The most GORGEOUS color!!
I was looking for a color to make my front and side doors pop against the beige brick color of my home (a 60s ranch) and this color did not disapoint! I am thrilled with it and everyone who comes over always says how much they like the color, especially on a cold winters day here in Michigan! The paint went on well and did not streak, highly recommend!

    Front Door Looks New
Hired a contractor apply the paint on my front door so can't comment on that aspect, but the door looks beautiful. The painter applied 3 coats, so it should last for 5 or maybe even 10 years before needing repainting. Only time will tell.

    1-gallon can failure
These new 1-gallon plastic containers don't have a good seal. The paint starts to form a film inside the can after the first time you open it, which comes out in clumps and lumps especially in the bottom half of the can. You have to remove dried clumps as you paint, which is frustrating. The "easy to use lid and pour spout" is supposed to help you pour more neatly and avoid the problem, but air still gets in around the edges. For more than $60, I would expect a decent can to store the paint in.

Hi Nathan, thanks for your review. I'm sorry to hear about the clumps and lumps in the container you used. To fix this, I recommend stirring the paint for 5-7 minutes to resolve the clumps. And if there are dried clumps on your project, you can sand these smooth, clean off the sanding dust, and touch up if needed. Customer satisfaction is very important to us, so feel free to reach out to our Customer Care team directly for further assistance. They are always happy to help. Enjoy the rest of your day. -Christina Behr

      Not a good match
When this paint dried, it did not look like the color advertised, it's very bright and not what I was wanting or expecting. I wish I had read the reviews, as others are saying the same thing.

Hi Natal - Thank you for reviewing our paint. I'm sorry to hear that this color dried a lot brighter than expected! I recommend making sure the color was mixed correctly by comparing the paper swatch for Mayan Treasure P490-7 to the dried paint dab on the lid of your paint can. If they match, the color is correct, and you may want to choose a new color to recoat your project with. It's also best to pick up an 8 oz. sample of your new color selection to test out before making a larger purchase. If the swatch and paint dab don't match up, the color may have been mixed incorrectly, and we recommend recoating with the correct color. So we can assist you with this further, please feel free to reach out to us directly. We hope to hear from you! – Sara Behr
        Benjamin Moore vs. Marquee
for the past few years i've used almost exclusively benjamin moore regal select for my paint projects. this is based on my own experience as well as info from professional painters (which i am not). I had some newly installed molding (primed pine) to paint around the house but my local benjamin moore store was closed so i picked up a gallon of the ultra white marquee semi-gloss. End result is fantastic. the paint is easy to apply and really bright - makes the trim pop. Bottom line: you get comparable results but Marquee is cheaper than regal select.

          The worse paint ever!
I'm so disappointed with this paint. I should have read the reviews before I decided to try this terrible paint. I'm a craftsman and I hand crafted an Adirondack chair and then I primed it. I let the primer dry for a few days and then painted the chair with the Marquee semi gloss paint using a good quality roller. No matter how I applied this paint it didn't cover and I could see the white primer through the paint. After 3 days of waiting for it to dry it remained sticky. We can't even sit in the chair in fear of sticking to the paint. I feel I have just paid for paint that ruined my beautifully hand crafted Adirondack Chair. There is something drastically wrong with this paint. It's going to need a 2nd coat because the fist coat is so thin you can see through it. I'm so upset!

Hello Anthony, thank you for sharing your feedback. We're sorry to hear you weren't satisfied with the Marquee paint you used; that's not the experience we want our customers to have with our products. Our Marquee paint should cover in one coat when applied to a previously coated surface, and is tinted to any color in the Marquee One Coat Collection palette. Colors outside the palette, and the untinted Ultra Pure White may require additional coats to provide you your desired coverage. To get your project back on track, we'd suggest increasing the ventilation in the space the chair is located and allowing it to dry longer. A recoat may be needed to uniform your color once the chair has dried a bit longer. Customer satisfaction is very important to us. Please feel free to reach out to our Customer Care team directly for assistance, or if you have any questions. They are always happy to help. Have a great rest of your day. –Joanna Behr

            Worst paint on earth
I prepped my previously-painted surfaces (sanding, tsp) before using this horrid paint, which has turned me into the kind of person who takes the time out of her day to leave a review on PAINT. It was watery and didn’t cover properly—like painting on cellophane. It ran and left uncovered patches everywhere. I thought at first it was my surface but I tested a Sherwin Williams paint on the same wall and it went on fine. Never using Behr again. Photo shows white Behr on top and blue SW on bottom.

