Very nice set with lot so sizes and of outstanding heat treated heavy grade Back Oxide carbon steel material, with laser etched marking that I don't think will wear off any time in the next century. Saw in another review complained about no tool to hold the tap, I have a tool but 99.9% of the time I use my drill as is much faster than doing my hand and some of the taps don't fit in the holder I have, never looked to see if others are build to take more sizes. Is you have not tried with a drill on low speed you should try it. I can tap 10 times more in the time it takes to do by hand. Bosch you can beat there tools and this is a great set
Needed a small set of taps to keep on the home toolbox. These work really well. I wouldn't consider them for a shop, but they seem perfect for keeping at home. So far, I have used these to tap on to aluminum, carbon steel, and stainless steel. I was a bit hesitant to use these on stainless, but it did just fine. There is no T-Handle included. You will need a 1/4"-3/4" tap and reamer wrench for these.
I use tap and dies around the farm for irrigation fittings that I can use without having to install specialized piping for our irrigation uses. So the reality of using these tools is that it simply saves me money. I know that some tap sets have limited use in tougher metals, but these have performed well with the applications I use. I would like to see a fitted handle to accommodate the different size taps, but I had no problem using a pair of clamping pliers. Probably the big difference with these compared to others is the sharpness. The taps are nice and sharp making them much easier to start and use.
This is a nice tap set. It comes with all the most common used sizes. I tend to use them with a drill but very slow. On mild untreated steel and Aluminum it works very well. I wont recommended using them on anything harder than that. Each tap come laser etched and is pretty easy to read. I do wish that did come with more than one 1/4-20 since they are used the most and tend to break easy.
Bosch has made their sets correctly. This set has both your fine and coarse thread taps you will need. These black oxide taps have worked well with most mild steels you will need for your everyday jobs. As long as you use the drill this set lists for the threads you want cut you will get a finished fastening hole for most of your needs. Unless you are a 'machinist' or metal 'smith', these taps deliver the finish that will complete your project consistently.
Haven't actually used them yet. These reviews are asked for right away as they assume that you need it right away. But I am "stocking" for future use. However, the Bosch name assures me that they are good. Nice sizes up to 1/4-20. Case small enough so you can put it in a tool bag full of stuff.

Nice set but.....
Where is the handle for this set?
A handle should be definitely included, I mean, come on!

Worth its weight in gold!
I am restoring a C4 Corvette and this set is ESSENTIAL. This premium quality metric threading kit has saved me more than it cost in
the last 2 months. You can not restore a C4 correctly without it!
