I was remodeling a deck this week, and found a nest of carpenter ants against the house. Went to HD and grabbed a gallon of Ant Shield, treated the area and around the entire structure.
Easy to use dispenser, seems very effectively.

Useless for black ants.
I've tried several applications over the last two weeks, to no avail.
They disappear for a day and then return in greater numbers.
They have now invaded the attic in a full on infestation!
Time for a full bombing campaign?

The sprayer does not work!!!! I needed to use it so badly that I just used another spray bottle!

Here are few suggestions. Make sure the plastic tubing is pulled out the full 2 feet from the sprayer gun. Have the nozzle adjusted to spray and hold at level or below the container when spraying. It did take a while for the red ant colony to die (24 hrs), and the large red and black ants to die (a few hrs).

It did the job I was expecting. My yard...
It did the job I was expecting. My yard was full of black ant nests. I applied just one application and it eliminated them. The ant population has been really under control since then. There is no noticeable odor to the product either.

It worked as it’s name implies. And it beats the heck out paying $300 for first visit plus $100 every month. From a local exterminator.

I’ve never seen anything work so fast! First time using this or any ant bait. Very impressed. My entire kitchen was crawling with wood ants and then within a couple of hours they were gone.

Easy to use but not that effective on the ants. Amount of ants has definitely decreased, but they are still around. Our goal was to eliminate them, this has not happened after two dousings.
