The fan is well constructed and pushes air efficiently. However, it's a bit on the loud side. I measured the fan noise at 75dBA right at the fan, and 65dBA at about 12 inch from the fan. The unit is rated at 4 sones, I believe that's equivalent to ~50dB, so the measured level is way above the spec. If you need a fan to exhaust your garage or workshop, this would be a nice fit.
