I bought this ice machine for my husband for Christmas for our Bar. This is a wonderful machine and we used it Christmas day. This machine is easy to use and no special hook up needed. Just plug in and add water. Select small,medium,or large cubes that you desire. Through the day we made all sizes. When we first got it the booklet said to do a 50/ 50 vinegar/water rinse and then just a water rinse. Then add water to the fill line which is 2 litres of water and in less then 5 minutes we had ice. The ice cubes were hard not soft.Kept the drinks cold nicely. Easy to clean unplug and drain into the sink and dump the ice and leave the machine open to air dry. We used reverse osmosis water in this machine and all of our other machines. This is a awesome machine and well worth the money. We love it. Home Depot price is good.

A little noisier than the one it replaced,but worth it. It has many more features and better capacity.

We have had this maker for over a year (10/11) and have been only able to use it for 1 month. We took it in one time to an authorized dealer while under warranty and it worked for about 2 weeks. Took it to another dealer after warranty to be worked on, and it still does not work. They had difficulty getting parts from Danby. Would never buy this product.

I was very excited when the ice maker was received. Looked great and made ice very fast. I thought it was a good value at the time. However, it went into fault program within two weeks of the purchase so it was returned.

This product is worth the puchase! It makes ice in no time and your beer is always cold!!! We love it!

makes ice very fast and I haven't had it long so I can't comment o n the products long term reliability but I like it. It is quite large and heavy but if you have the space It is great. The only negative is that the ice melts in the bin quite fast after ii is made.

A recent move from a large home to a condo had me longing for my old fridge with the ice maker, but there's just no room here. I went in search of ice makers and settled on this one after much research. Buying online from Home Depot was fast and easy with the unit arriving at my door in less than a week. I quickly realized this was too big for my counter top so chose to place it on the floor in my laundry room. I am now an ice making fool - I love my ice machine. I keep it on all day, turn it off at night and let the ice melt back into the water tray, and make fresh in the morning. Once a week I replace the water. This little beast does what it claims - makes ice fast, and makes it steady.

I bought this because I have a friend who already has one and he said it's great. I recently bought a tent trailer and think this will be great for the trailer to plug in and fill up bags for keeping in the portable cooler because all the food doesn't fit in the fridge. It'll also be fantastic because I like lots of ice in my drinks!! ;) I won't have to go to get ice because I'll have it ready to go from my ice maker. It's a beautiful thing!!

I've had this ice maker before for 3 1/2 years & it's made lots of ice. It is a bigger machine than most of them out there & it makes bigger ice. glad I found another one.

Excellent portable ice maker. This is the third portable icemaker I've had (others were not Danby products) and it's the only one that was able to get ahead of us--we had to start bagging. With ice at $2.75 and up per bag, I'm sure it will pay for itself in one camping season. The convenience is fabulous and will be especially in the fall, when retail ice supplies slow down--many times in the fall we have purchased ice and it is from the bottom of the freezer, and mostly "frost" by then. We travel with our travel trailer so for some it may be slightly large, works well for us, just check out the dimensions for your "spot" for the ice maker before you buy.

Should be a way the basket could empty out and refill when full on its own. Time consuming to have to watch it constantly.

What a great little machine - needed to make lots of ice quickly for several weeks due to a couple of sport injury surgeries. bought 2 different ice machines - same price and this ice maker far outperformed the other. Matter of fact - don't even use the other one any more, just this one! great value for the money. Highly recommend.

Pleased with this ice maker. Easy to use and makes great ice bullets. If it has long-term reliability then it would be perfect. I have no experience with any other portable ice makers to make any kind of comparison.

This ice maker is very fast it makes a dozen cubes in approx. 10 min.I made 3 bags of ice cubes in 2 hrs the other night fantastic machine.no mess .This will be used a lot this summer at our trailer.

Small, medium to large icecubes in a fraction of the time. 9-15 minutes for enough cubes. I haven't made the 33lbs it can make in 24 hours, but will get a workout this weekend. Make sure you clean it as per the instruction booklet and have a bucket to equal the water reservoir, and you'll be all set! GREAT UNIT!

The Darby portable ice maker has met our needs as people that need Ice for our Breg Kodiak cold compression system for post opt operations. Both of us have used it with great sucess. We can make as much as the fridge freezer will hold, and keep plenty when we need it. We have been using it for weeks now and are very happy with the product, plus it is just so easy to make ice whenever you want. Oh yea, the ice is excellent for cold drinks of any kind. Thanks to Danby and to home depot

Just received this promptly from Home Depot. Worked great! The manual says 9 - 15 mins for a batch of ice, did take longer than that but patience is a virtue. Love the fact we can use our filtered water.

If you need ice in a big way, this unit does just that. It was easy to set up, fill and empty. This machine makes three sizes of ice without complications. It knows what to do at the end of a cycle, and tells you the next step on it's screen. Can not go wrong with this unit. after all it is called "ICE and EASY" and it really is. Have already recommended to friends, and they love it.

Just bought this icemaker and it was delivered fairly fast and was just as advertised. Have tried it out a few times so far and am quite impressed. Makes ice fast and keeps it frozen for a fair time,,,day and a half so far and still counting,,,runs pretty quiet too,,so far its a good buy.

Works great, quiet, makes ice very fast. Only thing I would change about it is the drainage in the back, we made some slight modifications (added a hose) to it so it would drain better, otherwise it leaves a bit of water at the bottom. I would definitely recommend this machine to others! Price is reasonable and shipping was very fast and cheap! :)

We gave this to our father for Christmas and it seems to work really well. It says it makes ice in 10 minutes and it does but we were wrong to assume that meant a full tray load. The ice is bullet shaped and you can choose three sizes of ice. So far we're pretty impressed with it!

This machine is perfect for our needs. We do not need large quantities of ice but when we do it makes it quicklya nd efficiently. The different sizes of cubes are also a plus.

I bought this machine on the idea of us camping during the summer months and that we are always going through bags of ice to keep our food cool...then it struck me...our daughter is getting married out at the lake this summer...what a great idea to keep all the food trays and salads at the reception cool and ice for the quests drinks. I made my 1st batch of ice cubes tonight just for "fun" !! Both my husband and I decided that our new "toy" was a good investment !!!!
