I am not a professional, but they seem to do their job very well. The only thing I can complain about is smell - out of the box it was terrible. I let them ventilate for around 24h and it seems to be slightly better, so there is a chance for more improvement with time. Would be 5 stars if not for the smell. Color is nice, I was a little bit scared it may be too aggressive based on the picture available here, but in reality they seem to be darker and look very nice.

These panels are worth every penny. We've used lots of different panels through the years and these beat them all. The 2'x2' configuration amounts to one quarter the labor during installation, and they are durable enough to reuse when it's time to acquire a new space. So nice to unbox them and not have to wait for them to bounce back from compression shipping. Creates a fertile atmosphere for creativity and songwriting and music making follows easily when surrounded by such classy stuff.

These worked perfectly for my small home studio. They do have a strong chemical smell for the first few weeks, so I might suggest letting them air out for a while before installing them.

The glue wasn't good but I solved that. It doesn't reduce the noise as expected. May be the newer product was better but I will not waste time and money again.

I've had my auralex acoustic materials for about 15 years now. I've used them in 3 incarnations of my recording studio built in my house. I have 12 LENRD's and a fair number of 2" foam panels. I'm pleased to see that HD is carrying this now, as I need more panels now that i'm in a bigger space. People should be aware that the acoustic foam is for controlling early reflections, flutter or slap-back echos and mitigating standing waves in an acoustic space, such as a home theatre, recording studio, critical listening environment or anywhere there are uncontrolled reverbs, echoes, or standing waves. It's NEVER to be used as a way to soundproof a space. That's like putting lipstick on a pig. Sound proofing is a completely different subject and auralex has the goods for that, too, but acoustic foam is NOT it. U Boats, the thick, dense rubber mat materials and some other stuff, along with proper construction techniques to decouple and isolate one space from another are the ONLY ways to properly soundproof a space. I hope that with a bit of proper education, people will purchase the correct products for the application. thanks, to auralex for a product that has lasted me 15 years!!! cheers!