Hi CamCHS - Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear that the paint seemed so watery and left a patchy finish! Our Marquee paint should have a very creamy consistency and will cover your previously painted or primed surfaces in or coat when tinted to a color from our One-Coat Color Collection. If the paint still seems watery and transparent after stirring it for a few minutes, it's best to continue your project with a new can. We'd like to help you with this further. Please feel free to reach out to us directly. We look forward to hearing from you! - Sara Behr

              Painters Tape Blue
I am really upset with how this color dried. It was a lot brighter than advertised and matched the blue painters tape we used perfectly. We will be painting over it next weekend because it’s not working for us.

This paint is the ONLY paint I will ever use on my own buildings. It covers great, LASTS forever & is water and insect repellent. It's like wrapping your house in a silicone blanket. Clean up is a breeze. Frankly, it's worth every penny because I wont have to repaint again for 20+ years. I Love this stuff and have used it since the beginning.

                Painting the roses red
In New Mexico where the the majority of homes are stucco(brown)and it hardly ever rains. We have an old wood siding house from the 1940’s My wife who loves bright colors and anything shiny went to the Home Depot and brought home some of the color pallets. We knew the trim was going to be white because we had a half a bucket from the garage, and there has to be some similarities. But after some discussion we decided on a color. Sugar Beet for the siding. The color pallets helped us in finding a color for the doors that no longer seemed to match. We choose the Adirondack blue in the same sample. The Behr premium plus exterior covered the old color well and and dried with even tone. The thing that I was most impressed with was. As I was cleaning up we got a little sprinkle. During the night it rained, not a big deal but enough to make me worried. The next morning when I went out to check out the damage, there was none. I choose the product line because, the friend who lent me the spray machine said that he liked how it performed out his setup better than others.

False Product Information. I bought several one-gallon containers of Marquee Semi-gloss which all came delivered with an individual “one gallon” label on the lid applied after the mixing process. However, each one contains only 120 fl oz, 3.54 liter according to the main label!? I searched the small print and web sites in case I missed some information. I contacted Behr customer service submitting a form on their web site but zero response. Due to lack of explanation and customer service, I rate it low, although I am satisfied with the result.

                  Hi JDBR,

Thank you for your review. Our gallon-sized containers do not contain 128 oz because we need to leave enough room for colorant(s) to be added. That way, we can prevent overflow.

I'm sorry you haven't received a response. Our Customer Care Team generally responds to all incoming emails within a 48-hour period. If you do not see their response in your inbox within 48 hours of submitting your web form, please check your spam/junk folder.

Nicest paint that I ever used. Wanted to utilize my time during Covid-19 and stay busy. Decided to redo my front porch which badly needed to improve. Ordered material online to recover old cushions and needed paint. Called Behr customer service whom helped out wonderfully in choosing best paint for my many projects. Painted old wooden furniture, metal benches and concrete stand. Marquee had great coverage, nice consistency and easy clean up. Color loved by all who drove past as I was painting things inside my garage. Heard often "Hey love that color!" Liked that I did not have to use a primer and quickened my project. There is no down fall for this paint except I need more things to use it on!

Love the paint but not the new lid - list a customer
I have used Behr for years and have recommended to many. However maybe the issue is being a female with limited strength but I cannot open the new lids. After I use it once and wipe off the lid well before closing, even my husband can’t get it open. I have to cut it and move it to another container if not using it right away. I have bought 6 cans in the last few weeks from HD. They just smile when I express frustration with the new lids. I can only assume that means they are hearing it from others. Sherwin Williams was my 2nd choice but at least I can get to the paint.

The color doesn't match at all!
I am writing this review to prevent others to make the same mistake I did. The color advertised here is not at al the color you will have on your walls. Be more prepared for a common burgundy aubergine, forget the beautiful and sophisticated gray and purple undertones you see here. I am so upset I almost cried. my project fell apart. Also, be aware that there is no difference to my experience, between the marquee and the premium ultra. I'm using both to paint my house, and both need at least two coats. And yes, I used the rights tools, and yes, the original walls were lighter than the color used. Disappointed

                        Hi RMnyc,

Thank you for reviewing our Marquee paint. I'm sorry to hear that the color and coverage didn't turn out as expected! Our Marquee paint is guaranteed to cover your previously painted or primed surfaces in one coat when tinted to a color from our One-Coat Color Collection. We also recommend applying this product at the recommended spread rate to achieve the correct coverage. Colors online may vary from screen to screen, so it's best to check out the paper swatch and purchase an 8 oz. sample for the most accurate color representation. We'd like to assist you with this further. Please feel free to reach out to our Customer Care team directly. We hope to hear from you! - Sara Behr
