Shutters are easy to install and look great. I'm very happy with them and have included a photo to show the installed product. I originally thought they had some very minor imperfections from the molding process around the back edges of some of the shutters, but realized this was not an issue at all. At first, I noticed some residual vinyl on some back edges and thought the small amount of excess vinyl might need to be sanded to clean up the edges, but then I realized that the shutters were actually manufactured as a pair and that one edge was very clean while the opposite might have a few small pieces of extra vinyl (from the mold). I also noticed that every pair has one shutter which is perfect on the right side, while the other shutter in that pair is perfect on the left side. This means that if you hang them logically (i.e. with the perfect edge on the most visible (outer) side, then they require no extra sanding to remove any excess vinyl remnants. So even though a few vinyl remnants from the mold might exist on some of the shutters, they don't require any extra work and are not visible when hung correctly. One nice surprise in a couple of the boxes (I purchased 6 boxes of shutters) was an extra shutter lock fastener. I would love if every pair of shutters included one extra shutter lock fastener as they can sometimes break and having an extra is very useful.

Made an unbelievable improvement to the house with minimal effort and cost. On the job learning to install the first set of shutters on the siding. I wouldn't say the other 4 sets were a breeze, but an 85 year old man was able to install 5 sets of shutters in under 10 hours.

These shutters are quite flimsy and the mounting screws are plastic. The screws are also pretty thick and require you to drill large holes in your siding. I purchased these in black and they did not quite meet my expectations of a deep black- you can tell if your house faces the sun they will fade in a few years. They are affordable though so you can add curb appeal on a budget.

The shutters look perfect. We even had Home Depot match their color to create exterior paint for our front door. So happy with them.

Very lightweight and easy to install even in masonry (stucco) ! The color, forest green, was perfect. We are planning to repaint the trim aroun d the window so we will be able to easily remove the shutters when we do that ...

If you're looking for a fairly inexpensive shutter replacement that will last (I expect) virtually forever, this is the way to go. Obviously, size needs will vary for individual applications...so assuming you've found the size you need, let me comment on the product itself: I purchased the 'paintable' version for two main reasons: (1) I really didn't want the shutters to look like plastic...so painting them gives them the look of wood (matching the remaining shutters on my house), and (2) the 'white' version simply wasn't white enough to match my other shutters. (Unless you're replacing ALL your shutters, the 'paintable' version is the way you'll want to go for 'color matching' purposes...let alone if you should wish to change colors in the future.) These are light and almost 'cheap' looking out of the package, so be ready for this feeling if you decide to purchase these. That said, they do the job very well. The grain molded into the plastic makes them indistinguishable from real wood and, once painted, I would challenge anyone to tell the difference between these and a real wood shutter just by looking at them. Plus, because of the plastic material used, the slats won't be warping over time so they should continue to look good for a long, long time. One caution: You'll have to be a little creative and handy in determining how to fasten these to your house. It's fairly easy to figure out an alternative solution to the fasteners provided (which are plastic and appear to me like they will not hold well in a storm, despite requiring drilling of several fairly large holes into the house). I personally wouldn't trust the large plastic 'screws' that come with the units. But again, determining an alternative fastening method for your personal needs isn't all that difficult. My own need was to replace a single pair of old wood shutters that were falling apart. Without a doubt, I will be purchasing these for the rest of my house (assuming I can get the right sizes) over time as the need arises. I wish they came in sizes wider than 15" (maybe 18-24") but for the most part, these fit the bill.

I've had these on my house for 10+ years. I used the supplied fasteners and drilled holes just like the instructions said. No problem at all. Looks great ands adds character to home. Neighbors liked them also, and added to the house with different colors. Never had a problem with wind, rain, sleet, snow. Read and follow the instructions and its a cakewalk.

I purchased three sets in two sizes. I live in Tampa Bay ,Florida and attaching to cinder block. I had a friend with great tools help me-drill tip ,a level,, nail to break up brick bits inside . I though we would need regular nails for this but he is a Carpenter and he said we could use the plastic nails that came with it.The Plastic nails that came with this have a finished head which actually looks very nice . We had to cut the plastic nails down a bit - I had a tool that I use for cutting pipe for in ground sprinkler and it was perfect to do that. Out of the box the do feel a bit cheap .. but up on the house secured they look really nice and don't have a cheap feel or look. They give you 4 nails for EACH shutter so they can be very secure. We actually on used 2 .. top and bottom. But I will have these extras when I have to remove them to paint the house in a few years and have to pull theses out. Good Purchase!

Installation kit (plastic bolts) included has very limited use. Ended up getting stainless steel self-drilling screws for more secure mounting.
