The balusters themselves are very good looking and easy to install. I'm quite pleased with them, especially once installed. BUT, the screws provided with them are terrible! I wish I had read more of the reviews before I began installation, because at least 10% of the screws had their heads break off during installation. There's no excuse for this. I picked up a set of black all-purpose screws and they did just fine, but the supplied screws were worthless. Don't even bother with them!

The product arrived on time by Home Depot. The ballusters are being used over a doorwall . When I installed the product on wood using the included screws it became extremely sturdy and strong. I'm quite happy with product and the finished job. Mo from Michigan

When building a huge deck between our house and our above ground pool, my wife wanted the balusters to be different than others. I fought it at first but then got into her mindset and started looking for alternatives. Our desk is all wood and I didn't want the usual cheapo looking plastic railings that seem to be the trend lately. Our rails would be wood but we did not want typical wood balusters. We decided on these arched balusters from Deck-o-Rail. Yes they were more of an investment than wood balusters but - Wow - do they make our deck pop and stand out from the crowd. We are continually praised for our deck - the railings specifically - every time someone comes over and sees it for the first time. Was it more work the way we built it than your typical wood baluster job? Absolutely, but that was more because we sandwiched in the balusters on both sides. You don't need to buy we used 2x6's at top and bottom on both sides so you can't see where the balusters are screwed in. The way these bow outwards will make you feel like you have more room on your deck. A great thing! One warning - pay attention to which side of the baluster the screws go in. They holes are counter sunk only on one side for the head of the screw to sit neatly inside the hole. I did our backwards but it didn't matter much since the ends of our balusters are completely concealed. Another comment would not to be surprised, like others have said, if you get a baluster that is out whack with a bigger arch than the others once in a while. You have two options - discard it or use it. If you discard any that are then you can just return an extra full box with those that are out of whack when you are finished. To be honest though, we were in a hurry doing ours and the first time I had one like that and used it I told myself I would go back and fix it later. I never did because the truth of the matter is you just will never notice it again afterwards like you do while you are installing them. They look fine even if not perfect. Take your time and come up with a good plan before starting. I recommend doing a test set before installing any of them first. Uploading some pictures so you can see ours.

We were looking for an affordable option to build custom sized railing for our front porch. We have huge cypress columns but black aluminum lantern-like lights by the front door. Our front porch is also a bit narrow, so we wanted something that would go well with these features as well as not make our porch feel more narrow and claustrophobic. We attached these balusters to cypress railings to match our columns, and we love how it turned out! It matches perfectly, and the curved balusters really help keep a more open feeling on our narrow porch. With the help of a cousin who knew what he was doing, we were able to complete this project, including staining, in a few hours one Saturday.

Great quality. No chips in the paint and was what I was hoping for. I would have given 5 stars but I don't like square drive screws. I prefer torx.
