These wood markers work really well on solid wood but it takes a little bit of effort to work on laminate. I just discovered a little nick in my wood laminate floor so I tried it. You cannot rub it into that kind of wood surface but I found that dabbing it on those areas works well. Make sure you let it dry completely.

The stain does not take on all wood surfaces and rubs off easily
