The jnternal plate is bery hard to attach with the door.

They sent me a substitute knob that does not match the picture above. So now I have the hassle to return it and be delayed on my project. Very disappointed in Home Depot!

Solid. Easy to install

Only issue is that the Ryobi jig I used to drill a hole made a hole too large in my door for this deadbolt. Make sure to look at the size of the plate that holds the lock to the door.

The one-sided deadblot lock itself is fine. The installation instructions could use improvement.

Great dead bolt!

Fairly straightforward installation, note, the instructions posted on the HD item listing are incorrect for this product (they are for a through-hole, double-sided deadbolt instead of this one, which is a blind-hole, single-sided unit), but the installation instructions included in the box are correct. A regular holesaw cannot be used, as a blind hole is required for mounting, meaning a forstner bit is needed (1.5" diameter). The mounting hole is bored to a depth of 1/2 the door thickness + 3/8". The cylinder bore and mounting/strike plate mortises are the same as standard deadbolts. One nice feature is they provide 4" screws for mounting the reinforced strike plate backer, which provides extra resistance against 'kick-in' style impact. The bolt itself is ANSI grade 1, the strongest you can get. All-in-all, a good value for a very secure single-sided deadbolt.

The borehole that the mounting plate attaches to is specified at 2 1/8. However, the mounting plate is supposed to attach to the outside rim of the bore hole per the customer support (called twice). The mounting plate actually fits inside the bore hole because it is too small for the bore hole. Customer support only provided a solution that required an aftermarket product that affected to the appearance of the product. The solution should have been invisible. Per the customer support, the borehole of 2 1/8 has been an industry standard for many years. This product was designed for the prior standard. Per customer support, there is no schlage product for single sided deadbolt that meets the current standard.

This is not a complete deadbolt all you get is what is pictured.Had to go to Lowes for the same complete deadbolt. sorry.

Be sure you understand the required bore size. It's not the standard 2 1/8" so you can't pull out your trusty lock boring jig and fire away. Works well. Gives me the desired look.

Buyer beware - the hole is to be drilled only 1/2 way through the door - so with an existing door, this one might not serve your needs!

Easy to install in a hollow metal door; it might be difficult to bore a 1.5 inch hole into a solid door without punching through the front side. Looks great.
