Not a good investment.
This refrigerator is 5 years old and is falling apart. Both door shelves on the right broke in half, spilling condiments, eggs, and drinks all over the inside of the refrigerator. I got cut on the resulting broken glass. They broke 6 months apart. The trim on the bottom shelf inside the top area is deteriorating. The ice maker works when it wants to. Not at all the upscale (very expensive) appliance we thought we were purchasing.

    Worst refrigerator I've ever owned, ice maker never works well, endless water leaks and ice build up under bottom drawer. Starting to ruin kitchen floor.. I'll never buy another Samsung refrigerator again..

        Excellent with a few exceptions
        I LOVE most of the options on this refrigerator! I really like being able to change the bottom right section into a refrigerator or freezer. I love that the 34 cubic feet fits into our existing refrigerator space in the kitchen. I love that the lower drawers in the freezer and convertible compartment are full-extension and deep! I LOVE the Chef's pantry drawer; it is wide and easy see and access the foods inside. I use it for meat and cheese. It is Super Quiet!!! My only complaints would be the following.... 1. no real adjustable shelving in the upper main compartment--I had to take out the smaller narrow shelf to accommodate for milk, lemonade, pitchers, etc. 2. Doors on this compartment seem to slam unless we are careful about shutting them; however, the lower doors are perfect! 3. Soda-steam is not a feature I like or will ever use. 4. Door bins in lower compartments are too shallow. 5. Door bins in upper main compartment on the right side are not adjustable. I had to take out the butter tray to accommodate for taller items like salad dressing and other taller bottles because they are too tall for all of the shelves (except the space where I took out a small shelf which is occupied by milk). Cannot fit two gallons of milk in one bin. The one gallon of milk I did place there was 6 degrees warmer than on the shelf inside the upper main compartment, so I had to swap it for orange juice and lemonade containers. 6. Water dispenser area is strange. I have to hold a cup to get water and ice into it. If I set the cup down, the water goes behind the water tray at the bottom. It makes a mess. I just have to get used to it. We are making the necessary adjustments to fit all of our food inside, but I was disappointed that I had to remove a shelf and butter compartment to make it work.

          Don’t do it
          Ice maker never worked. They came out 7+ times and still no so we gave up. Next the top stopped cooking despite new sensors and evap and new control panel. Love the design. Flex space has been awesome but awful waste of money otherwise.

              I wish I had known about the defect and continued issues with the ice maker on these Samsung refrigerators. Very disappointed because it's a great size and the drawers are great for better organization of items

                Ice maker design flaw
                although we enjoy the size and layout of our fridge, the ice maker has been a nightmare. it frequently ices over and we are knocking ice down once a week. then there is no ice. just had my bottom right compartment electronics fail, and it can no longer be a freezer. for the money we spent, i expect better quality. we will not buy samsung again.

                  Discontinued overly priced hunk of garbage
                  Purchased this model RF34H9960S4/AA this model also has a carbonation bottle in the left upper door which eventually failed, leaked and damaged the door trim. The door trim can not be replaced it requires a new entire upper left door which is over $400, this pretty lame. The other issue is one that has plagued Samsung ice makers, the are designed poorly and will not last much longer that 2 years. I highly recommend that you look elsewhere, but if you have to have a Samsung get the longest warranty you can and plan on replace it in 4-5 years.

                    Aesticallay Beautiful but not Functional
                    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] for a family that owns several samsung products and frequently looks to the samsung brand without pause, we are now very cautious!!! the samsung chef collection is a beautifully conceptually imagined refrigerator but unfortunately the execution of something as simple as the ice maker, water chilling ability and flex door takes this into an entry level refrigerator without an icemaker/water option. we bought this in january 2017 and had our first issue with 8 month. the issues have been ongoing post the first repair to where we just have to breakdown and get another refrigerator. buyer beware and avoid this money pit!!!

                      Nice fridg design - WORST ICE MAKER!
                      [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] you pay an exceptional price for what you hipe is an exceptional refrigerator-stop dont do it! the ice maker will freeze up leaving you with a solid mess that will not make ice! i had to defrost the ice maker repeatedly. now the i e maker just stopped working and i have to contact a service rep and it will cost even more money. what makes this an even worse experience is that i see people are having the same problem which tells me samsung knkws about the faulty ice maker and has not corrected the problem. does samsung even care?? i don’t know but i hope they do. right now i would say to never buy this samsung refrigerator. you will pay a lot for what you expect to be a quality producr and not end up with one!

