Great router for cabinet and furniture fabrication
I am extremely happy with this router. I bought it specifically to mount in a table to replace my aging freud router. I use it with large profile router bits for raised panel doors, moulding, and other similarly demanding projects, and it never lets me down. I have used it for about a year working with everything from oak and rock maple to poplar, and it has performed effectively in all of them. I have also used it freehand for a couple of more demanding plunge routing applications with excellent results. I have been particularly impressed at the limited heating under load, something which was more of an issue with the router it replaced.

Smooth and powerful
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this router specifically for flattening large size table tops and slabs, but it’s also been great for mortise joints too! I absolutely love it!!!

My favourite router...... Ever
I've owned this DW625EK model for over almost two decades. It replaced my still working Elu 713 'mule hacker' now in my router table.
I use it to chew lumps of timber with 40mm planing bits and to carve detailed inserts & decorative inlays using 2.5mm bits.
It's so well balanced that it barely moves when running freely. Parts are available everywhere and the collet come in a full range of sizes. So using CNC solid carbide cutters is easy.
The only improvement I would make is slightly softer plunge springs to facilitate easier engraving and carving.
I rate this model as outstanding and always recommend it.

This router is a beast. I bought it after I burned up a 2 HP router. I have absolutely no issue in the way the router function operates with one exception. The preset depth adjustment is difficult to use. it takes me a long time to set up the router for rails and stiles to match up perfectly. The 2hp Dewalt router that I have has a rack and pinion adjustments that I can adjust to the 1/64 of an inch. The 3 HP Router has a course adjust but the fine adjust is a course thread bolt that is not calibrated.

Good Power
I have had this router for 15+ years but use it only occasionally. The base connection to the plunge posts is not stiff and allows depth of cut to vary in use depending on cut direction, force, etc. Impossible to set a precise depth since the base will not remain square to the bit. Using an accurate straight edge and .0001" caliper it is routine to have 0.030" variation across a 3/4" bit. Trying to cut finger joints for glue-up of boards it is impossible to hold adjoining faces closer than .020-.030' Plane thick and plan on lots of sanding

An awesome machine!
I've been using this router for about ten years. It does everything I need it to from deep dados to the finest ogees and precise raised panel work. Put an old bit in it and do your roughest plywood work... it doesn't shudder - even if everyone else does! When I mount it to a table, I remove the column springs in order to make it easier to raise the bit into the work (the springs are strong!). Great piece from DeWalt!

I'm a professional woodworker /cabinet maker and I've used this model router for probably 20 years or more and have never had a single issue with it ! IMO it's the finest router on the market period ! It's a precision tool and everything works smoothly ! One thing I discovered about this router that may not be mentioned in any other review or in the tools manual is that the collett is very deep. This can be a huge benefit when using very long router bits for deep plunging cuts.

Dewalt router
Love the plunger router but the handles are weak they get loose and you have to re-tighten all the time
