There wasn't any protective film to prevent the scratches and scuffs that came with it. Theres big inconsistent gaps that leak real bad and the weather stripping isn't pushed in alll the way. I would NEVER buy another one and don't recomend anybody to buy it. The number they tell you to call is only availble 7-5pm m-f, during my working hours. They dont respond to emails.

Beginning installation is pretty tricky as there are “if this/do that” instructions. Luckily my door frame was exactly 36” and square. Once the main piece with the door was hung everything else fell into place. I love being able to have my door open all day and keep the elements out. The retractable screen is so nice on cooler days and evenings. The seal around the door is tight so no bugs sneaking in. I did have to add some iridescent stickers to keep the dogs from running into it as its full glass. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Not and Anderson issue though. I highly recommend.

Installation succeeded, although the handle set was challenging. The paper template is far too prone to errors, and the lock cylinder could only be inserted after loosening all of the other parts. My main issue with the door is the build quality and the condition in which it arrived. There was no protective film as described in the instructions, and numerous scuffs and scratches on the door, and the metal seams show gaps. Seems almost like a refurbished door that cost full price.

Terrible door. The directions are terrible and after all that work, it leaks when it rains. I remember when the name Anderson meant quality.

I bought this storm door because it was an Anderson. Unfortunately, the quality of this door does not meet expectations. The mount for the hinge stripped within the year. If anyone else experiences this, I suggest using rivets. This will be the last storm door I ever purchased from them.

Reasonably easy to follow instructions made for a 'clean' installation. Good hardware, too. I would buy again...

The door was easy to assemble. however the included drill bit to start a small hole with in drilling through door to set holes for latch system broke off during first drill. however after getting the latch system together i have a exposed part of hole that was drilled on top on inside and outside. Im not sure if anderson company will exchange it for me or not but the all "oops proof" is nothing but a lie because it can get messed up on the latch part if the drill bit slips out and isnt in perfect alignment of the holes for the paper that you taped to door to make sure everything is good.

It is impossible for the average homeowner to drill accurate holes for the door handles with the template provided. I understand it is a universal door but stickies on either side would be extremely helpful. I have to hire someone to complete the door handles. I haven't even gotten to the hinge yet.

Beautiful product and even has a clear gate slides down opens to a traditional wired screen for airflow.

I have only had this storm door since 1/4/22. I literally just locked myself out of the house because the door knob fell off. I am literally replacing this door knob again for the 3rd time in over a year. This door knob is dangerous and could possibly become a fire hazard. Since I have had this door, it has caused me nothing but problems. I will never ever buy another Anderson door again!

Overall the door is good for it price but it’s drilling the handle can be very challenging.

We love the new storm door. Lets in alot more light.

Instructions were a bit cumbersome to follow. All parts accounted for but nothing extra so don’t drop a screw

Installed last summer / Fall - Screen came apart or out of track almost immediately (stupidly didn’t keep receipt) - our second one and have liked the original one but quality control seems lacking. But what do you want for an almost $400 door! Very disappointed.

The door is fantastic besides the fact of having to drill all the darn holes for the handle and lock.

Where do I start. Smh. On 1/6/22, I purchased this door and it has been nothing but problems going into the first couple months. It continues to go off track and this door knob is no good. My fear is, I now have to replace this knob. If not,the whole door. The door won't close at all now and I am using a scarf to help close I while I'm inside and a brick when I leave the home so it won't fly open. I will not be purchasing thos product again. Not to mention. On the door there is a sticker regarding proposition65 . Titanium Dioxide. Cancer causing chemicals? Can someone explain the warning.

Unfortunately, there is no option to specify this important info when ordering your lock from Andersen/ Home Depot. Should it be? Absolutely! It could be be identified by a customers existing key style and keyway photos on the ordering form. Residential locks are about 50 percent Kwikset and 50 percent Schlage for most homes out there, the higher end homes usually having Schlage "C" keyway. If you have Schlage locks/ keys for your home, you will need to order a Schlage C keyway profile cylinder.