They can damage the surface of the appliance and may cause a fire. Do not spray the refrigerator with water while it is plugged in. This can cause an electric shock. To clean the refrigerator, follow these steps: 1. Unplug the power cord of the refrigerator. 2. Slightly dampen a soft, lint-free cloth or paper towel with water. Do not use any kind of detergent to clean the refrigerator because that can discolor or damage the refrigerator. 3. Wipe the inside and outside of the refrigerator until it is clean and dry. 4. Plug the power cord of the refrigerator back in. This information can be found on pages 49 of the user manual.                                           Lots of room
                                          I bought this refrig awhile back. I do enjoy having this refrig and lots of room in the freezer. The only problem I have with it is the ice maker. I have had the bucket replaced twice. the bottom of the bucket cracks and now leaks.

                                                We’ve had this fridge for about 3 months. It has been just fine for us. I would imagine those people with the ice maker problem may have caused their own issue. You must carefully shut the top door with the ice maker side as it slams shut every time you close it. I would say that this is a design flaw, but it is what it is. It’s a heavy door. Either way, everything so far is working as it should. I bought a cartridge for the soda stream, I find myself drinking a lot more water since. We probably don’t use the entire fridge they way it was intended, but it certainly enough space for us. We bought an extended warranty just in case.

                                                  DO NOT buy this fridge from Home Depot or anyone else. We loved it initially (still love sparkling water in door), but ice maker was never right. We had it serviced several times for freezing up completely. Samsung finally replaced the fridge after only a year, and now the replacement fridge is doing the same thing. PLUS, Samsung tells us that the one year warranty only covered the original fridge, not the replacement so we will have to fight to even get this piece of garbage repaired.

This is a wonderful refrigerator and I would have rated it a five star if they could fix the following. The door does not self close, which is fine if the opened door alert beep was louder. The opened door beep cannot be heard if one is more than two feet away. There have been many occasions in which the doors were left open and no one notice until the food was warm in the morning. With young kids it is hard to monitor the doors. There is suppose to be a network capability to alert problems like this but it does not work with my Apple devices. I called Samsung about a louder open door beep setting and the app issue. They said there is no fix. The height adjust-ability is not as great as it should be. One has to adapt to the fixed heights instead of the fridge adjusting to the user. The fridge looks great and the SodaStream function is wonderful.

                                                      Huge upgrade
                                                      We had a 28 cubit ft double door fridge and upgraded to this model. I had no idea how much more space this one had until we got it home. Amazing is all I can say. LOVE the chef's drawer for meats and how easy it is to marinate meats. Also love that I can switch the bottom right back to a fridge if I need it at any time. Easy accessibility and great pull out shelves for cleaning and reaching things in the back of the refrigerator. We got the one with the Sparkling Water dispenser and we're already hooked. The ONLY drawback is that you need to check your space before buying. You will need room not only for the fridge, but room to open the large doors outwards. My husband had to cut part of our doorway leading to our formal dining to allow space for the doors to open fully. Fortunately, he is handy, and was able to do this (it was quite a little job, but well worth it). Depth is deeper than most fridges and height, as well. Just check your space thoroughly before buying. We're in love with our new Samsung Chef Series Fridge!

                                                        Great design, quality questionable
                                                        We've loved this fridge for 2.5 years; had our kitchen modified to fit it specifically. It looks great, fits lots of items and the area that can either be fridge or freezer is a very nice touch. However, for such an expensive design I am massively disappointed in the quality of the shelving components. Within 6 months one door shelf had cracked down the front. Then another and just today one split in half. Now I've owned Samsung fridges before and a few others and I've seen where abuse can cause damage but just opening closing the doors should not cause this in under 3 years. They have either used the wrong plastic for these door shelves or the QC is poor. I would not recommend it based on that failure point, unfortunately, as otherwise it is the best fridge I have seen on the market.

                                                          I am an avid juicer ang buy in bulk. The fridge has so many compartments there is room for everything. It is the largest refrigerator I've ever owned and it's dead quiet. The one warning is the size. You will need to have 72 inches of vertical clearance to fit the box. I have exactly 72 inches and there is only a tiny bit of clearance at the top.
