Don't waste your money
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I applied this on my side walk around the house. 10 months and it's already peeling out. I followed all instructions and still it peeled. Use some other product but not this.

Hi Kishore, thanks for sharing your feedback. We're sorry to hear the epoxy paint you used on your sidewalk peeled so soon; that's not the performance we expect from our products.

To get your project back on track, we'd recommend removing all the loose paint from your surface, cleaning your surface with a concrete cleaner and degreaser, allowing it to for at least 24 hours, and spot priming any bare/uncoated concrete spots with our Bonding Primer No. 880 before touching them up with your paint.

Customer satisfaction is very important to us. So, we've reached out to you directly to assist you further. We hope you have a great rest of your weekend.
    Extremely frustrated!
I bought the Behr concrete and garage paint. I pressure washed the floor and then used an etching agent recommended by the Home Depot representative. I painted the concrete garage floor. 3 days later I applied the Behr concrete sealer. After waiting 10 days the paint peeled down to the bare concrete when a car was parked on it. Repaired and parked in a different spot and the Paint peeled once again !

Hello Katherine, thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear the epoxy paint you used on your garage floor peeled where your tires sat.

To get your project back on track, we would recommend removing any peeled and loose paint from your surface before spot etching any bare areas, cleaning your surface with a cleaner degreaser, allowing it to dry for at least 24 hours, spot priming the bare areas (to promote the best adhesion) with our Bonding Primer, and touching up the affected areas with epoxy paint.

      Really poor adhesion
I purchased this product at the Home Depot and it came highly recommend from the store employee. I explained I had a concrete area that was poured recently. I waited 30days for the concrete to cure and for weather to be 65 outside. I clean the surface and took all steps recommend by letting it dry between coats. After 2weeks the surface felt tacky still. After 3weeks and a rainfall the entire paint started to peel and bubble. I am now stuck with a disgusting surface that looked better without paint. Always a good idea to test this out in one area before doing a big job.

        Very disapointed
Had this product applied by a professional contractor that had done other garage floors. He used the seperate etching solution. Then the epoxy, that had the primer in it. We did not park cars in garage for 2 weeks. Within one week of using the garage, the epoxy was peeling under and around tires. Behr refunded our cost. The peeling got worse so I got back in touch with Behr. They sent us a free gallon of a special clear primer. We had to sand off all loose paint and redo the application. We were away for just under a month, with no cars parked in garage. After returning home, out beautiful floor was again peeling. I do not recommend this product. Our neighbor used the 2part Rustoleum product at the sameme time as us, and their floor is perfect 9 months later.

          Seals cracks in concrete driveway
I have an elevated concrete driveway supported by wooden joists which had many cracks allowing water to penetrate to the wooden support joists and a small workshop underneath the driveway. I purchased this paint about two years ago and applied it to the cracks, large and small. The leakage stopped completely. Recently after some heavy rain, I noticed some minor water seepage so reapplied this product. It goes on really well and penetrates cracks easily. An efficient low cost solution to what could be a very expensive driveway replacement. I bought this product about two years ago. Seals cracks in concrete driveway

Painted the garage floor and tires immediately pulled up paint (dried for days before driving on it).

              Great durable product!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a less expensive alternative, I finished off my concrete basement floor with this product. Not only was it very easy to apply, it has held up incredibly well to lots of traffic and looks great. It really changed the whole look of my basement for a very affordable price. I will be finishing off my garage floor next.

                      poor durability
I bought this in October 2018 to recoat a concrete floor in my house, used as my "dog room". I scrubbed the floor using a commercial floor scrubber, allowed it to dry for a week. Initial application was spotty to the point that Behr sent me a coupon for another gallon so I could recoat the areas where the pain blistered and peeled up. Now 11 months later, the entire floor is flaking. All my crates are placed on carpet pieces to prevent any scratching so the only"unusual" foot traffic is the fact of having several beagles walk over the floor on their way into and out of the house. Had better luck 10 years ago with a cheap garage paint (non epoxy product) and would not use this Behr product again, nor recommend it. Thought this product would hold up better to wet feet when the dogs come in from a romp in the rain -- I can't imagine how poorly it would hold up to tires, especially when a car is parked on it after a rainstorm.

                      Hi Linda,

Thank you for reviewing 1-Part Epoxy. I’m incredibly sorry to hear that you’re having a peeling issue with 1-Part Epoxy again. It certainly isn’t the performance we’ve come to expect from our products, and I completely understand how disappointed you must be.

If the paint is peeling down to bare concrete, the exposed concrete should be etched to increase adhesion. Because your project is in a basement, a floor grinder would be the best option. You can also apply Behr Concrete & Masonry Bonding Primer to help increase adhesion. I attached a tip sheet that goes into further detail.

