Customer Reviews for American Standard Deep Soak Bathtub Drain in White

I read all of the reviews about this drain and searched for weeks to find an alternative. I finally gave up because they don't make it easy to find a compatible drain outside of what the tub manufacturer provides and my contractor was no help. So I bit the bullet and bought the deep soak drain. I love the fact that it allows me to get more water in the tub for a deeper soak. The drain cover is not the most attractive I've seen and I knew it was going to be cheap plastic, so I bought it in white and I'm glad I did. You can see it in the attached photo. It blends in with the color of the tub so it is not as noticeable and I didn't want a plastic fake chrome one. I didn't think I would like the push drain but it works really well. My contractor didn't mention that it was difficult to install and we haven't had any leaks after 3 months. So far, so good.

Welp. It is still in the box and I have not picked up the tub from the store. Your notifications software should know this since you are snooping in on all my communication

I made a mistake. I wanted this in a brushed nickel look. Unfortunately, looking at it online, I bought the wrong item. This one is installed and is cheap plastic. It looks terrible AND cheap

LOVE LOVE LOVE the deep soak and push button drain!!!

Plumber didn't have any issues installing it. I've used the tub a couple times and it is easy to use; seals well with the press of a hand and drains quickly. Color matches the finish of the tub so it blends in nicely.

Functional, but very cheap construction. All plastic. The giant, logo-emblazoned overflow cover cheapens the looks of our otherwise high-quality bathroom remodel. We bought this to give us more soaking depth in our new tub. It works for that, but if you care about quality and appearance, choose something else.

Perfect for our American Standard tub. I got white because I didn’t want any color to stand out. I have Venetian bronze fixtures.

Perfect plumbing to match the spa tub I purchased

Shoddy quality. Started leaking like crazy after second shower. Had to replace with a new plumber recommended drain, that was much higher quality, and about 60% cheaper.

This did not fit the American Standard Deep Soak tub I purchased it for. It was the one recommended online for the tub. I had to purchase separate parts to get it to work.

It seemed like there wasn’t a exact fit as the upper overflow drain wasn’t at the exact angle as the tub when mating together. I made it work but it was not as easy as it should of been. This is way over priced too. Then the plastic threading for the drain cross threads using plumber putty.

We love the tub, very pretty and easy to clean.

Sadly, the covers were a cheap plastic look. I returned the item.

Perfect fit

We ended up getting a tub with an integral overflow drain, so I returned this. I did take it out of the box and examine it. Seems really overpriced for a flimsy collection of plastic parts.

It works as stated. Easy to install and looks good.

Roughly $2 worth piece, which should not be sold for more than $10. For its price, it looks like a real rip-off. Unfortunately, this is "required" for all whirlpools. Can be easily replaced with standard pipes. Also, the click-on mechanism is not reliable, often does not block the water when in "closed" position.

This drain added some much needed water depth to our new tub. It was straight forward to install as long as you follow the directions very carefully. My plumber installed wrong...luckily i reviewed before he finished. Fit and finish was far ahead of what we replaced. Worth the extra cost. Would recommend this tub drain.

I like this drain, it's plastic, but well built. I would have given 5 stars but it was a bit expensive.

Just like other reviews here, the problem is that you can't just get a replacement part for this drain. It's only 2 years old and the rubber seal that slips under the stopper has broken away at the seam. I can't believe you can't just buy a new seal, it would be a simple fix. This is a terrible oversight that really ruins what would otherwise be a very nice product

This is the ticket to get that little extra fill room in your tub. I read other reviews about not getting parts and don't understand. I sent one email to American Standard and they sent me a replacement pop up drain. Once I got it I noticed that the brass screw on the old one was not down as far as the new one. I took it apart and screwed the brass bolt down and the old one works fine and now I have a spare part.

Product looked fine. Customer service at Home Depot was the issue.
