Just in case, you don’t read any further than this, I recommend you taking the time and taping and papering off the entire house and spraying it. I have a 8 year old roof that had been previously installed when we had different colors of siding. We decided to change our siding and it just didn’t match our roof shingle Color. We had also seen that the color we had chosen before was staining and just didn’t look nice and clean. We did the whole roof with this product and are extremely pleased.

Went on and covered metal barn roof well after priming. Delivery was fast and packaged well but no stir sticks were included. Time will tell about durability.

Bought 3 cans winter way as we wanted a grey. It looks like a darker grey on HD site. In reality it is a bright blue. HD won't return or help in any way other than saying to go to store to get it adjusted. I need 3 more cans though (6 total). Not in the mood to risk flushing another 100$+ down the toilet if they can't custom color 2 different batches to some identical grey shade. Never put any on the roof so don't know about quality of paint.

The paint faded on many places in the roof

I couldnt afford a brand new roof for my house, but the old one was leaking badly. So i bought used commercial steel roofing, cut it to the lengths i needed, power washed it, installed it, caulked all the old screw holes with Fuze-It, primed it with Home Depot’s multi surface primer, then applied this paint. The roof looks brand new!

Seriously, I saw the color called Dark Secret and knew that was for me. Paint arrived 1.5 days earlier than expected. I see a lot of reviews saying you gotta buy over 10 gallons to cover roof. If your using a roller then yes you won't get as much coverage. But I used my Avanti airless sprayer and got at LEAST 1700 sq feet easily. I'm using this paint on asphalt shingles and they absorb it well, even on overcast , humidity day shingles dried quickly. My neighbors approve as well!

It has grate covrege if you do it on shingels and want good covrige you may want to cris croos to get a good covrege i just sprayd a 2500 sf home and it looks brand new

It was hard to find a pint for shingles, there aren’t many options on the market. If you don’t get the right paint you may ruined your food. The dark colors weren’t available, so I’ve decided to take a risk and get the darkest color that was available and toned it myself. Great results, my roof surface is about 2300 sq ft and It took about 9 gallons.

It works really good but You will need twice the amount described for the covered area And i wish they add a picture with the real color instead of just the color name wich is hard to visualize. Besides that it does the job

Roof tile paint was sprayed nice and thick. Has adhered very well. Looks great after two weeks. Hope it performs as advertised.

Was a little skeptical about changing the color of roof. Decided to spray to speed up the application. Coverage not close to specs. Used 10gal for approx. 800sq ft

Only problem was that I entered the square footage of the area I needed to cover which said I needed roughly 3 gallons. I got 4. Then had to order two more, then two mor, then two more. It took 10 gallons. Wish I had know to start. But it was a roof, and it just drank it up. Love the end result though.

Reviewing something that hasn't yet been put to the test isn't helpful to anyone, of course. I used this paint just a few months ago to refresh the top of my camper. The roof didn't leak, so I didn't need all those expensive silicone products like Tropi-Cool. (I also avoided those because you need to put such a thick layer on the roof, and you can only recoat with a similar product.) The roof paint went on like any other paint, dried well, but was too bright for the rest of the camper. I brought it back to Home Depot and found out that HD does NOT have a color match formula for this paint! The guy who helped me seemed to have much experience in the paint department, as he said he'd try to "knock down the brightness a bit". And he did! It's not a perfect match, but it's less jarring than it was before; hence only four stars. The camper is under a tarp for this '20-'21 COVID winter, so I have no idea as to the longevity of this paint. HD, send me a request to rate this product again in five or ten years.

I was looking for something to paint metal with for the outside of mobile home. I seen this and read about it so I bought it and WOW it is wonderful COLOR!! Went on smooth and easy. Didn't get all clumpy or knotty. Hope it holds for years to come.

We had a red asphalt composite roof that did not match our newly painted home. We used the black slate behr roof paint & it turned out amazing. It is thick & you’ll need more than you expect. Highly recommend. One of our best make overs:)

Product did I wanted it to do. change my brown shingle black. I used a broom to clean off all of the loose stuff . I used about 10 gallons for a 1400 sq ft roof. Roof was not leaking or in need of replacement so if its not broke why fix. I spent about 450 bucks in materials instead of 11K to replacement the roof. Eventually I will get the roof fixed, but for now Im satisfied with the outcome. Hope this helps.

Looks great! Looks like a new roof. I had to thin it out, and retouch some areas, but can't beat the end result for the money. Use a roller pad with plenty of padding, the tile is difficult to paint otherwise.

I was hesitant at first about painting a roof but it ended up working out great. I purchased the black paint for my shed roof. The shed was fixed up and painted but the original brown roof although in acceptable shape, did not go with the new shed color. This paint applied quickly with a roller and looks great. I have had it on for 3 weeks without issue, we will see how it lasts long term.

I needed to change my sons playhouse to a black roof to match our new black roof. We went from brown to black . I used a rough surface roller. I agree with the review above saying to use a paint sprayer to make the product go on easier. Super happy we the finish product. Now I need to redo the White House paint.

I cant budget a new re roof at thia time so I chose to spend a fraction of the cost and resurface my 15 year asphalt shingle roof (2005 Hurricane Wilma) I have 1900 sq ft. I used 10- 5 gal Multisurface Roof Paint - Clay Brown Flat as the finish. I started by washing the roof with standard outdoor cleaner, then I used a waterproof, seal and bond on the shingles with another HD stocked product, a primer - Aqua-Proof Primer. This also took 10-5 gal buckets. This created a strong seal, bond and waterprrof coating that was black so you can see where you coated very well. This created a real nice membrane coating. Let dry for two days then painted using the multisurface roof coating. Because of the age of the asphalt shingles, I did 2 coats of primer and 3 coats of paint. I used a semi rough 9 In Nap roller for both product application, used 1 roller per 5 gal bucket each, and a 3 in brush for seams, edges etc not covered by roller. The project took me 2 1/2 weeks to complete. While the project was roughly about $2500 for all material (New re roof estimate $11,500), I can say it was well worth it. I have a new roof in appearance and it looks great! My roof is cooler, has a very nice feel to it and I dont have al the asphalt gravel eating away from the shingles, It is easy to clean now and going forward. Highly recomend using both products together as the outcome is better than I expected.

I used the Multi-surface roof paint to reseal a concrete deck that had a urethane covering that had outlasted it's life. After cleaning and preparing the surface I applied 2 coats and the outcome was amazing. It has been one month and still looks great but the true test will be durability under traffic conditions. Grandkids coming in two weeks should provide the true test.

Needs to be sold in 5gal bucket! And square footage needs to be adjusted to about 300 square feet per gallon!

Behr exterior roof paint is an excellent product that turned my old, dry, brittle shingles into like new condition! The reason the 5 stars were not to be? The color is so far off the paint sample that even allowing for the fact that paint samples can vary a lot, there is no excuse for the soft Sage Garden Green color I ordered to look like neon holiday tree green! I did use the recommended tinted Behr primer sealer so I was doubly surprised!

My roof tiles were removed and stored outdoors for several years. I now need them for a project so I pressure washed them individually. Using a 3” long X 1” (approx) roller , I painted them individually. So far, I’ve used less than 1/2 of a 5 gallon bucket on approximately 350 tiles. I’m able to paint about 50 tiles per hours. Coverage should be better than what I’m achieving on installed tiles since the overlapped portion won’t be painted
