This was applied by a contractor who precisely filled instructions 3 years ago. The deck is mostly covered and yet it is flaking terribly.

We painted our dock (on salt water) with this product. It is tough to spread because it is so thick, but we found that if you roll it on and go over it quickly with a paint brush, many of the screws and imperfections in the wood are covered in one coat. The texture is nice and feels good on bare feet. We hope this extends the life of our dock by many years to come!

I started using deck over on a cement path to our deck, then my husband wanted me to go around the entire pool- a huge job! I’m almost finished & it looks amazing! I applied it with a brush on my hands & knees. This probably seems more time consuming than using a roller, but was worth not needing a 2nd coat & allowed me to see all the missed spots from the texture of the original surface. I did run into weather delays but that was Louisiana’s fault not Behr! Very pleased! & Love the color choices!

This product worked well on our deck and looks great. However, we felt our deck required more to complete than expected.

We had used the regular Deckover on our large porch with pressure treated boards and decided to try the extra texture this time and are so glad we did! We think the extra texture version covers better and looks nicer than the regular version. Very happy so far—we will see how the extra texture wears.

Bought this for a client for use on a older deck. Once the deck was cleaned and dry we put this on and it looked like a brand new deck

Applied to worn side landing. Very good result thus far. Covers well and resists slips which is all we could ask for. Easy to work with and result is attractive.

We bought this to go on the ramps of our new deck. It was applied by our contractor. We have already had several rains and falling leaves on the ramps and the traction has been very good. We are careful anyhow, but we are satisfied that the texture is great.

I have used DeckOver for over 15 years and decided to "refresh" the front porch color. I chose a medium dark blue for the porch floor and a blue/grey for the porch railings. The results are awesome. The dark blue floor matches my front door and window shutters. The care for this product is extremely minimal and the colors stay true. Application is easy, cleanup is even more easily done. I highly recommend DeckOver. DeckOver enhances the beauty of my home.

Did the deck with textured deck over on railings and transparent on floors

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our deck was built in 2001 and hasn't really been taken care of properly. It had peeling paint, bare spots, and so many cracks i couldn't count them. I prepped the deck per the instructions using the Behr products. The only thing I found was, because of all the cracks, I couldn't use the roller for the first coat, I actually brushed it on. I rolled the second coat, but the roller sleeve kept sliding off the roller; my roller is old. This job took a lot of time and effort, but boy was it worth it. All I can say is WOW; this deck looks new.

It has been peeling for two years and we finally replaced it. It looks beautiful! It was already textured so we used the smooth over the texture, and used texture on the replaced pieces and wood and the paint was completely gone. Also changed from a red to a beige. Will see over the years how it holds up though.

We accomplished our house with 4 decks. Now we are getting the same awe-inspiring looks at our decks from our friends and guests that we did in Maine. This product sells itself! Our decks look brand new and it is wearing perfectly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I put over old painted concrete pavers and it adhered well. I did a thorough cleaning prep which is key to success. We'll see how it makes it through a winter but so far, it's a tough coating and filled the surface irregularities well.

I was tired of staining the deck every two to three years with traditional stains that fade quickly. Decided to invest in DecikOver and I am very happy with the results. Pro Hint wait for the Labor Day or Memorial Day rebates on this product to save money.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have several decks constructed with treated lumber. We live on the coast and the weather is really hard on the wood. Some of the decks are a couple years old and have cracks and splits in the wood. I needed a coating that would attached to the clean wood, offer slip resistance and fill all the cracks. I purchased the extra textured Deck Over product by Behr from Home Depot. I installed the product last weekend and was very pleased with the outcome. The product was easy to install with the proper roller. I also used a paint bush to get the product to cover in the cracks. I have a dock to cover this weekend and I can't wait to see the end result.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used Behr DeckOver Extra Texture formula to put a new finish on an existing deck. I started my project with the Behr All-in-One Cleaner. We had replaced a few boards but most are older boards. I used a 5 gallon bucket and was able to get 1 full coat and a second coat on my high traffic areas. I was very happy with the finished product. I think i will get another 1 gallon to hand touch up some of the older cracked boards. While it was suggested to do that first i did skip that step for most of the deck. I noticed a huge difference in the areas I did use a brush on first. It is worth the extra effort. All in all I was very satisfied with the texture and finished appearance of the deck. I will use this product again in the future.

Bought 15 gallons of this product and painted my concrete patio and sidewalk. The next day I had to scrape it all to get the blisters off of it. Power washed it twice and did all the prep work as described. Blistered the same day as I painted it. Yes it was hot, but you can't put it down if it looks like rain either. Not happy at all. I've used this product on my walkout basement and front walks and it worked fine. Did peel off of my deck the first year.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As we started the application process, the paint is like putty and textrured and went on fairly well on the deck surface with covering of the cracks and imperfections of the old deck. As for doing the lattice work on the deck, I think we should have used the smooth brand vs. Extra Textured. We will see how it takes midwest weather.

Last fall I purchased Behr Premium Extra Textured Deck Over I bought 6 gallons & what a waste of time & money. I had 1 knee replaced earlier in the year & 1 needing done. The deck was clean, dry & I went to work painting my deck!!! This spring it started coming off & everyday more has went!!! Needless to say, I am out money, time & a horrible looking deck!! I can submit pics to show!! I talked to Home Depot when I bought this & they recommended. I also read good reviews which is why it is necessary for me to let others know.

Applied the coating last summer with all the recommended prep work. Now 50% of the coating has peeled off. What a waste of time and money.

We bought a house that had a big entertaining deck that I wanted to give new life too. I heard great things about this paint rather than going with stain. How it would fill in the cracks and you can walk on it barefoot and not have to worry around splinters. I spend over $500 to do this project. I took my time and pressure washed the deck and over the course of the season I painted the entire deck with the steps provided on the bucket. Now having this project completed I can honestly say it definitely fills in the cracks. I used the smooth finish for my railing and did about 3 coats. I used the lightly textured one for the flooring. It looked great after it was done. I have now have had the product on my deck for 7 months and I was disappointed to see after winter clean up that I already had several areas that the paint was peeling. I didn't spend this much money on the project assuming to have to redo it every year.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this product to protect our front concrete steps after they were professionally patched and skim coated. We followed the directions on the label and talked at length with a worker in the paint department about the product and how to apply. We waited 5 weeks following the cement repair. It was 60* the day we applied the product. The steps were clean and dry. We used the roller recommended by the associate and applied to coverage recommendations. Initially we were pleased with the covering, but the color looked like it came from a baby diaper. After it dried overnight, the color toned down a bit, but was still not appealing. Another day passed and it was tolerable, but not a color I would choose on purpose. It was well over 48 hours after application when it rained. After the rain, we noticed blisters forming under the coating. The product failed to adhere. Now we have baby poo colored steps with peeling product that ruined a several hundred dollar new concrete repair job. Very disappointed in the difference between promised and real results.
