We didn't initially install this with our furnace, but added it this year. This valve has taken us from needing to tend the fire every 2 hours, to just needing to tend it 3-4 times a day. Our house is now warm in the morning still, with the blower still running on our coal furnace. So far, there's been no more starting the fire every morning and every time life stepped in during the day. The valve itself seems very sturdy, and is super easy to adjust. It swings freely when needed. We also bought a manometer (which is also crucial) to know where the valve needed set to insure the best draft and burn for our furnace. Great product, very necessary, and saving us tons on heating. Even though the price here was the lowest I've found anywhere, the quality is still top notch.

This was an industry acceptable product that came with good instructions for someone with limited experience in stove venting. I did have to reverse the damper 180 degrees as it came mounted for wood stove application and I was using it for venting a coal stove. When pricing barometric dampers, I saw prices as much as 21/2 times this one.
