sturdy but painful awning
Many misdrilled holes, some poor painting and repainting, some small rust spots, VERY weak instructions, helpfut customer service from AWn Tech...now that it's done it was worth it but no walk in the park....more like a stumble thru the weeds installing.

Big savings for "do-it-yourself" homeowners
I saved just a bit over $900 by purchasing this metal awning, assembling it and installing it compared to a retail bid for an awning and installation. It looks very nice. The downsides I found are: 1) the instructions are very limited so you will need to be able to imagine how it all goes together; 2) many screw holes were either absent or simply in the wrong place; 3) and, most important downside, the 80" span is simply too much for the way this particular unit is fastened together at the middle. What I did to overcome this was to purchase about a 5 feet length of aluminum 1" right angle metal and then I screwed it on the "projected" flat piece to take out a more than obvious "sag." It worked fine, added a little cost, but solved a visual thing that would have driven me crazy. So, the price is right, the delivery was fast, the instructions are poor to nonexistent, and the awning needed some beefing up to keep it from sagging at a mid-span frame join. All in all, I'd do it again, would recommend it for a handy man type.
