Enjoyed my first soak
Updated the hall bathroom. Since we have a walk-in shower in our master bathroom we knew we wanted a soaking tub in the hall bath. Installed about three weeks ago and just enjoyed my first soak with lavender epsom salts… ahhh. So comfortable. Love the depth, and after 30 minutes, the tub did a great job holding the heat. If you’re looking for a soaker tub, this is the one. 10/10 recommend.

    Nightmare
A picture is worth a thousand words. My daughter's foot went THROUGH the tub. It was 1/16 of on inch thick. Four months of back and forth with Kohler for replacement. They are offering a fraction of the cost to replace and repair. The tub was in use fo 18 months. Absolute nightmare.

      A beautiful, comfortable tub
I just remodeled my bath and now have a tub I truly enjoy. It's deep enough to truly soak, without being slippery. I did have to turn up the temperature on my water heater as it uses enough water I can't wait for the hot water to come before filling. It drains quickly and overall just makes me smile.

        Cracked 4 Years After Installation
We had this tub installed in September 2018 and by October 2022, it has a 6 inch crack in it after normal use. Got a quote to repair it for $1,200 from one bathtub repair/reglazing company, and another repair company told us they wouldn't fix it; they'd replace it. Waiting on a quote from a contractor to replace it. Called Kohler customer service and they are sending out a rep. to inspect to see if it was a contractor installation issue. Should not crack after 4 years. Beyond angry at Kohler

          Cracked and I’m so disappointed!
I LOVED this tub so much. I bought this in November 2020 and it cracked by where my feet are. I am 5’1” and 120lbs so I should NOT be big enough to crack the dang thing. Water ran down into my basement. Please make this right.

            Dark ring
Just had this tub installed in my home. Never been used. Noticed a dark ring. Thought it was a shadow but it looks dirty. I am deeply disappointed as this tub was not cheap. Now I’m stuck with a tub that looks like it has a dirt ring.

If I could give Zero stars, I would
I purchased this Archer tub in Nov 2017 and had it installed in Jan 2018. We recently experienced water damage to the kitchen ceiling below and found a crack in the side wall of the tub. For a tub that is only 4 years old, this is completely unacceptable. The plumber advised that this is a factory defect and should not have happened. I’m now in a situation where I will have to rip out a 4 year old bathroom and start over, not to mention repair the mold and water damage to the ceiling below.

                  Don’t buy this tub!
Year and a half old and it cracked. After three repair attempts, Kohler offered to replace the tub—as if I would install another defective product—but will not pay for the labor to have the new tub installed which will cost thousands of dollars.

                    crack after 3 years
I bought this tub in 2018 and it just cracked at the bottom back edge. I really liked the tub and the bathroom remodel was done around the dimensions of the tub. I'm worried about having to pay another $750 (to ensure the new tub fits into the space) to just have it crack in 3 years. This is a total bummer.

The tub is lovely. It worked very nice with our bathroom remodel. However, The contractor doing the install pointed out to us after the install, that there was a slight imperfection on the side of the tub, that is hard to describe, harder to fix. No matter how much grout is put in, there is a gap in the middle, and when the grout dries, it breaks off. No where else on the tub is this happening. We are waiting for shower doors to come in. When they do, the contractor will try to screw the sliding door down, which may secure the gap. Where they screw the door down, is just about where the gap is. If that doesn't work, they will need to remove the grout and try silicone, since there is give with silicone, but using silicone will present it's own set of issues.

Cracked and leaked after a few years light use
We bought this tub in late 2015, installed it a few months later and didn't start using it regularly until 2018 (it went into a house we were renovating). When it was installed I actually highlighted the important parts of the instruction manual and went over them with the contractor, knowing that proper installation was critical. Despite this it always creaked like crazy whenever we used it. A few days ago while the tub was in use water started dripping out of the ceiling below. A horizontal crack had opened in the shallow end, but we didn't notice it at the time so the plumber did an expensive, unnecessary repair to fix what he thought was the source of the leak (the drain shoe). Next night my wife took a bath and water came pouring out of the ceiling underneath. Now we have a huge hole in our kitchen ceiling and a tub we can't use (the only one in this house, btw). Not to mention the $2,000+ it will cost to rip out the faulty tub, buy and install a new one, fix the tile and repair/repaint the ceiling below!

Bracing of the vertical facing is carelessly engineered and relies on there being adequate fiberglass and plactic mix of the brace to form a bond without and mechanical connection and presumably no clamping during the cure process. I will fix this on site byb adding a fastener, but I think this represents a sloppy job of production engineering and a deficient quality control at Kohler, something I would not expect from this company. I have not yet examined the rest of the product, but it appears to not have other defects on first inspection.

Major crack after only 3 years
Very, very disappointed in this bathtub. I loved everything about it for three years and then out of no where, a massive crack appeared at the bottom. It's absolutely ridiculous to have to replace a bathtub after three years. Nevermind the expense. Reading about it now, this seems to be a known issue for many people. I can't believe it's still being sold.

