydrator. Its quieter than my old one and dries a lot faster too. I would recommend this dehydrator to anyone who does a lot of dehydrating!

This was an upgrade after purchasing a smaller dehydrator that just wasn't big enough and didn't dry as efficiently. This is an awesome model! So, far I've made yogurt, granola, fruit/yogurt leathers, spaghetti sauce leathers, all kinds of dried fruit and veggies, lots of jerky, and orange and lemon zest from rinds. So, if you are having second thoughts about spending the extra money on this workhorse, be assured that it is well worth the money. With all that you can dry and set aside, it will pay for itself shortly.

I brought my dehydrator a few weeks ago and am very impressed with it's performance. Very well made and ease of use. Everything i've dehydrated has been perfect. Havn't bothered with the stove since i purchased my excalibur. Thank you so much.

The 9 tray fits perfectly on my counter. I have only used a few times so am still experimenting with times and temperatures. It is not as loud as I was told it would be. My kitchen is adjacent to the family room and I can still hear the TV, videos and music without having to turn up the volume.

Well, I have one too. I should use it more. Make sure you pat your meats relatively dry. I run mine outside because it makes the house smell delicious. I also have made treats for my dogs since I don't buy the Chinese imports.

I bought 3 of this dehydrators as I have so much produce to dry (I am starting a familybusiness). I was satisfied when I bought the first one and 7 months later I bought 2 more. I am very happy with the dehydrators, they are silent, pretty and most importantly, the produce comes out perfectly (flavor, color and smell wise, people can tell the difference). Both the trays and the machine itself are easy to clean (eventhough I want the stainless steel dehydrators and trays and I may sell this 3 dehydrators to my friends and go buy those ones) Why not 5 starts? 1. I think, but I am not sure (I need a device to measure properly), that they consume a lot of energy (come on: 600watts an hour? - or please explain me how is the energy cylce... how the energy is consumed...) so it could be more efficient in that aspect. 2. One of the dehydrators had the timer detached when it arrived (I didn't bought it from this site but from amazon so it was sent overseas). I know this may not be a manufacturer problem but a shipping problem, but I think Excalibur must have a distributor in my country and I think that when I make a purchase I buy not only the product but the customer service and everything around the product itself. So the 5th start is going to come when a Excalibur distributor sells me this products in my country, with customer service and full warranty. Anyway, I would recommend this product because it delivers what it promises: great dried fruits, veggies, snacks... :)

I have owned this for a few years, but I moved out of the country and gave it to my sister-in-law. I used it a ton. It is a bit spendy, but a great investment. I've made things like tortilla chips to kale chips, fruit leathers, jerky...so great. I will be buying a new one soon now that I am back in the US again!

I've had this model for just over a year, and I love it. I'm a 23 year-old male living alone, and I have trouble eating all my fruit before it gets too ripe, but I just smash it, or blend it, or chop it and toss it in my dehydrator for a few hours and BOOM, snacks for work. Love it. I'd recommend Excalibur to anyone looking for a good dehydrator. One thing that could be improved, since there is always something, I wish the trays were a little sturdier, you have to be careful when they are fully loaded with heavy fruits like pineapple.

I bought this several years ago to dry persimmons and other fruits and meat jerky for my dogs. It works great, and I use it all year round, especially in the fall when I dry hundreds of persimmons. It's durable as sometimes I run it everyday for weeks. I highly recommend this dehydrator. It only takes 4 hours to dry beef chunks for my dogs, and they're salt and preservative free.

I bought my Excalibur dehydrator over three years ago, and I can truly say its one of the best purchases I ever made! I live on a small farm so we always have a surplus during harvest time. With the dehydrator its easy to cut up the veggies, fruit or even leafy greens and dry them down ready for winter. Its much more economical than storing them in the freezer and takes a lot less space. I use the dehydrator all the time, literally. During the summer and especially late fall its working flat out day after day. Its quick and easy to use and keeps our surplus harvest from being wasted. I would say to anyone who has a vegetable or fruit garden that you really need one of these. Unless you have a huge family its guaranteed that when something comes up to harvest you are going to have too much of it at one time. This way you can enjoy the harvest for much longer. Make your own dried fruit or veggies and save money. Have too many apples on your tree, or figs or peaches. Don’t give them all away dry them down for later use, or give away as wonderful Christmas gifts. Everyone who grows their own food should have one of these. I looked around a lot before I bought this one and its certainly the best one out there, its easy to clean, easy to use and works perfectly.

We purchased this dehydrator last year and we absolutely loved it. We have dehydrated most of our veggies and have made beef jerky with it. The only problem that we have with it is that we can't make the jerky fast enough before it is eaten up. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to add a dehydrator to their kitchen.

We love your Excalibur! We purchased the 9 tray with timer and it has worked wonders for us. We have four kids so they each get a tray to dehydrate what fruit or veggie they want and that leaves me plenty of trays left over to dehydrate what I need to. I also love being able to purchase food when its in season and dehydrate it to use during the Winter months when the price of food doubles or triples. I used to waste so much food because I would only need a 1/4 to 1/2 of what I was purchasing but now we dehydrate the leftovers and throw it into stews and Harvest Soups. Its saved us so much money.

As an avid hunter, I bought this for the camo look .... what surprised me the most was the quality of the meat when I was done ! The jerky was evenly dehydrated, something the cheaper models don't do ! It's a little privey, but worth the difference !!