I installed this door yesterday, and I'm very happy with how it turned out. I have never installed a door before, but I followed the instructions and everything went pretty smoothly. If you decide to purchase this door for your home, here are some lessons I learned along the way. You'll need a 7/16" drill bit. That's a BIG drill bit. Even if you have an assortment of drill bits in your toolbox, don't assume you have 7/16". Buying one added approximately $20 to the cost of the project. The instructions were good overall, but they were sometimes inaccurate or misleading. For example, in one place they referred to using the 2" flathead screws. The included screws were actually phillips. That's not a huge problem, but it was a bit confusing for a few minutes. Also, the instructions sometimes instruct you to pre-drill pilot holes in the door when the necessary holes are already pre-drilled from the factory. This again created some momentary confusion as I wondered whether I was looking in the right place. You could probably make-do with an electric drill, but having an impact driver made several steps much easier - especially when installing the handle. This door can work with a left-hand or right-hand swing installation, meaning you have to manually drill holes for the handle. That's where the aforementioned 7/16" drill bit comes in. You'll also drill six even larger holes using the included 13/16" drill bit. I slowed WAY down for this process since drilling the wrong hole in the wrong place could totally ruin the door. Thankfully, a paper template was included that makes this process relatively intuitive. I'm attaching a photo I took in the middle of my installation yesterday depicting the size and quantity of the holes (you'll have to do this on both sides of the door). Overall, I'm very pleased with the door. 5 stars!

We purchased this storm door over a year ago. Shortly after it was installed it stopped closing properly. Nine out of ten times as you pass through it will not close on its own. We have replaced the spring bracket twice, this morning I discovered that it broke for the third time. The storm door has swung open on its own and broke our porch light.

I’ve replaced the retractable spring twice already. Brackets are very weak. It’s as if the unit is warped. Won’t be buying another

1 year and 1month after installation the door just shattered when I opened the house door it just crumbled before me . No rhyme or reason

The install definitely tested my DIY skills but the end product was perfect. The hardware holes were not pre-drilled so somewhat nerve racking drilling through the metal but the stencil worked great. Extremely important to follow the step-by-step instructions but they are comprehensive. Second door I have bought and installed! Great design and functional with the hidden screen.

Don't be fooled by the Anderson name. Product arrived missing the pull-down screen handle. Replacement handle sent under warranty. While installing handle glass frame came apart. Looks like they attempt to use an interference fit to keep the aluminum frame connected to the interior corner L braces. My pressing on handle screw so it would cut threads in provided pilot hole caused enough flexure in the upper glass frame to cause it to come apart. I will NOT buy again.

2hour install? The instructions weren’t at all clear. None of the parts or pieces are labeled. Pre-drilled holes were off. The illustration of one piece showed it “L” shaped, found out it’s flat. And more than once we found that the instructions were out of sequence and we needed to back track. Started at 10:30 AM. Started cussing at 2:45PM. Hoping to have the handle set on tomorrow. The door looks good, but not at all worth the hassle. Pay for the easy install door!

Fairly easy to install, the drilling hardware for the handle and lock isn't great. Door also does not seal completely around door frame and you may need to fill with caulking or other insulator. Door looks beautiful and feels solid. I tinted mine and it offers some privacy while open and has helped reduce the heat in the front room. Watch their installation video, it will help fill in the gaps from the instructions, which are piecemealed and not completed user friendly.

This door feels high-quality, however it has some issues such that I’d like to get a different brand. When it rains water will leak into the house from the inside lower corner right under the glass. The threshold was not tall enough to completely cover the gap at the bottom of the door. The closure always slams at the very end, no matter how slow you adjust the door to close. It did assemble fairly easily, but all in all, I would return this door if I wasn’t already outside the 90 day window.

You shouldn’t have to be a machinist to install a door. You have to drill the front and back of door for the handle/ lock assembly even though the directions claim it’s pre drilled. Had the joy of sitting on hold with customer service forever with the message “ we just updated our customer service line so you’ll have to wait longer”” haha!! Seriously!? What a wonderful update. Save your $ Anderson isn’t any better than the cheaper brand. P.S you’ll need to buy drill bits

Beautiful storm door, it is very solid and has clean lines that really help my curb appeal. The hidden screen feature works smoothly and looks great.