Hi Kat7, this is Sarah with Kohler Co. I'm sorry to hear your Archer bath has cracked on the bottom after three years of use. This is very unusual and nothing you should expect to occur when choosing a Kohler bath. A crack in an acrylic product could be caused by impact (something striking the bath), during or after installation. It could also be a result of improper installation. We'd like to connect with you to learn how we can help. Please email our team at KohlerCustServ@kohler.com. Thank you. -Sarah S. KOHLER Customer Service

Very disappointed with the quality of this tub and during the installation. Overall the looks of the tub is good and this is why I opted to spend over a thousand dollars on the "plastic" tub and went with the brand that I thought would have a good quality. However I quickly got disappointed that going with what I though a reputable brand and expensive tub model does not equal a good recipe. When I opened the tub I was shocked to see that few spots at the bottom (from the making mold?) are extremely thin. So think that you can pretty much see through them. There are 4 round depressions at the bottom from the mold and 2 out of them are paper thin. If you accidently drop something and it hits that spot, I'm pretty confident that it will break right through in that spot. Second terrible quality of this bath tub is that it is not molded straight. It has feet running at the bottom that it should be supported on and after spending lots of time and effort leveling the floor perfect where the tub would stand, I realized that the tub itself is not level at all. The out of level is not by a little bit, its by more than 3/4" (see attached picture). So the effort of leveling the floor to avoid shimming was a waist effort and I had to come up with shims that run almost entire length of the tub and not only on the front side, but under all 4 supporting points that run almost entire length of the tub. Third terribly quality of this tub is that all 3 edges where the wall/tile meets with the tub are also not level at all. They droop down in the middle, so now when you have finished tile, you end up with much larger grout/silicone line in the center compared to at the edges! All this makes this tub way below average and nothing that should be charged premium for. You deal with too much hassle and end up with sub par results. I would definitely recommend reconsidering to use some other tub and brand.

We had one of these put in our master bath. I picked it based on the dimensions and the fact it was a Kohler so I was expecting a quality tub. Of course out of the box it looks great. Once installed and we go to use it we found there was a low spot on the back edge. Water builds up there and sits against the wall. It also squeaks like crazy.

This bathtub is a piece of junk. We installed it a year ago into a completely redone bathroom. Today my husband slipped in the bathtub during a shower and his foot went THROUGH THE SIDE OF THE TUB. Neither Home Depot or Kolher will do anything about it to help. Now we possibly have to tear down the bathroom again. We are livid and my husband got hurt. We should seek legal advice because this tub is not safe. Even our plumber has never seen something like this. Do not buy this tub.

Tub cracked after 2 years. It started with a small crack and it has now expanded to about 8 inches. (see image). I called Kohler and they refused to fix it as warranty is only for a year. They blamed it on the contractor who installed it, even though the contractor followed all instructions in Kohler booklet. How can a tub crack in 2 years ?.. my old one lasted 12 years and still did not have any cracks.

Beautiful Soaking Tub...perfect in every way. If you’re into bubble baths like me, this is the tub for you...The lumbar support is great and allows you to recline comfortably. The bottom of the tub has molded textured bumps, but for additional safety I further enhance the grip and use a clear bath mat. One of the coolest features is a toe-tap floor drain. Love it, very easy to use and so convenient. Very sophisticated and elegant! This was professionally installed and contractor had no problems with it.

I purchased this tub and had it installed two years ago as part of a guest bathroom remodel in my condo. I was attracted to its modern styling and size, as well as tub's light weight. However, after just two years of very occasional use (about 20 total uses, as it was in a guest bathroom), the tub developed a large 4" crack near the drain area (see picture) and is unusable. The tub only comes with a one-year warranty. When I called Kohler to explain that this was basically a new tub that was only used a handful of times, the Kohler rep (as well as the rep's supervisor) said too bad, it's out of warranty, that the only thing they would do is refer be to an authorized Kohler repairman to make repairs at my expense. However, the Kohler repairman they referred me to said that Archer tubs are non-repairable, because this model lacks a fiberglass backing. I investigated purchasing an inlay to epoxy to the bottom of the tub, however because the crack is near the drain area where the tub starts to curve up, that is not an option either. My only option is to buy a new tub and pay thousands of dollars to someone to rip out the old tub, install a new tub, patch the wall and floor tiles, etc. Do not purchase this tub! It is cheaply made, and Kohler will not stand behind it.

Boston, my name is Sarah with Kohler Co. I'm sorry to hear your Archer bath developed a crack around the drain after 2 years of use. A crack in this location (seen within a few years after installation) is likely caused by over tightening of the drain. I'm sorry the Kohler repairman was unable to repair this. We would like to discuss this with you further to be sure we are exhausting all possible options for repair. Please email us at KohlerCustServ@kohler.com. Sincerely, Sarah B. KOHLER Customer Service
