Have only had door for 5 days but so far a great addation to our house. Should have changed it years ago. Added window which lets so much light in the garage and the sound from out side and noise when opening and closing reduction is great.

The house we bought had uninsulated plain white garage doors. As with a lot of houses, our garage is the prominent feature of the house front. We researched garage door companies and found Clopay to have a great reputation. We were able to find faux wood doors with windows that perfectly matched our new mahogany wood front door. We upgraded to the Intellicore insulation with Medallian hardware and now our garage is warm and quiet when in operation, all for a great price. These garage doors have completely changed the look of our house-- it is now beautiful and inviting!

I’m very happy with my new Gallery Collection Steel door. It was very easy to install, but not my first time doing it either, and looks great. Up only a few hours before the neighbors all we’re asking about it and telling how much they liked it. Very happy that I decided upon the windows as well. Adds light to the garage. This is Model number GR2LU in a 16’x7’, 18.4R value 2” thick door.

My new garage door was the perfect compliment to our re done home. The faux wood selections and many window selections made it very fun to choose a door. Great looking door, quiet and well insulated too!

Love the look and quality of the door. The window grills are cheap plastic otherwise I would have rated a 5 star. I got the 32 inch radius on the track and love the headroom inside

My wife and I could not be more impressed with our new garage doors. We replaced 29 year old compressed wooden doors and the difference is stunning! Not just in curb appeal, but in the difference in insulation of the garage. The 18.4 R Value has made a tremendous difference. By far the best upgrade investment we have made so far in our new home!!! Thoroughly impressed with our Clopay doors!!

My garage has completely changed with the new installation. More light without the heat, due to the insulated glass. The garage seems to be cooler, with the insulated panels.

I just installed three GD1LP 10x7 walnut finish garage doors on a customers home and they loved how the new doors increased the curb appeal of the home tremendously. The customer loved all of the options they could choose from with the help of our salesman. They said it was a difficult decision to choose between all of the possible colors, woodtones, and window options. Then came all of the insulation options. They were happy to see there was an insulation value for all budgets. They also wanted to thank Clopay for all of their amazing products and their vision for the future.

Happy with the quality of the door. The installers were wonderful. Please with there work. Only problem I had the color wasn't as dark as display. And the color didn't match our other two door purchase same place. Set of double doors and one single.

The door has completely lived up to our expectations. We changed out our windowless insulated steel door with a Clopay windowed, super (R18) insulated, door. With the windows, our garage is much brighter inside now, especially on sunny winter days as our house face south. The sun coming through the windows in the winter helps warm the cars on cold sunny days. In our Minnesota winters the garage is staying 5 - 10 degrees warmer than with the old door. It stays around 40 degrees inside the garage when it's below zero outside--without a heater. Our garage is about 50% tuck under. If you keep your garage closed, like us, in the summer the super insulated door contains the heat of the cars and keeps the garage quite warm. We installed the door ourselves using the video provided, along with the instruction manual. We completed removal and installation in one day. The top windowed panel is very heavy so we needed the assistance of a young, strong, neighbor to help lift it into place. Other than that, my wife and I did the installation ourselves. We are very please with the door and it has really enhanced the appearance of our house.

We are so extremely happy with the updated curb appeal thay our new garage doors have given our house as well as the insulation factor which makes such a huge difference! We love the light that comes in from the windows in the doors! Of course our installer Trapp Doors was excellent!

We looked at a number of different door manufacturers and chose Clopay because of the value offered in superior styling options. We selected a Steel Gallery, 3-layer Intellicore insulation with an Arch grille window, lift handles, step plate and strap hinges. We knew this selection of door options would be a superior look to our old door, but we never imagined how much positive feedback we'd receive from our neighbors and friends. Our Clopay door has very noticeably improved the look of our home and it shields out the cold/heat and the traffic noise from the street.

We are so delighted with our new garage door. We did not realize what a dramatic effect the new door would have on our house. Not only was the service to order it wonderful, but easy to order, as well. We made the bold change to order the door in black with windows to match the shutters on the house. The Clopay app allowed us to make these changes online by seeing what the house would look like before ordering the door. I have attached the "before" and "after" photos. Also, the new insulated door is much quieter. We could not be happier!

I have 5 wood colored Gallery garage doors total. Three on the house, and two on the detached garage. All were a new construction professional install, 12/2014. In the last 2.5 years, both the detached garage doors have been replaced two times because of delamination issues. Now on the third set and adfter a few months, no issues yet. I have been working through the professional installer so far, but it takes 2-3 months to receive the replacements. I do not know how long the replacements will last. We just hope the manufacturer's warranty starts over with every install and that Clopay doesn't discontinue the door color/style!

I ordered 3 of these doors, all were delivered on time and without any damage. I installed them by myself. I have never installed a garage door before. It took me all day to install the first one. the second day I installed the other 2 with time to spare. The kits come with plenty of extra hardware, but if you have to move any of the riveted-on track brackets you will have to buy small bolts to replace the rivets you drill out. Clopay says they will send you some for free but who has time to wait for that? The wood grain printed on the door is very convincing from a short distance. They are gloss white on the inside.

I purchased two 7X9 GR1SU 3-layer doors as special order from Home Depot. The doors took about three weeks to arrive. The parts list in the install manual does not show all the parts included it only shows a generic listing, so you can't ensure you have every part before you start installation. It turned out, I was missing critical parts. I called number on manual, but was directed to special Home Deport number (1-877-526-2050). After one week, the parts did not arrive. I called a second time and was told they didn't ship yet - a week later? Not good. They said they would ship soon. Hopefully they will arrive soon. Installation wasn't too bad. You definitely need to have some mechanical ability. Not all holes are predrilled, so you need to be able to measure and drill. The side supports for the doors have pre-drilled holes that fit over the main door sections, which also have predrilled holes. In many cases, the holes did not align well. This results in the roller bracket mounting screws getting installed crooked. See the pics I've attached. My biggest complaint is waiting so long to get missing parts delivered and the poor build of the door panels by the manufacturer. A little quality control here would go a long way. I would have scored this 4 stars if it weren't for poor customer service.

The installation requires 9-10 hours per door, decent skills and a set of tools. You'll be planning, measuring & centering, metal cutting, drilling, screwing (lots) and leveling. I was able to do a 9'x7' door alone, but it's quite difficult to lift the door before getting the springs installed, since you're lifting the entire door yourself and mine weighs over 150 lbs, I would guess. I was disappointed that the panels are not pre-drilled for the handle hardware. It takes a significant amount of time accomplish - to transfer drill points from the drawing to the door panel, then to drill the holes, install the spacers, then bolt on the handles. At one point, the instruction said to drill 1/2" holes for handle spacers, but the spacers were only about 3/8". This was the only really bad instruction I found. The other big effort that is not handled by the kit is the support structure for the rear of the tracks. You must purchase your own angle irons and fasteners, plan a support with angle braces, cut to fit, and install on your garage roof. If the garage roof trusses are not well spaced for this, then you'll also need to purchase 2x4's to nail up to create good mounting platforms for the the support structures.

Purchased 3 doors 9x8 for new construction in a log home. Great looking doors, my builder thought they looked much more expensive. Needed good R value as garage will be heated.

It was missing parts

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were extremely pleased with the style, look, and quality of our Clopay garage doors.

I was due on November 30 after 6 weeks. As of December 4 it’s still not here. Apparently, after the order is fulfilled it is sent to an installer who subs for HD. Since I was not having it installed they deliver it at their convenience. Still don’t have it.
