They work for my purpose, and keep the sun out. They are see-through which is nice. But they need a little more weight on the end to secure them as a shade.

Bought custom cut to length shades. Selection of color was good, price very good and quality very good. Shades were easy to install using directions and included hardware. Result was significant reduction in heat entering through direct sun windows, while still maintaining a nice amount of light to pass through; Wish we had installed these long ago !

Great blind! Definitely blocks the light. Work 3rd shift , so when I sleep during the morning/afternoon no light comes in to wake me up.

I bought this shade for a garage window and it's exactly what I wanted. Easy to put up too.

Colour wasn't as I expected, I bought cream, but they are more of a butter colour. They don't roll up evenly and when I searched he trouble shooting on the web, it was so hard to understand and repair that neither myself or my husband could follow. I now have to use both hands to draw them up pulling on the left of the blind so that they don't roll unevenly and get stuck half way.

This is the second order we have placed for these shades after the first order performed so well. We use them on unshaded south-facing windows, and they allow us to have the curtains open without much, if any, heat gain. They also are supposed to block UV light. While that is harder to evaluate, I can say we haven't noticed any sun fading in the first room we installed them in. My only wish is that they came in white, as they add a definite yellow cast to the room. Depending on existing decor/color schemes, this could be a drawback.

I purchased this shade in ivory. It works well at blocking the sun, but is not as see through as other solar shades I have seen. I have an odd shaped window, so to get the proper width I had to buy a shade that was way too long. I thought a bit of excess in the roll would not be an issue. This became a problem when I realized the pull cord is the length of the shade. It was not possible to properly mount the shade guide. I contacted Bali and they sent me some connecting links free of charge. This enabled me to cut the cord to the proper length and reconnect it. Overall it seems to be of good quality, just don't expect to see very well through it, especially if the sun is shining directly on it.

These shades were easy to install, do a great job of blocking out the sun. The only complaints I have is the corded do not roll up straight and I have to pull on one side of the blind to get them to roll right. The other is that the weighted piece to put in the bottom is not heavy enough and the shades want to roll up slightly at the bottom. All and all I can live with these two minor issues and feel this was a very good purchase for the price.

Make sure the guy who cuts them in the store knows what he is doing / I had to make an extra trip because 2 guys cut 2 different widths. Basically!the cloth part should be 1-1/2 less than width of window. I had them installed because they were on awkward windows but the instructions didn't look easy to me but I'm no DIYer. also the brackets are ugly so I have to figure out how to make a valance. They look nice - sheerish letting in lots of light.

I purchased four of these solar blinds after looking for something similar at window treatment stores. These shades were 1/4 the price, which made me skeptical of the quality--I couldn't have been more wrong. They are well made, roll up/down smoothly with the matching beaded cord, and were cut to fit precisely to my measurements. They were easy to install with a screwdriver and drill. The shades let some light in, allow those inside to see out, but cut the bright sun's glare tremendously. They also reduce the drafts coming from the windows (we have excellent quality, triple-pane windows, but there was still some leakage). I was so pleased with this purchase I ordered more for the dining room in white. A word of warning: at night, they don't obscure the view from outside. If you want privacy, layer on curtains so others can't see in.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE...after installation of the shade, when it was rolled down for the first time it skews off to the right 2" over the 66" height...obvious inferior quality and craftsmanship...the mesh is either attached to the roller out of square or the mesh itself is stretched...a $10 shade from Walmart is a better product than this $50 piece of junk...DO NOT BUY...Ordered 13 of them for our office, this was the first installed, needless to say they will ALL be going back.

Our window width measured 61" & we bought ther 60" width but it was too short & did not fit Inside the window frame. We thought because the mounting brackets were 1/2" on each side it would give us the 61" we needed to fit the window frame. We were really disappointed as the blinds are very nice looking on the window but we had to return them. Unfortunately 60" width is the largest they come in.

We are very happy with our new blinds, perfect balance between privacy and still being able to enjoy the sunlight.

When the box arrived, I thought the wrong size was sent. Didn't read the directions, did I?? Anyway, once I figured out that they were cut to fit already, I installed them easily and they are just what I needed for my western exposure kitchen window!

We have a SE facing window over our stairs landing that is approx 4'x5'. The Texas sun was turning our upstairs into an oven even with A/C and fans going. We like having the view from the window so we didn't want to place curtains over it. This shade was ordered cut-to-size to fit perfectly in our window. Once installed, the temperature of our upstairs dropped significantly. Now, we can sit upstairs during the day without all of the fans going all day on high speed. Also, we can still see out the window and it is similar to looking out of a tinted window. The only minor complaint is the quality of the plastic roller chain. One of the chain beads is deformed and it can get caught when raising/lowering the chain. This is minor for us because we plan on leaving the shade down most of the time. Overall, we're extremely pleased with this product and its effectiveness. I recommend this to anyone that wants to block heat but still be able to see out their window.

As another reviewer said (which encouraged me to purchase this shade) it looks better in real life than the picture. It's not opaque and just filters the light. The window I put it in gets a very hot afternoon sun, and I am amazed at how much cooler the room is now.

I get nothing but compliments on my shades; they look stylish and have really classed up my windows. We bought a house in Central Texas, where there is a lot of sun and a lot of heat. It had no window coverings on any of the back windows. Even though we have a covered back porch, the windows create a lot of heat; the floor and furniture, heck, even the air near the windows is HOT in the summer. We looked into replacing the windows, but wow does that get expensive fast since they are custom sized. Instead, I installed these shades in the family room and breakfast nook (11 floor to ceiling, side by side windows). Since I installed them, the temperature at the windows is much cooler. It seemed that our AC wasn't kicking on as much, and sure enough, our power bill for last month (June) dropped $130 from what it was on either of the previous 2 years! Even on an overcast day, you can see outside just fine yet, people cannot see in. It is time to get some for the other four rooms on this side of the house. To recap, 1 - They look high end. 2 - Privacy (you can see out, but people can't see in) 3 - cuts down a lot on AC. Like I said, you should buy these!

Took the suggestion of other reviewers and brought it to Home Depot to have "cut to size." It's perfect! It looks so different hanging than in a roll. The shade is seamless, just blends into the wall, as it is sheer. I'm amazed that not only does it block off the sun's rays, but blocks the heat as well (morning sun.) Great product!

I purchased this shade online as the stores no longer stock it. When it arrived, I took it to the local home depot with my window dimensions and had them cut it to size. They cut it perfectly and it fit exactly as I had measured. I had been looking for a solar shade for my picture window and found them to be very expensive. When I found this one at Home depot I was thrilled. I am very pleased with the quality!!! and the very reasonable price!!!

Blocks sunlight/UV very well, while allowing for some transparency to the outside. Very satisfied.

Ordered these for the west side windows in my sunroom. They prevent the sun from coming through, yet I can still see out. Just what I wanted and are easy to get up and down.