I emailed you directly and look forward to hearing back from you!

                      Kindest regards,

This product is a total waste of money
We built a new home about 2 years ago, my first thought was to paint or Epoxy the garage floor once we moved in. I waited approx. 6 months to make sure that the concrete had properly cured and kept it as clean as I could until I had a chance to coat it. I did my research and decided to apply a 2 part Epoxy coating instead of paint. When I went to the local Home Depot, I asked for more info on the epoxy products that they sold. He immediately started talking about how good the Behr concrete paint was and its ease of application compared to epoxy. After about 15 minutes he had me convinced that Behr concrete paint was the way to go. I made sure that the prep work was done properly (I have done a lot of painting in the past and know how important prep work is), waited for the right temp for application and applied 2 coats, letting both of them cure as to instructions. Once the timeline passed for driving on the coated floor, I immediately noticed hot tire marks. In a very short time I knew that I had made the wrong decision in going with paint instead of epoxy. I have a 3 bay garage and was just using 2 of the bays for the first 9 months after moving in. I decided to start using the 3rd bay (had never parked a car on it prior) about 3 months ago just to see if the paint will stand up longer due to 9 months of curing. Guess what? Same hot tire marks (second picture, left side of garage) within days. Since fall is coming, I thought it best to recoat the floor once again which I did yesterday. Having a look at the recoating job I completed 24 hours ago, I could see roller marks everywhere. This Behr concrete paint is just pain bad stuff, not sure why Behr would put their name on this paint as I have used other interior and exterior Behr paints with good results. After looking at my messy recoating, I have decided that next spring I am going to rent a diamond grinder and completely remove all the existing floor paint and coat with a reputable 2 part epoxy. I know some of the existing reviews mention how good the job looks once completed, mine did as well. I would be curious to know how they feel after a few months of driving a vehicle on it. I have talked to Behr company about the problem, same stock answer everyone gets, please, no need to respond back to me in regard to my review. Behr, you can do a lot better, please don't call this paint a 1 part epoxy, it is nothing even close to an epoxy finish. Just caused me a lot of work and grief, never again will I use a Behr paint product. I

                        Hi Bryan B,

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience; I can understand your disappointment and your hesitation to use the 1 Part Epoxy again. You mentioned there were roller marks after recoating. Sometimes these marks will even out after 24 hours of dry time. However, if the issue continues, a second recoat can be applied, making sure to keep a wet edge and avoid overworking the product which can make it dry too fast.

Your satisfaction is important to us, so I’ll be sure to send a follow up email to see how I can help turn your experience around.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We used this in a bathroom with concrete floors. We scrubbed the floors clean, etched, primed with the bonding primer then put on 2 coats of this. We had no foot traffic in there for 8 days. After a week of use we noticed many spots were chipping up. Not impressed at all.

                                Hi Swampman72,

Thanks for taking the time to review the 1-Part Epoxy, and sorry to hear it's peeling after only a week! I assure you this isn't typical. To fix this, it’s best to strip the coating, clean the surface (no need to etch again if surface is rough and porous), prime with the No. 880 Bonding Primer, and recoat at the proper spread rate.

                                  Hi Spiveyam,

Thanks for taking the time to review our product, and sorry to hear it's peeling- especially so soon! I assure you this isn't typical. To fix this, remove the loose coating with a wire brush and sand the rough edges until smooth. It's important to etch any bare concrete before spot priming (with the No. 880 Bonding Primer or the self-priming 1-Part Epoxy) and touching up. As long as the surface is prepped properly, I'm confident the product will perform.

                                                          Disappointing results
Painted the garage floor 4 years ago when we built our house and product seemed to work well. Now 4 years later, salt and sand from winter roads have taken its toll on the floor so proceeded to redo the floor. After scraping, scrubbing and mopping the floor applied 2 coats of new paint to the floor and now a week later if any water gets on the new paint it blisters and peels. Does not seem to matter whether it is in an area the the old paint had completely worn off or along the sides or in the corners where the old paint was still good

                                                          Hello,

Thanks for reviewing the 1-Part Epoxy Concrete & Garage Floor Paint. I'm very sorry to hear that it blisters and peels if any water gets on the new paint. This isn't how we expect it to perform, and certainly not the kind of experience that we want our customers to have. At this point, it'll be best to sand off the loose coating, spot etch and prime the bare areas, then touch up and recoat if necessary. I'll be sending a follow-up email, so please be on the lookout for that.

                                                          Best regards,

                                                          Takhari
